What kind of ammo are you guys using? You were getting some really impressive one-shot kills, which on an animal the size of some of those hogs, gave me a new-found respect for the round. I think I would have used my FAL for something like this, but you can have much more ammo on board in 5.56. I guess a Post-'86 Dealer Sample RPD would have been out of the question, then??

Hit counter 11... that's why you should be shooting a .270 MINIMUM for hogs. I'll keep my .308, .223 is good for urban combat and squirrels and that's about it IMHO.

Pick up something heavier than a .223 if you want some real stopping power. Personal favorite is the 30-06, but that's just me.
