Great video. Awesome skills on everyone's part. The dude standing there, that bird coming in. I'd be running for cover. Seen some vids of helicopters crashing on flattops. Way to go U.S. Navy! The greatest ever.
Actually the pilot does watch the individual on the deck. An aircraft that large needs assistance in determining deck clearance and whether or not he has the entire aircraft aboard. A flight deck is hazardous, if they weren't needed they wouldn't be there.
So if you want to fly in the military, you have to have nearly perfect vision? In other words, you cannot fly if you require glasses or contacts? What if you get corrective surgery? Thanks in advance.
thanks, i always get my helo variants mixed up. always wanted to be a pilot, then i found out i need corrective lenses, so looks like thats out of the picture, for now...
I was A LSE for Hs-4.Brought a super stallion aboard and I was 125 lbs soaking wet. i floated then crashed on the non skid.Wont ever forget that day.Prop wash was in excess of 110 Mph.I got him on the deck and they had a 200 lb chief hold me down so I could direct the launch
Yeah, the big sponsors on the side are one way of telling, also the USMC is the only service that uses the CH-53, the Navy uses the MH-53 for mine countermeasures and for cargo.
@imustbebored2behere are you an abh? or where? well i am and you are obviously wrong or had no skills....lse yellow shirts control and own the flight deck...why is this because they work directly under the air boss...thats why the deck caller tell them when they can send them off....and if you knew the 2 signals pilots have to listen to regarless then your ignorance would be obsolete..hold and wave off or else its there as in court marshall if something went wrong.
@925explicit hey man i dont work on a ship ive been in country the whole time and they dont pay as much attention here but on a ship yes i understand that. for us taxiing in the states they are on the ground, on a ship you are taxiing them into a landing
@Vasquez1981 Whats even cooler is the fact that the pilots don't pay any attention to him 90% of the time lol. They listen to their crew chief in the back.
That not CH53E. That is MH53 Sea Stallion

The CH53 "E" is a Super-Stallion, not a "sea-stallion"

That's actually an MH-53E Sea Dragon. You were close. And the CH-53E is not called the Sea Stallion(that's the CH-53D), it is the Super Stallion.
