I loved this video. I had never heard the story about how Clair came to be written. I have loved the song since the first time I heard it. I never thought there was anything negative about the song. It was beautiful. I am 59 years old now and I hate the way society has changed. Every action and comment is analyzed for some hidden meaning. Thank you for this video response. Clair is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. No one seems to note that the theme is similar to that of the song The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane, which was a hit by The Ames Brothers in 1954. In both songs a surprise ending reveals that the person being sung about is a child. I think that Alone Again, Naturally followed by Clair is the best one-two punch in pop music history, rivaled only by, possibly, Don McLean's American Pie and Vincent.
