  • "fight over" cause usually in a fight you find your opponent kneeling facing the other way.

  • EVERY

    TECHNIQUE

    HAS

    A

    WEAKNESS.

    ..SOME HAVE MORE!

  • @chrisgrinhard yeah, the counter to the rear naked is really easy... unless you're stuck in someones back mount...

  • @Hav0kftw this is true.

I was originally talking about the standing RNC variation though.

but I see what you're saying.

  • @chrisgrinhard Oh, I know haha, I was just supporting your statement that every technique has a weakness. Well... unless you combine stuff like a back mount and rnc then its pretty much over lol

  • Sleeper Hold

  • @ 0:25, does anybody even know what the formula in the upper right corner even models?

  • how do i know if the guy is out i dont want to kill the dude but at the same time i dont want him to just turn around and go for round 2?

  • @USERNAMEKLEMPTOR holding about 12 sec is enough to rest him

  • @USERNAMEKLEMPTOR ... When they stop moving... lol

  • Dan Severn made this variation of the choke famous in the UFC.

The various rear naked choke grips all have their time and place. Arguing which is better is a waste of time.

  • With arms like that, I don't think it matters which one is more effective! lol

  • Yeah these videos don't show the most effective ways, another bad one in these series is the triangle choke.

  • This is such a good move now iam going to use it in school like a real dumbass would ,

  • well i guess my enemy watched this vid b4 me ^TT

  • This is known as: "nutcracker" and it has benn used in Vietnam war mostly....

  • This shit ain't no RNC. It's Dan Severn RNC.

  • they dont show to grab the bicep to secure it or to control their body by putting in hooks or a body triangle

  • to get choked out be bloodchoke is a terrible feeling.. i remember i couldent remember what happened >.< thought i fell asleep lol

  • @loco320: Did your ass hurt after?

  • @TheEndKing it was recorded on a camera so...... pretty sure i didnt get raped x)

  • It Looks Like Two T-1000 Doing Gross, Inappropriate Things To Each Other....

AND I DO NOT WANT TO BE A PART OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I had this done to me by a friend the other day, felt like shit afterwards. This explains it. Still kinda feel like shit

  • meh, I think his mistake was holding his hands. because you can still pull his arm down, creating little room for blood flow. what I like to do is with the arm applying the choke, I'll use that to grab my free arms bicep. Then my free arm will go behind the victims head, holding onto my shoulder. it's more bjj style but I think it's more effective because it's harder to escape. You can't pull the arm down and it's hard to rotate towards the person choking you, because you'll twist your neck.

  • Probably the worst way to do it...

  • Takes less pressure to stop the blood then to squeze an orange.

Ok, now try squeezing an orange with your elbow's inside. This is stupid, do it like in judo, applying pressure on the trachea with wrist.

  • this thechnique is useless

  • Rear Naked Choke?

    The Reap?

    Horizontal Buttstroke?

These are sounding creepier and creepier by the minute

  • Horrible RNC, that's the alternate for when your opponent doesn't allow you to hook your arm in and put the arm behind his head for 100x more pressure than this. This is a waste of time and a very easy hold to break.

  • This is actually how the wanna be guys that come into the MMA gym do the rear naked choke... And they don't end up coming back after their first class... =P Jujitsu style is way better than this way, ask the Samurai.

  • The more popular one has the other arm pressing down on the back of the neck but the version shown here actually acts faster since it presses directly onto the carotid artery instead of stimulating choking with pushing down on the person's neck. There won't be as much discomfort and control, agreed, but it'll work faster. Whatever works for you, I guess.

  • hey guys what happend to ji---

  • ya this is wrong, don't care if he's a marine, there are faster and more efficient ways to do it, which is better in combat and grappling

  • People seem to think that techniques in military martial arts are inherently more dangerous than techniques in other arts, even if the military styles borrowed from the other arts in the first place. Military hand-to-hand combat training is designed to give soldiers an applicable amount of fighting ability; it won't turn them into killing machines. That's what the guns are for.

  • @ZachF3R Don't be foolish. MMA fighters use every variation of the choke, and a marine is also apt to use another variation in the heat of combat.

  • @ZachF3R So keeping your hands safe from getting pulled out of the choke and having more pressure is slower? Go soak your head.

  • The best way to do a sleeper hold is to wrap the strongest arm round the neck and tuck the wrist of that arm into the crook of the other arm. Then bend the other arm and put it behind your own head and push your head into the back of your opponents head. You're controlling the head and neck so the opponent can't back head you and also you can elevate the opponent easier applying more pressure. Also you're head pushes the person's head closer to the crook of the arm.

  • Whats the odds u can kill people doing this?

  • @stinkyringpeice If you hold it for 5 minutes, somewhere around 100%. If you hold it for 10 seconds (on a healthy person), about 0%. It's actually really safe to practice as long as you use the tap-out rule.

