  • The music was written by Ronald Binge, not André Rieu.

  • @sheilajoynes This version is played by André Rieu. So the artist is André Rieu and the composer is Ronald Binge.

  • Always liked the quiet, slightly unobtrusive, soldier-royal with the Scottish wife. His son the present Duke of Gloucester is a smart, thoroughly admirable, Cambridge-educated architect/scholar-royal.

  • This poor man. He worked very, very, hard.

In his later years he was having small strokes but he would be sent off, within days of an attack, to fulfill his duties. At times he was so ill that he didn't know where he was. But his obligations were never canceled. The members of the Royal Family of the present Queen's generation certainly earned their keep. I cannot imagine how the Queen manages her grueling schedule. She MUST be so very tired at times.

  • I understand he had several illigitimate children while living in Australia as a yound man. Correct? Can anyone verify.

  • @nanagore Never heard of such things. I know that he made a visit in Australia in 1934 but he was already in relationship with her then-wife, Lady Alice Montagu Douglas Scott (they got engaged and married the following year).

  • Why didn't you mention that he was Governor-General of Australia?

  • @histrav Actually I mentioned it in the information box. Just read please.

  • @lostsplendour Ah but it didn't get the splendid attention within the video itself that South Africa and Canada received in Princess Alice's, Countess of Athlone, video because her husband Prince Alexander of Teck was the Viceroy of the former and Governor-General of the latter.

Only joking. Excellent video as always.

  • He looks a lot like his older brother Bertie.

  • I think it is really amazing how much the present queen resembles her aunt Mary, the princess royal. Really neat. Nice videos Lostsplendour, good job.

  • I remember him well. I was at a function as a child where he made an opening speech. He had a very bad stammer but when he'd finished everyone cheered him and clapped. He was popular and looked like a really nice person.

  • never any gossip about henry. he was very handsome but not very bright. you have many pictures i have never seen. when he died, i remember, i knew nothing about him. thank you for this one.
