it has been doing it for a few years(had the car since new). I'm thinking that its the starter disengaging, but i could be wrong.

has the car always done this since you had it my dads 04 camry would make a funny noise when started in colder temps like this but his 07 that he has now will only do a slight noise if it is like in single digits outside