  • yeah, that's a terrible way to do a blood choke.

proper way: wrap arm around throat as shown, pull other arm perpendicular to the choking arm(like a "fuck you!" arm salute)

wrap other arm around choking arm to the back of their head

tuck it under your chin, apply forward pressure with second arm, choke with choking arm.

    out in seconds .=)

  • This hold is not so difficult to get out of providing you act fast. Marines and people with a knowledge of martial arts would apply a lock. The technique is the same only you grab your bicep instead of your wrist. With that arm you place the hand behind his head to control them. The aim is then to squeeze together, Also breath in and puff out your body, this applies added pressure, and put on right will have them out cold in under 10 seconds, probably 5 for most people. And they wont get out

  • Isn't this also called a sleeping hold? which term is correct?

  • @mesmorok101 They're both correct. People who actually train martial arts call it the Rear Naked Choke, but the general public knows it best as the Sleeper Hold.

  • oke i need someone to explain it to me, please just if u really got a clue about it.

I dont really understand how i use the pressure, do i pull him up or do just choke him?

  • @G00dfeIIa1 On the left and right side of your neck are arteries that deliver and return blood to the brain, if you squeeze those two points hard enough (which isn't very hard) it will cut the supply of blood to the brain causung the person to loose consciousness.

  • this fuckin commentators exxaggerate wats happens if u dont tap. i mean cmon if u dont tap from this the brain doesnt stop u just pass out for like 5 secs then wake up.

  • @tombodell22409 it can kill, after 4 minutes you get brain damage, after 5 mins id death. When you see people in ufc "wake up after 5 secs" it i sbecause they only hold the choke for about 10 seconds, the longer you hold it the longer it takes the blood to get back into the brain. You can't learn to fight just from listening to joe rogan.

  • @Mike1981j yeah ur right about the how long u hold it 4, n blood recovering to the brain. actually u can learn alot of joe rogan fight or non fight wise

  • @tombodell22409 I love rogan but I think he is more harmful when he tries to explain the move to everyone, it does help them understand what is going on more, but everyone thinks they can fight from listening to it lol.

  • @Mike1981j Put on correctly you can kill someone in seconds not minutes. A rear naked choke is a strangulation, it stops blood going to the brain, the brain without blood dies fast. A guillotine choke blocks the airflow to the lungs. This chokes the person and will render them unconcious quickly,(not as quick as a strangulation/blood choke) it is alot more painful. but takes a significantly longer time to kill someone, as there is oxygen still in the blood going to the brain.

  • other variation. Apply hand to bicept and other hand to back of the head or shoulder

  • guys don't do this to your mates

people can die from this happening to them

  • todella hyvin kerrottu ja näytetty :)

  • I never saw it done this way before, I'm JUST saying I'm not a computer warrior or whatever, but they do alot of stuff I learned not to do in my Jujitsu class and even my Kempo class.

  • god i hate the rear naked choke... but its much tighter if u wrap up like jiu jitsu grapplers and grab the opposite bicep then place your hand on the back of their head then use your head to pin your hand against their head... i hope that made sense? its also really difficult to get that deep of a choke on a struggling opponent

  • Im so glad i know how to get out of that

  • @Thekaratekid101 How do you?

  • @titboxx First grab on the persons arms naturally and pull down at the same dig your chin down so his inside elbow is not on your trachea but on your chin. Second say the opponent is right handed he has his right arm around your throat area now using your left hand grab his right fist while using your right hand lift up his elbow and push up while turning to his left where his hands would be and turn out and push away.Do this i a clean motion. Also elbow to his ribs to loosen the grip.

  • @Thekaratekid101 Thank you

  • @Thekaratekid101 one problem, in real life application we take the person to the ground, setting hooks. So even if you manage to break the lock, we've probably already broken your ribs, and if not, we're just going to move along to the next technique of our choosing. Or just grab our Kabar and drive it down through the throat.

  • @Bigp426 Im taking it that your a marine a deadly fighter. The steps i just went through with the other guy is formality for a real life situation that you probably were taught. And in a real life situation i wouldn't get a fight with a marine who has a Kabar..id do a smart thing and run.

  • @Thekaratekid101 lol. Your way does work the way their doing it, on the knees... and that's actually one of the better ways I've heard of getting out of it.

  • if you hold the choke will u kill the person ?

  • @salaeh10 yes

  • @salaeh10 yes, if you deprive the brain of oxygen long enough it can't sustain itself.

  • Why not elbow the face?

  • I did this in a fight before. I was born to be a Marine.

  • then cant you fall back and lock his legs?

  • couldnt someone just draw a knife and stab you if you tried pulling something like that?

  • @fartx211 you lose consciousness in under 6 seconds, doubt an average person would actually react fast enough.

