  • you are to KInd, thank you.

  • oh my...i want to thank you so much for this..i left st joe in january and i've missed it soo much..krug park was my favorite place there and somedays i wish i could just drive through there and sit on my dad and I's bench and have that joyful feeling again..this made me relive so many happy moments...thank you soo much..makes me feel so close to home when i am so far away. <3

  • It would be really nice to have a restaurant there or near there again. I wish they were more interested in preserving what we have. They mainly seem to just want to build new attractions, and destroy the old. You are so right.

  • WOW, THE PEOPLE OF ST JOE HAVE SUCH A HISTORICAL, USEABLE ASSET RIGHT UNDER THERE NOSE....WHAT YOU ASK?? NOT ONLY THE PARK, BUT THEY NEED TO TURN THE CASTLE BACK INTO A RESTAURANT, YES A RESTAURANT! MY GRANDMA TOLD ME IT USED TO BE QUITE THE FANCY PLACE, WITH WONDERFUL FOOD. THE MAIN ENTRANCE WAS THE LARGE DOORS IN THE CENTER OF THE LAST TUNNEL THAT GOES UNDER THE CASTLE, ON THE RIGHT. AND ALL THE ARCHES UNDER THE PLAYGROUND OF THE CASTLE WERE THE WINDOWS. PEOPLE WOULD COME FROM MILES AROUND!!

  • Thank you

  • I love Krug Park. It's so awesome to hang out with people there. It's sad that it isn't like it used to be. I just graduated from Lafayette, and one of my history teachers had a slideshow where he showed us pictures of what it used to look like. It's really unrecognizable. It looked so much better. You know that the people who made Central Park in NY actually came and used it as an example for making a park. It still is amazing though. I'm glad you made a video of this.

  • I can remember family reunions, a wading pool for us children and wonderful long slides, climbing up through the "secret" passage way in the fountain, honking through the tunnel for good luck, feeding the huge goldfish at the entrance, watching my mother graduate in her 60s at the amphitheatre, wandering through the castle wondering what it might have been like in its hayday then taking my kids through there on Halloween. Sweet memories -Sharon Roberts Patching

  • Thanks for watching Sharon, It is such a special place. A resource that we must protect, and keep going for generations to come.

  • @bayoukayaker i just love krug park goooooooooood memories my friends were stupid enough to go into the tunnel {at number 1:45} and the door was open and my best friend kicked it in it really scared us!! we were walking holiday park during the day with a bunch of other people it was great!!!!

  • hey my names alyra krugh. i live in st joseph. no im not lying when i say this - the castle up at krug? my ancestors(great something i was never told the full story) started building the castle, but never finihed it and handed the land over to the goverment. thts when they built the rest of it. im seriously not joking. call me a liar but im not. starting at 200? thats the castle.

  • That is amazing. Many thanks to your ancestors, as it is a really excellent park and and hugh credit to the city of St. Joseph. Thank you

  • dont be thanking me. i didnt even know about untill i did a family history report. my gpa was german, and when he came over he had to translate his name to english, and then spell it so u could pronounce it rite in english. thats how we got krugh.

  • Wow - your Great Grandpa was Mr. Krug?? There is a book I found at the St. Joseph Museum on Krug Park - you would really like it

  • i lived in st joe 6 years ago and would always go through krug park petting geese and watching the turtles, good times :(

  • Thank you

  • This is great. Back in the 70's, my grandpa used to conduct a band at the Krug Bowl. (much like Lawrence Welk). We would sit in the grass, eat popcorn and listen until I'd fall asleep. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.

  • Thank you, I remember the bands and singers, a lot of local talent you are right, good memories.

  • Love the song choice!

    Great as usual :)
