  • 0.05 racist!

  • six or sex ????????

  • at 2:50 how about b to b5?

  • Although you pointed out this flaw and some of its possible rememdies, I'd like to say that instead of Bd2, Bb5 would work well, as it both pins and safely threatens the Knight, therefor safe from a6. The best counter Black has for this would probably be Bd7.

  • wtf

  • Why would anyone like OR dislike this video? Seems to be a non-decision. It's not as though Englebert debuted a new song, where you might have a personally legitimate reason to like it or dislike it.

  • and dont now come because was intresting in hear the rap date doc, i should spent more time im prison because i would do that.. father dpont listen to the lies of my brother save me now i beg you save me father

  • Student: "Master, what is the most complicated game man has created?"

    Master: "Chess."

    Student: "What about Go?"

    Master: "Go has always existed."

  • Terrible game. Bad commentary.

  • @truffleseater Lets see. What shall I do today? I have an idea. Since I know nothing about chess, Im going to post a horrible beginners game of chess on youtube. Yes! Thats a great idea! When Im done with that, I will have to figure out how I can waste my time and others in a more productive way. But Im very resourceful in that area.

  • Check out ?y channel for ? free IPh?ne 4g! This r?ally works

  • Dude all you know to say is "weak" , "unfortunately" ?

  • " you know, unfortunately , unfortunately , you know , mistake , is , is , hmm , you know , unfortunately, weak pawn , unfortunately , checkmate"

dude FUCK YOU you are like VOLUME 823483213218123813283821382813212 _|_

  • Very funny.. [unfortunately blabla blunders white, blunders black, blunders white, blabla checkmate]

  • There is a new Chess site coming out GambitKing you can reserve your username now its pretty cool. Check it out!

  • great vedio. The only recomandation would be better chess board and pieces.

  • youshould add to your title BASICS analysis

  • black struggling for equality?? lol did u mean that

  • at the moment he says "black would probably survive this" black is actually utterly lost because you would then play Qh5 and not bother moving the bishop as that accomplishes nothing ,the only defence from mate is Qh6 which would then be captured with the pawn on g5 that particular series of moves are akin to the "fishing pole trap" when a pawn forces the knight from f6 (or f3)

  • This video should be retitled 'How NOT to Play Chess'

  • fuckin noob

  • @zvegasz lol

  • Bb5 at 2:52 would be a great move

  • i wonder just what audience this is aimed at.a well enough made vid but hardly a game worthy of study

  • these guys are new to chess, but nice analysis. tactics, tactics, tactics!

  • many better moves could of been executed

  • your videos are very helpful^^

  • liked the analysis =)

  • amateur

  • why the hell wood black take the knight when he cood strengthen defences AND save the rook. he says white shouldnt let black take the pawn on c3 from prepetual check because it wood lose the pawn...WTF?! whites up a rook!! if he can get out prepetual check i think a pawn is worth it!! and these 2 players both suck...both with wasting moves and bad advancement. black not even noticing his rook stranded on the A file unprotected

  • both player were novice

  • 24.Kf1?? f4! WAY to go - no draw here, white is toast.

25.e4 (more stubborn is Ne4, but still reaches a lost position).

25...Rd8! wins most quickly, but black's 25...Bxg5 is much better than your suggestion of perpetual check as well, and should win easily for black.

26.hxg5 Rd8 is again won for B. W can't protect his pawns and his rooks are having problems so the black Q, R, and B win easily.

W king is in a hopeless position there.

f3 is the first losing mistake by B. Somehow, he wins:)

  • Even after black's mistake of 21...f5, the game is very easy for him. Not winning, but he can't really be worse (try Nxf2 immediately. It works and gives a roughly level position in almost no moves at all.

There shouldn't be any struggle. Actually it is white who should be careful in his replies, as the continuation shows.

24.Kf1? should lose the game. Kf1, losing the pawn with check and all led to a position which should be equal.

  • Careful what you call a blunder. You call 20...Nd3 a blunder. No it isn't. It's just another way to win than the immediate Bxg5.

(White can never take the a8 rook anyway.