  • @fartx211 obviously if you're aware they have a weapon... you're not exactly going to go "I can take this guy with just my hands." That being said, while you're doing it you do have to maintain awareness for weapons, which is why we set hooks, so that we can keep the enemy contained if we need to use our arms in another situation... i.e. a weapon, or a second attacker.

  • that was pretty much the worst way to do a rear naked... use your other elbow to lock it not your 2 hands

  • @eswainz

I don't think the point is to deprive them of air, that could cause permanent damage, I think it's to deprive them of blood.

  • @alex94539

But depriving them of blood deprives the brain of oxygen. That's the whole point of a blood choke.

  • @alex94539 you're half right. The blood carries oxygen, which the brain needs. You are correct in that this is not an air choke... thats why we bypass the airway by putting it in our elbow... it takes 8-13 seconds doing a blood choke, as opposed to 2-3 minutes doing an air choke. I'd rather spend 13 seconds tops, that way I can move on to the next guy trying to kill me...

  • so who do we credit for inviting this, the brazilians or the undefeated us marines???

  • This isn't really the best way to lock your arms...

  • This technique is not the safest as the pulling back on the wrist cause crushing of the windpipe which can end in a fatal injury. The MataLeo or rear naked choke with the figure 4 action as taught in BJJ is much safer.

  • @CLUB8U the marines probably use this to kill people silently not to win by submission

  • @commandopengi the only time we use this as a submission is in training. Otherwise it would be a very rare case when we need to detain someone. However that being said... we have better ways of detaining people. Like the wrist lock to come along, or wrist lock to escort, or wrist lock to takedown, with flexi cuffs to escort.

  • @commandopengi Not necessarily. In a proper choke hold, you want the windpipe open... Your opponent will actually fall unconscious more quickly this way. However with the windpipe untouched, sound can be made from the opponent... So quick, but not necessarily silent.

  • @commandopengi

It's not used to kill; it would take ~5m to kill somebody by stopping bloodflow to the brain.

But it takes only a few seconds to render them unconscious... and when they "come to" several minutes later they will have a splitting headache and be disoriented.

If you wish to kill them, you can do so at your leisure while they are unconscious.

  • @commandopengi It would take several minutes of holding the choke to actually kill someone. If you're close enough to enemy forces that you need a silent kill, you can't afford to sit there for several minutes. The marines use this to incapacitate an attacker harmlessly on missions that don't require lethal force.

  • @BradyKnight it can kill someone in 15 - 20 seconds. It cuts blood flow to the brain... It can cause massive brain damage as well.

  • @commandopengi Something to keep in mind is that the choke has the same potential for lethality whether done by a mixed martial artist or marine.

  • @commandopengi I think an air-choke is more likely to kill than a blood choke. Blood chokes are used by bouncers too. It's just to safely put the person to sleep but I guess a Marine would go beyond the sleep stage.

  • @tasneefm Not really, it can take up to 4 minutes of choking to kill somone. However with the rear naked choke hold, you pass out in 5-10 seconds and if you hold for around 18 seconds more then likely your victom is dead and best case he has brain damage.

  • @lolprodigys Oh.. what about those neck-snap moves that you see on movies like Bourne Identity?

  • @tasneefm That is not a choke hold, that would be to snap a neck. This is much harder to execute and requires alot of brute strength. With blood chokes, it requires minimal force, it is more about positioning. Blood chokes are very effective and are taught to nearly all military personnel in case of a hand to hand situation.

  • @lolprodigys Wow, I always thought that a blood choke would be the best self defense in a street fight with minimal damage to your opponent and you'd put em to sleep. I guess I better be careful how long I keep the squeeze for.

  • Very basic tan belt technique. Immediately taught the figure four choke hold after, which is much more effective.

  • Onw thing of this is wrong, you will pass out put you wont jam every bloodpipe to the brain. There is to bloodpipes in your neck and you only jam the pipes in your throught.

  • @anderrsss English is you second language is it not?

  • @anderrsss you only have cut off both arteries to stop blood getting into the brain, i think their on the sides of he neck, this move puts pressure on both of them. it doesn't do anything to the jugular veins and doesn't need to.

  • if someone does this to you and lets go before you go unconcious but really close is it in any way dangerous?

  • Going unconscious that way isn't even very dangerous, as long as it's not done too often.

  • awesome playlist mate

  • you have to use a triangle lock with your arms for the best results

  • takashiclan, we have that choke also, this is a "strong man grip" we call the other one the figure four choke

  • I study Jiu Jitsu and we have a Rear Naked Choke Technique, but we don't clasp hands, wetuck our hand under our biceps and lock the other arm behind the opponites head.

  • YOur way is a better one, since opponent cant hadbutt you like he could do here, directly in his face...

