@ilias2oo6 The thing that gets me is you actually think that saying GOD BLESS is implying that the pilot needed God to save his own ass. Why would you assume that? you clearly are not a catholic so maybe you should just stay out of something that you know nothing about. If there was a god, wouldnt you want to know that he was trying to make life easier on you rather than just letting you go on your own. People will always turn to evil but that doesnt mean there isnt some good up there too

People get all gushy about the Hudson landing. Yes, it was great that it was successful with no loss of life, but a water ditch landing is a common training subject with pilots. The real thing is that he was LUCKY as hell that the Hudson was there.
Why the hell I'm I watching this??? I just spent the last day trying to cure my phobia of Flying by taking 3 flights yesterday..... guess it's morbid obession
@yays0pEN What a truly lame piece of shit IMHO!!! In your comfortable little internet domain you have never seen the horror of an amazingly well designed aircraft full of people that has a catastrophic failure occur for what ever reason! What a loathsome lump of garbage you seem to be! Again! In my humble opinion! Bet you flunked arithmetic! I would have said math but you might be able to spell that!
Both pilots and the flight engineer survived the crash in the 1st clip. So "at least" you aren't hearing the scream from a person who was about to die. Still terrifying.
people who seem to laugh at these pilots who have died, don't forget the passengers. Anyway your an idiot to think it's funny. I'm a pilot so the next time your flying with me I will mention your name as we are going down,,,,,,OK!
@jordon1954 Only a moron would laugh about a plane crash. I'm also a pilot and there's nothing more enjoyable for me than flying --- oh well, except for listening to a great Buddy Holly song !
tower we have a controlling problem too, we are raising all the flaps, ooooh, (stalling) gear down, gear down (to crash in this neighborhood due they stalled spun into an apartment building) Hell, I though raising all flaps at low speed will increase stalling speed. and dropping gear will increase drag. Now I'm confused!
but, RIP El Al brothers. A 747 losing 3 engines its mostly fuel contamination. sabotaged?
@CFITOMAHAWK If I have the accident right, an engine fell away which caused the leading edge of the wing to break apart. As the rest of the wing was still intact, it provided enough lift to keep the plane flying, but barely. When the pilots slowed the plane down, the wing couldn't provide enough lift to balance the aircraft anymore and it rolled toward the damaged wing and dove into the ground. They had to slow the plane for flaps, so they were trying to reverse the action that caused the dive.
@fortitude3030 I commented about the El Al 747 that lost 3 engines at Schipholl shown at 2:32 on this video. I think you are talking about the DC-10 at Chicago that lost the left engine (engine departed from mounts completely) on take off and the slats got damaged by it flipping forward over the wing. That was a different accident not in this video.
I tell you what: The professionalism and the bearing exhibited by these pilots while staring their own mortality in the face is the most impressive thing I have ever seen.
The photo of the airliner over the beach is a normal landing at an airport in the Caribbean. I can't remember which one, but the runway threshhold is just beyond the public beach.
Is it just me, or does Sully's voice over the radio make him sound like the ultimate badass pilot. Like he's about 300 pounds with arms big enough to literally fly a large aircraft without needing any hydraulics.
The surviving crashes are because well trained professional pilots courage make it possible, even when they are a few seconds from their deaths they make the best they can to save lives, on the plain and on the ground and because of that they deserve our eternal respect & love.
Also better materials that can absorb lots of impact and vibration before braking, midair explosion & land crashing survivability. Research is in progress, not in this way mostly, but in the ways of comfort and luxury which are useless when the plain crashes but few security improvements are done eventually. Is the profit what it counts in this economy, so when WE'D start focusing on the human part rather than profit WE'RE gonna be SAFER. All in all aviation is kinda of safe.
Not all flights ended up in total death, the first one for example 14 died out of 108 passangers. saw another video where the plain due to a x-wind crashed one engine then flipped on its back, 3 died. Not all surviving crashes are this lucky sometimes about half the passengers die after the crash due to fuel ignition or injuries. Aviation is not optimal for me, many improvements should be done like onboard radar and GPS, plus a telemetry yo the runway and tower for better approach & landing.
crazy to think that for some of these pilots its the last time their voices were ever heard and they are now immortalized as "cockpit recordings of crashed planes"
To MrCriticOfAll: Human beings at the moment that death appears eminent panic in the worse possible way. What sane, rational person believes that type of behavior deserves public scurtiny? Do you get your jollies hearing people screaming in terrified hysteria in the last few seconds of their lives? If so, confine yourself to the local fright flicks and leave rational people alone. K6
To all these people who say that these recordings should not be here please dont. These tapes are a tribute to the heroism and courage shown by these crews and passengers in a really bad situation. To hide these recordings is to hide these peoples story, gruesome or not they deserve at least a memory.
The recording of the landing in the Hudson really impressed me, because it is clear that you have a number of people in different locations thinking very quickly and working very quickly to do the best they can to save lives.
@chrisman737 While it is very impressive how the tower workers worked quickly to contact one another...how many times did this pilot say "Unable" and "We're going to be in the Hudson" and the Air Traffic Controllers just did not seem to catch a freaking clue. Is it really that incredibly hard? He told them they lose both engines, yet they insisted on him flying back to another airport...with what, his arms? No thrust = plane goes down. Not sure why they didn't know that...
@jmr1068204 Actually, the controller,Patrick Hardin, did exactly what he was supposed to do; he kept presenting as many alternatives as possible. He wasn't "insisting" on directing Cactus 1549 to any airport or runway; he was simply offering the crew every available option.
@jmr1068204 I don't think they were insisting, just giving him options. Now it could have been distracting which could have been bad. But if I was flying that jet I'd want every option I could get.
Interesting video. However, the slow fade up of the text was really irritating and for some reason hard to follow. Spelling errors in description are abysmal too.
Also for recording 2 : Having twice walked the length of the cabin to confirm that no one remained inside after the plane had been evacuated, the captain was the last person to leave the aircraft.
that scream of first recording is staying in my head !! In my mind I'm thinking: "they didn't get injuried or died, they didn't get injuried or died" I feel so sad for those pilots :'(
@FINBaSs1234567890 I think the most scary part of life is the realization that we were nothing before we were born and there is no guarantee of life before birth. So to be alive is an incredibly impossible event considering the odds of the universe even being here.
I admire the air traffic controllers. How they keep so calm, cool and collected, I don't know.
In the second crash, when the plane went into the Hudson River (and everyone survived), you can hear the increasing alarm in the controllers voice, but he carries on doing his job effectively. It takes a special sort of person to do that!
"which one is right? Cactus 1529, 1539 or 1549???"
It's Cactus 1549, but imagine how nervous they must of been so it's completly understandable that they mixed it up. Fortunately all 155 people on board survived!
I have such respect for the pilots in how calm they remain and sound even though they know they are going to die. I dont know what i would sound like. Probably saying a few things for my family to hear before i go. Creepy stuff...
@Ilsimeone The airplane is the safest way to travel. AVG: Every 6 seconds a plane taakes off somewhere in the world. How many planes took off this year and how many crashed?
the desperation in the pilots voice, the one from schipol. its sooo sad. they knew it was a one way ticket. ....lord have mercy on them. rest in peace all who perished here.
Well, maybe "gcrafty", (whatever the fuck that is suppose to mean) you should just walk away, get another new account, and shut the fuck up, you cunt. O, and I am sure you "FUCK" you're self now and then and work, home, hell...maybe in public! So, next time you try to compete with me....I will slap you right back. PEACE, AND PROSPER.
One of the worst sounds is at around the 2:30 mark. The pilots realize that they have stalled and they are going down and then you hear a loud explosion. It's a miracle if anybody made it out alive.
Yes. The captain of the Hudson river crash was indeed a hero, even though he said that he was just doing his job. Well, everyone survived. Just like the Gimili crash in the early 80's in Manitoba (Canada), who lost power, and the front wheels could not deploy. This happened because of the metric system change. The fuelers did not (and could not understand) read the messerament of fuel right.
I watched the plane go down in San Diego. My mother was due to return on a PSA and I didn't find out that she was actually on a different plane for close to an hour.
No, this isn't "awesome". What would be "awesome" is if you had footage of some of these crashes. By awesome II mean really cool to watch but very sad as well.