In this ...Nd3 Kf1 variation, for example, if black just continues 21...Bxg5 22.Qxa8? even just Nxf2 wins easily. Bishop on d2 threatened, g5 bishop joined the attack, black's queen is susceptible to discovered attacks with tempo on the white king. It's easily winning for black.

  • 16.Ng5 - I don't get what you call "mixing it up"`.

Chess isn't checkers. black can just ignore (and not play the ugly ...h5 he did either. just 16.exd4 would rip white apart (as well as remind white the knight remains hanging with no threats... at some point it will be taken.

Your idea of 18.Bb1 and Qc2 afterwards seems strange. you spend to moves and if black wants he just plays Ng6 and blocks everything. So you waste two moves and black defends with 1. Also, Your a1 rook is cut off now.

  • 7.Nb3 - indeed a bit strange.

After 13.Bd3 the simple 13...Qb6 defends the attacked pawn, adds support to black's a pawn which allows either removing the rook from that file to an active post or exchanging that pawn by advancing it (also avoids any tactics).

15.h4 - is not aggressive at all. IT has no threats, no potential breakthroughs, and doesn't gain any useful space. it DOES create a weakness for white. this move isn't mixing anything up.

  • The positiion at 6 minutes 45 is won for white as the queen is threataning the unguarded rook and checkmate on h7!

  • 0:31 - 39 is taht real?

  • I agree, definitely a beginner game (or perhaps a rapid game) because some of those tactics weren't tactics: the pawn fork, the hanging rook on a8.

I haven't drawn out the analysis of my opinion on this game, but I feel that white should've castled kingside (after the fork) instead of making wasteful bishop moves and possibly put some pressure on the queenside.

  • This is definately a beginner game... it's not bad in positional play at its level, but blundering a piece?

  • realistic, don't know of any games I've won that didn't have such mistakes sprinkled throughout, maybe just having no mistakes would win most amature games.

  • aburridooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

  • Many mistakes, not a good game to analyse my friend.but for beginners it is ok i think

  • at 7.34 black can easily win the game with: Bh3 with 2 threaths: 1) ...Rxa1 winning the queen if the bishop is taken 2) ...Qxg2+ Ke1 Qxh1 winning 2 rooks

  • have you seen the cool mafia style Sicilian defence chess designs on cafepress?

    It's at

    cafepress (dot) com/siciliandefence

mugs, bumper stickers and what not. Cool looking stuff.

  • josh is a good player. you 1100 rating assholes think you know real chess.

  • I play games. I don't understand much tactics.

I try to take more opponents peices than mine. Left with more pawns than opponent...I promote a pawn or two...and I force opponents king into a situation where he cannot defend himself.

  • This is like the worst game ever ._.

  • beauty is really in the eye of the beholder; even in beginner's games you can spot many great things

  • I don't want to be critical, but this is a remarkably unremarkable game. Don't you have better?

  • So you are being critical... why start your comment I don't want to be critical. Strange construct.

  • f5 wasnt a blunder....after qxr, Be6!!!!, Qf3 ,Rd8, Rd1, Bxb3, Qe2,BxR,KxR,Nf2 Check ,and Black wins both rooks

  • rb8??qb6, developing the queen, you dope!!!

  • bb5 stops the fork and gains a tempo you dope

  • Are you retarded?

  • i think for a beginner was your analys really great.

  • how does he suck idiot his analysin wat a beginers over look

  • you suck, sry

  • who sucks?

  • the game full of blunders .. iam a chess biggener... and no ... i didnt find this video very usefull :S ..

  • then your not watching hard enough

  • hes a bigginer!!!!!!!!

  • thanks for uploading

  • turned into a Colle

  • the reasdon why the knight shouldn't be taken is, afther 1)... hxg5 2) hxg5 Ne8? 3) Rh8+! Kxh8 4) Qh5+ Kg8 5) Qh7++ and not first play Bh7+:p

  • bg6 is not necessary in the side line. Rh8 straight away does the trick

  • he was talking 2 fast.

  • As much I like studying GM games to learn good tactics, it is just as useful to watch average or beginner games to see what moves are blunders and why.

