Can you give me a few pointers on the tuning you used, and that progression you play initially, I can't get that last bit where you finish on the low E string?? there's a hammer on there i think, but can't quite get it....
if you have a link to an appropriate TAB, or some pointers, i'd be very much appreciative - thanks for sharing!
Hi, tried to answer earlier but kept getting error messages. Sorry. The only tuning change is the one you've noticed - the low E string drops to D. The best thing to do is visit dylanchords dot info, great site for Bob Dylan chords. Thanks for your comment and sorry about the delay :)
@BeatleUniversity Hi, it's an Epiphone, EF-500RA, Masterbilt series. Really great to play. The pick up is an L R Baggs M1 Active. Great sound too, but not used on this video. Thanks!
@everygrain3008 Masterbilt, the best kept "secret" in the acoustic world. I have a DR500M (with a soundhole pickup-an EMG ACS) and the sound is lovely
@danielguitar5150 It's great for strumming, though as you may know it's more fingerstyle-oriented. I can't fingerpick very well, so I simply strum it... and it sounds beautifully. To me it's a better-playing, better-sounding guitar than any other acoustic I've had or played -- quite a few, except for Gibsons or Martins, which I haven't played yet :(
Have you checked the Harmony Central reviews for the different Epiphone Masterbilts? Maybe that will help you. Good luck with your final choice!
thanks for the reply...yes i have actually been researching about this certain series for a couple months now :D
atm i have a dreadnought acoustic and i think i would be more comfortable playing the aj, but i feel playing the ef will be a very enjoyable, different experience
I am totally unfamiliar with this V neck. Someone explain it. It really is in the shape of a soft V?? How does it play compared to a Taylor or Martin or Larrivee??
Yes, the shape of a soft V (as opposed to the totally rounded shape of a C or a U). The feel of it is rather different. When you play chords, your thumb is often placed exactly on the outside of the angle of the V. You might try one and see how you like it. Never played Martins or Larrivees. I would say that on a a C-necked Taylor I often play it's "easier" to play chords than on this V-necked Epiphone. Maybe the V-neck takes a bit more effort from the player? I really love it anyway.
Thanks! Yes, it was an American ebay store, they shipped it to Europe for me, great service. I looked for the EF-500R or RA because I had read some great reviews of it on the net. I'd never played it, but the reviews were right, it's a great guitar. I hope I improve with it. I think you could try ebay stores too, good luck!
Hi, I love this guitar, fantastic tone and sustain. Mine was adjusted when I received it (bought it on an ebay store; I just added the LR Baggs pick up). You know it's got a V-neck. A friend of mine got an EF-500M, with a C-neck, and it plays very nicely too. Thanks!
awesome man, how are you liking the ef-500ra? im thinking about getting one (either it or a ef500r) also, did you have to make any adjustments to yours when you got it or was it good to go right when you got it?
insane good! *~[llll]