Creepy stuff...
chonyc77 10 months ago
@chonyc77 The PSA pilot was really calm he saw his death and accepted it, sad that all those people died though.

It's a EFATO (engine failure after take off). You can tell because of the V speed call outs.

@Ilsimeone The airplane is the safest way to travel. AVG: Every 6 seconds a plane taakes off somewhere in the world. How many planes took off this year and how many crashed?

Well, maybe "gcrafty", (whatever the fuck that is suppose to mean) you should just walk away, get another new account, and shut the fuck up, you cunt. O, and I am sure you "FUCK" you're self now and then and work, home, hell...maybe in public! So, next time you try to compete with me....I will slap you right back. PEACE, AND PROSPER.
Ashenion22 1 year ago
One of the worst sounds is at around the 2:30 mark. The pilots realize that they have stalled and they are going down and then you hear a loud explosion. It's a miracle if anybody made it out alive.
cadirector 1 year ago
@cadirector Actually, I think that was them hitting the bridge and the water.
BettinaBalser 1 year ago

"We're gonna be in the hudson, please stop asking me what runway I want, I got no engines you dick"

Jesus you have to love Sully: "We're gonna
be in the Hudson" as calm as "We'll be
having ham for dinner tonight.." Ohh that
El Al was horrible..A Japan Air 747 had an
event like that I understand and made it,
Good post..

No, this isn't "awesome". What would be "awesome" is if you had footage of some of these crashes. By awesome II mean really cool to watch but very sad as well.