Learning what NOT to do as well as learning what DOES work.

  • I am an enthusiastic beginner at chess. I could see that this was a poorly played game but actually that helped enormously. Learning what not to do is just as valid as watching examples of good chess playing.

The commentary was excellent, is it possible to send in notation from one of my online games for some of your incisive analysis?

  • beginners

  • is this chess corners?

  • Hilariously bad game.

  • I actually agree

  • You know what - you very so right. Yet, I love how he does the commentary - I'm serious if ya blind!

  • on bishop d3 could move to b5 n take hi knight n probaly his rook after poor by the player Cali iz active

  • Ng5 was brilliant... im surprised that white saw that and that black didn't bite.

  • great commentary, but the quality of the game was total $h!+

  • Beginner players, as mentioned but the person talking does a good job demonstrating the importance of double checking and triple checking the board before moving.

  • ???

Am I the only one who thinks white played a really bad game?

  • both played a horrible game!

  • dam this announcer is good..

  • \/ to pureabsurduty..

  • 3. e3??? what a noob!

  • yeah... umm, you're mentally retarded bud.

  • Thanks a lot! It was very intersiting to hear such an analisys!

  • I think the white player just got lucky with the Ng5 because I doubt that he could see that many moves in advance and also how he fell for those tactical blunders before.

Otherwise, good game. illustrative for how to analyze a chess game.

  • Draw my ass, black had an easy win even after he gifted you the rook, still as the say in chess, the player who makes the last mistake but one is the winner.

  • this is a big LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • thanks :)

  • Good advice for us beginners! Thanks.

  • Good advice for us beginners :).

  • very nice explain especially shown the mistakes ... 5 stars

  • White played the worst game I've ever seen. His first move was shaky, and from there it was terrible.

  • Oh I also saw more videos of these at

    videosearchtool(dot)info

  • DAMN NOOOBS

  • Each thing may have its value according to its level. This game gives usome useful advice for begginers. Threfore I don't understand the fuss about it. For those of us who understand betterm there are a lot of examplest at Chessbase DVDs, just to name one possibility.

  • Why would anyone like to see that?! A very weak game so the analysis can't be very interesting for any average player.

  • I just took up chess and this game has helped me more than analyzing Grandmaster play. Simply because the gradient is appropriate, its how I think about the game now. The more skilled games will come into play a bit later for me but this was invaluable.

  • Good grief - both players are complete crap!!

  • I liked how he allowed the mistakes to show! This helps average and below average players improve their game. More youtube chess producers should do this. He explained his thoughts well. I am glad he posted this chess Analysis.

  • umm... huh?

  • wow, some rediculous mistakes, This is kind of a low lvl play in my oppinion. Like missing a pawn fork and bishop takes b5 is unforgiveable at tournament lvls :P good analysis anyways ;)

  • completely rediculous and very low lvl. the analysis was alright it only covered a few tactics that were involved here but i noticed it also missed alot of possible moves for white and black both to win at different points or atleast gain a great advantage

  • Educating and interesting. Thanks for posting!

  • i love ur tactics man :-]

  • Wow, I'm no expert but eugh some really terrible play in this vid. And I mean *terrible*. Very good of you to add commentary to this game, sure it will be of assistance to the players.

  • hmm...the Ng5 tactic was cool...

  • Good analysis but as we say here the one-eyed beat the blind.

  • Wow, you're good! Good think I'm just starting so I'll never have to play somone as good as you! :D

  • Enjoyed the video though....just wanted to clear up a point I got called on before.

  • What rating would you say these guys are? I'm a regular guy, so some of the grand master & master commentarys often don't apply to games I play, so these are fun for me. Thanks.

  • These players were beginner to intermediate level players I would say.

  • as far as i know there is no "perpetual check"...it is called 3 repetions of position or repetion of position.

  • Perpetual check is real. I promise :)

  • looking at the FIDE rule book and drawing from my 50,000 + online games at USCL and now WCL,I can only find the ability to claim "repetition of position" or invocation of "the 50 move rule" to end the game in a draw....perpetual check can never happen in an official game of chess.

