Bought this last week and absolutely love it! Works with PC and it can actually read my handwriting! Can't wait for class to start so I can really put it to the test.
@waddyprocess get a real job, youtube troll oh wait you're gonna die trolling on youtube all your life. 24 and trolling, arent you proud. i'm done. later!
Next we will have a future pen that doubles up as spy camera, a film projector, media transmitter, a phone and a portable HAARP weapon ! Then end of the world as we know it. :-)
@Kiliankoe I just want people to know that my nine year old daughter (hullapoo) has dysgraphia. If you"re dysgraphic you can't write or spell and also effects her in math. It's hard thing for her to deal with at school and everyday life. We did get her this pen and it has been and will be helpful for her as a study tool. She is a BRIGHT child that is very sweet. She just was born with dysgraphia.
I'm a professor at Santa Monica College and would like your permission to use this video in demonstration on accessibility I do occasionally. It's very well done. Could you respond in comments or email me at:
@tompeters1949 Hey, you should message them through facebook or twitter. Or you can go on their website and click on 'contact us'. Just saying this in case they haven't emailed you, yet.
yeah i have one of these, its pretty useful when it comes to going back to your notes for studying. If you have a hard time learning straight from the book or just need something extra (your teachers words) for your studying (AND IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY) I would recommend getting one for sure. The only downside is how big it is, I feel like everyone is looking at me and my big pen with a screen on it.
There's an infrared camera inside the smartpen that reads the micro-dots on the dot paper. Each picture of these dots is decoded by smartpen software to provide an (x,y) coordinate pair, telling the smartpen exactly where the pen tip is on any given page. The smartpen's location, derived from the (x,y) coordinates, is interpreted by smartpen software, and mapped to an "application" in the smartpen. It tracks and remembers where ink is written, and knows the coordinates of items such as buttons.
This pen does not work as advertised. The software is buggy and the after sales support is terrible when it exists at all. If you buy this pen you will spend a frustrated week trying to get it to work before giving up, losing out on a couple of hundred dollars.
Does this pen convert the hand written notes into a printable text? Also can it translate your writing notes into another language.like Spanish, German, or French?
the pulse smartpen converts handwritten notes to text with software called myscript. right now there is a translator demo that can translate spanish, chinese, arabic and swedish, but i heard that theres an app store coming soon so they might have an app for german and french
The Pulse Smart Pen is great, as seen from the add and some other video reviews on youtube, but checking it's home page i realized that it uses dotted paper, which in my opinion is it's downfall. If it costs so much, and has an infra red 72img/s sec camera, the paper is useless.
I've had this pen for a while now... works great! It honestly does give you an edge when studying for those midterms or trying to remember what exactly was said in a meeting or something..
i used the code: SCRIBE5A25 when i bought it at livescribe-com
What is the audio like on the pen. Is it good for picking up voices across the classroom? I had a voice recorder once ($40) and all i ever got was static and and ambient noise and the professor was basically inaudble despite the class being quiet.
it's the same company. The guy who made the fly, broke off from that company and started this one. He wanted to focus on a more serious purpose for the technology, and less as a toy
this thing is crazy... i would have thought the tech in this thing would cost over $1000.. but its not even $200!! might be a good gift idea for students
I recently purchased a Pulse smartpen and it is the single best piece of technology in my life on par with my iPhone. If you are a student or frequently write notes on paper, you should have one.
lol, neither the iphone nor the livescribe are "best technologies".
The iphone (which I don't have; the T32 is much better) is just a regular smart phone, and the livescribe (which I do have) has potential but right now isn't anything special.
iPhone hating loser... The T32 is better for what? The iPhone has a much better screen and interface. It's screen is 10% bigger, the resolution is 50% better (480x320 instead of 320x240), yet it is smaller in all three dimensions, by 25% in thickness. Even though it's smaller though, it still has TWICE the standby and talk time of the T32, although it probably won't last as long since you'll be surfing the web or playing games on the beautiful screen. The interface is the killer though...
The iPhone in my opinion is only superior in terms of graphics (including video playback) and power in terms of MHz. However, the T32 is more user friendly in terms of being more "open". You can run any Windows Mobile program on it for free; it's got a replaceable battery (that lasts days for me; most apple users tell me theirs dies in less than one day), and it's not locked to a $50+ per month ATT plan. The apple is only good if you like watching videos (that's why I have a PSP...),
Could the pen read what notes you wrote, not the person talking?

damn... i thought these things recorded what you wrote so you could usb them over to a computer. this things seems useless now.

One question. Is it possible: you turn your pen on(without a noise) and press the remote button. Do you hear any voice.
It is very important because my teacher would hear the noice, if the pen does any noise at turning on?

no noise, the pen is fantastic but it's expensive.
