I agree with top comment. You're doing something creative and original. I am glad that i found this. The majority of any remixes coming out today, all seem to be dubstep. <--i am not a hater of it. Too many of them are poor is the issue, i will be checking out more of your work.
i like what you have added, but i only feel that the voice and the music dont match up all that well, if there was a little more harmony, i think this would be wonderful
ill be honest dude. i am probably one of the most hardcore nin fans and only very recently have i started accepting remixes in comparison to the real thing. this brought tears to my eyes. its beautiful! you did nin justice on this one. trent would be proud.
I like this version because I can imagine a moment in the possible Year Zero future where Trent is losing it in the horrible world he has to deal with. Imagine...the world completely falls apart and how f'n stressful it all is. And all that others would expect and ask of us during that time. Your song causes me to feel the depth of all those complicated emotions he would be feeling having to deal with a survivalistic world. Thank you for this remix.
in my humble opinion...you're really close on this one. There are parts of NIN that belong with the music and parts that don't. The images are great! Just focus on the melody of the music a little more and I'm on board. :)
Hey i was just wondering by chance if there was any way to send this to me or to download it , this song my fiance loves more then i can ever explain . It is amazing and she listens to it all the time , we just wish we could somehow get it on CD so we could take it with us wherever we go . Such a great mix whatever your doing your doing it right . my hotmail is kaz037_plowright@hotmail.com if you could be of any help thx and keep it up
This is a dam brilliant take on the original. Not only is the remix beautiful but haunting, the video which you crafted only crystallizes that affect even further in my mind. Can I download this anywhere?
i shutter just thinking about listening to this song...Sends chills down my spine everytime. Captures the true essence of pure innocence and at the same time the violence our world has to offer...thank you.
Did you say you "tried to paint a picture of the tranquility of everyday life being interrupted by chaotic events such as war"...
I guess I see stuff differently,
I'd suggest that the chaotic events of everyday life such as war needs to be interrupted, although not by tranquility, but by a *social* war that brings forth humanity and makes this world inhabitable to both human and animal critters alike.
I love what you've done with this song, I'm amazed it didn't get on the Y34R Z3R0 R3M1X album (if it was submitted. If not, it should have been). I love the tone of it, which the video compliments well.
so many people, even the pro's just mess about with the sound of the track, which is so easy, but you've actually done something original. Well done. The video suits the mood of the song as you have remixed it. I bow before a greater talent than my own.
Shit, dude. That remix was amazing. This is what remixes are supposed to be like! It's like the exact same song, but an entirely different song at the same time.
Awe inspiring. Music, showing the height of emotion and human tendency for self destruction. Provokes the question, do we deserve to be the dominant species of the planet? Thanks for the post, one of the better videos on YouTube...
right and wrong are perspective, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter, one man's starving farmer with a rifle is another man's evil communist revolutionary (go figure)
Very good stuff. I listened to your whole album and was seriously seriously impressed. You definitely equaled the original album, and maybe even surpassed it. Keep it up man. You should somehow get Trent to listen to it. It's amazing work.
i think its shit :S sorry if its ur work... but that songs a hateful piece of work.. the piano is sad.. not the same emotions... its like... kissing a girl you hate xD
Well it's unfortunate that you don't like it. However, I'm glad you got the gist of what I was going for. It's not supposed to sound like or represent the original Me, I'm Not, but rather a re-interpretation that explores new potential in Year Zero musically.
But hey, to each his own; Not everyone digs the same types of music, and maybe this just isn't your cup of tea. It's no skin off my back. Thanks for the comment though. :)
This is the strangest remix I heard since Aphex Twin's work on Bowie's "Heroes". I would never have thought this song could be interpreted like that. Great job!
this is a great remix dude... i wish you had a website or omethign that you shared the music file... its a great song.. i just can't say enough about this... good job..
this is a kick ass reinterpretation... i don't know how i'm going to do with my remix... did you use the included ableton or did you send the wavs to something else?
The only Wave file I used was the vocal track, which was layered over my instrumental after it was written. Everything but the vocals was created from scratch.
No problem! I mostly use Cakewalk for multitrack purposes and Sound Forge for anything else, but always keep your options open. Sometimes one program does something another program can't. If you're not sure about programs, I would suggest you find one with the best plugins that fit your style and invest in sound modules/libraries to make for the best mixing experiences. When you've got a good library, the programs become almost secondary. :)
what i dont get it.. it has nothing to do with 6 inch nails... and what is this supposed to be about?
