Well I disagree. National socialism was not an ideal system but it was the right system for Germany at that time. It was an extreme response to the extreme socio-economic conditions of post-WW1, post-Versailles treaty Germany. I am an ethnic nationalist and I see nothing wrong with a people wanting to preserve itself and its way of life. And I do not long for war. War is sometimes a necessary evil but it's best avoided if possible. Hitler did all he could to avoid war with the western allies.

It was a matter of attack first or be attacked. You think Stalin had no plans of expansion into western Europe? When an American diplomat remarked to Stalin in 1945 that he must be grateful to see Russian troops in Berlin Stalin's curt response was "Tsar Alexander reached Paris". The communists had set themselves the goal of making all Europe communist. Hitler had set himself the goal of wiping communism off the face of the earth. This is why attacking Russia was always Hitler's intention.