  • Yes, you're correct about the fifty move rule. When people talk about perpetual check, this is presumably how the game will end (or by repetition), but people refer to these situations as perpetual check.

  • Woah -- I was "Germ" at World Chess Network (WCN) and remember the Ng5

tactic (not necessarily from this game, but maybe).

  • Hmm...interesting coincidence although I think the player in this game was "Jerm."

  • great analysis, bad game. It is always easier to do analysis with poor games because there are just so many ways to improve,,, i implore you though, your analysis is very good, please move on to games with more depth and less blatant "newbish" errors.

  • I agree. Good comment. i second this.

  • I'm not sure why it's so good to use a game where white plays terribly as a teaching game, but whatever.

  • this is great

  • thanks man!!

  • you talk too fast

  • is that an online player or computer

  • Both players are real people :)

  • Hey wow that's cool. I'd never be able to think that up XD I'm such a beginner lawl.

  • Yeah there's nothing wrong with the analysis, better than some of the ones you get on here, where they go on for 3 minutes about a pawn move and then zip through 20 moves without explaining them at all.

Not particularly good game though, white made overlooking the fork worse, by doubling his pawns as well, he should have taken off c4 with the Bishop and then when D5 took back, just saving his Knight, would have been better.

  • I'm not understanding why people are complaining about the guy's video. He's simply giving his own personal analysis of the game.

If you don't want to watch, find something else!

  • Thanks for the support :)

  • ArubaG sucks great vid.....if u think its crap fuck off and dont watch it!!!!!

  • perpetual check my butt!!! he might be good for beginniers but anyone that knows how to play the game wouldnt be impressed

  • terrible ananlysis. B-g4 after queen chases white king to d4, is white attacking the queen while threatening mate. White would have to lose the Queen to protect against the mate his only response. this guy sucks

  • Great analysis. Keep it up dude.

  • sir how long have you been playing chess for

  • Great video! It's too bad most people commenting on this video lack the playing experience to appreciate it, but for me, it went down smoothly. Pretty crappy game, though, but you did a good job of pointing out what moves should have been made. Keep making videos!

  • Thanks for the support!

  • Is Jon Heder commentating this video?

  • damn just play! u dont need this bullshit who cares if u lose!?

  • Bunch of crap!!!!

  • Poorly played on both sides, in my opinion. The game is littered with mistakes. Were they under any time constraints?

  • white goes wrong at the very beginning (around about move 6)- the knight on d2 and the bishop are to support e3-e4. 7.e4 dxe4 8.Nxe4 Nxe4 9.Bxe4. You can do this here because black hasn't developed properly - The pawns are right but you needed the bishop on b7 and not the knight on c6, which is now in the way.

  • pretty good which website was this on?

  • This video is from chess-videos. See the more information posted near the video title on the left of the video.

  • The move on 1:19 was a lure, so it did make sense.

  • i think at the end of every video you should have a summary cause i have no clue whats going on til watching this the tenth time and even then i forget :)

  • Perhaps chess simply isn't for you? I mean, ten times and still don't grasp it, that's a bit too much.

  • fuckign hell chess nerds commenting i love you guys =p

your arguments are so clever i dont get any of it lol =p

  • Yup:)

  • Oh, I see kostet83 means the same. ;-)

  • 5:28

If black takes the night on g5:

hxg5, Nd7 and then there is no need for Bh7+

    White can immediately play Rh8+ Kxh8, Qh5+ Kg8, Qh7mate.

  • Black cannot take the bishop, because there's an open check by the rook h1.But actually Bh7+ Kh8 Bg6 are unnecessary moves since white can play Rh8+ at once(after black moves his N to d7) and checkmate by Kxh8 Qh5+ Kg8 Qh7#.

  • Time 5:45 BG6? PF7xBG6 I don't get it

  • White is playing the Colle system. The Nd2-b3 was a mistake the idea is to castle and push the e pawn. White is also looking to put the queen on e2 or c2, sacrifice the knight on d2 on e5 opening up the black bishop or possibly moving the knight on f3 to d5 backed up by f4. This system has the ability to open up and launch a strong kingside attack.
