  • Hey there, I rock climb at my school, I'm the best in my class but I don't know if I simply suck at belaying or the kids in my class are just really heavy, when I belay I always get pulled into the wall, am I doing anything wrong?

  • as for any douche who sais you shoudl use a grigri. anyone who is not using a grigri EXACTLY like that is a fool.

  • at 1:24, I think he slid his hand up so far that he was out of break position, had they fallen at that point, HIS THUMB would have stopped their fall, as it went through the device. again 1:24 IS BAD> M'KAY

  • @Northernblades His off hand becomes the break hand when he is sliding his right hand up. It wouldn't have gone anywhere

  • ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS KEEP BOTH HANDS ON THE ROPE!!!! What the eff is he doing? >=(

  • @katieco09 The belay device is in the break position when he removes his hand. There is no danger.

  • @katieco09 what you on about, he always has his hand on the braking side of the rope there is no danger in this technique compared to others.

  • I dont like the "under slide" technique. When you slide your hand, if she was to take a massive fall, I'd want to have my right hand on the rope-end. The whole idea of sliding is GOOD, but you'd save time switching left and right.

  • Wow, finally someone who is belaying properly!!!

  • When it comes to belaying, I much prefer a gri gri

  • This (P-BUS) is flawless textbook belaying. But there are other ways to handle the rope as a belayer that are just as safe and effective. The Golden Rule is Never Lose Contact with the Brake End of the Rope and Always be Prepared to Bring the Brake End into the Lock Down Brake Position.

  • great job explaining the mechanics of belaying.

  • I haven't had a chance to use that type of atc, the rope is aligned linear to the belayer. I always have used the ones that line up perpendicular.... how do the ones in the video feel?

  • Nice job demonstrating the Belay technique.

  • this is awesome, thank you

  • 5-stars! - This is the safest way you can belay. Palms down resting in the brake position.