  • It works i know but you get more blood..

  • If its bullshit ask a marine to try it on you. And when you wake up. Come back and call it bullshit.

  • Bullshit, claping your arms and not controling his head just CALLS for a backward headbutt.

You will probably get knocked down, but... it's still the most bullshit way to apply it...

  • you dont know shit

  • actually that is a less effective way to do it, its better to controle the back of the head, and it helps apply pressure forward by doing so.

  • @alliancejokerjitsu look at the head placement in the animation... that's what we do. Either that way, or with the offhand.

  • Comment removed

  • @alliancejokerjitsu On the other hand, this one is easier to apply. It's good to know both versions of the rear naked choke.

  • @alliancejokerjitsu fuck off, anybody can grab the hand pushing the head forward! you gotta take the arm that's not choking your opponent, and grab your shoulder with it, and put your chin on top of that arm!

  • @alliancejokerjitsu this is first variation, the second one is grabbing the bicep/hand to back of the head....it shows it right after this (true RNC)

  • @alliancejokerjitsu

thats true, but its slower. just using arm is nearly instant. In just less than a second, an opponent can give warning to his allies, or pull a gun and shoot it.

  • @mofogie the fact there is no backhead control, makes it easier to escape...

The more you practice to do the choke the proper way, it'll be just as quick.

  • @thepivotforumcom To ensure you know, there are multiple types of chokes in MCMAP, and some do us control by pushing the back of the head down. But by pushing the back of the head down you cause the pressure of the choke to be located on the wind pipe. The wind pipe is an effective choke, but it takes much more time. If you perform it without the backhead pressure down as it is in this video, you can make the enemy pass out from blood loss to the brain within seconds if done correctly.

  • @TheXFactor2107 the way his arm is gripping the neck makes it harder to attack the wind pipe. The arm is a 'V' shape making it only cut the carotid attery's flow.

Also windpipe chokes are dangerous as shit. Also there is a difference between a choke and a strangle. strangle is cutting the blood flow, where as choke is cutting the air flow.

    as to why it's called a choke, I don't know O_O

  • @thepivotforumcom MCMAP is stupid sometimes in the sense of yeah it should not be called a choke. I guess in my last post I should have worded it differently. What i mean was that the choking moves in MCMAP that have pressure on the back of the head are meant for the wind pipe and the ones like the one in this video are meant for blood choke.

  • @alliancejokerjitsu

No this applies more pressure to the hold. This puts more pressure directly onto the carotid arteries. The regular hold just allows for more head control.

  • @alliancejokerjitsu isn't there a move called a 'full nelson' that would do that.

  • Yes, one of the most elite fighting forces in the world teaches their soldiers a move that doesn't work...that makes perfect sense doesn't it? I'm being sarcastic obviously.

  • Yes they are called veins and they deliver blood AWAY from the head. So if you cut off the arteries, no new blood is carried to the brain, only taken away until its a trickle and you loose con.

  • that's not even a rear naked choke, it's a double arm choke, in a rear naked choke the other arm is pushing on the back of the head with the choking arm grasping it's bicep to lock itself in

  • this choke blockes off the two arteries on both sides of the wind pipe if you are crushing the wind pipe you are doing in wrong they pass out from lack of blood to the head not air and as soon as you let go the blood will start flowing again if you hold it too lost the lack of blood will caus minor brain damage and and will make them urinate on themself while uncontious lol but dont hold it that long its not good

  • does this kill the person or puts them to sleep night night.. cuz ima do it to some kidd tommorrow at school well not some kid. he's my bestfriend lmfao

  • its no little kid head lock move, its bocks off all air, with a nuff preasure for a periode of time it can knock them out any longer you can kill them, for a better affect add an sciscor lock around the adominals to wind them as well

  • do it too long you'll kill him. apply to much pressure you'll kill him. but in a short while you may knock the person out but still risk killing him.

  • Also known as the sleeper hold...?

  • this wouldnt kill someone rite. just knock him out

  • It'll kill someone if you hold on for an inordinate amount of time. Same thing with drowning or choking on food or being on a noose.

  • your brain gets no blood.... you die

  • standard Judo Hadake Jime???

  • mal hecho

  • i do this all tha time to a frends this really works

  • dick

  • one day theyll hit you

  • Don't try that at home!

  • this happened to me when i was robbed. but it was worse because the guy stood up and lifted me from the ground! i didn't want to get knocked out so i just let them take my stuff... but i want to get them back!

  • Stfu you little brat, you'd cry for your mother if you were in a similar position, go back to your video games.

  • WRONG... when you reach around the neck your hand grabs your own bicep the other hand gets placed on the back of the opponents head.. makes a smaller hole so less brute strength is used and the person cant use the back of his head to break your face.. 3 seconds later and said opponent is unconscious.. also if your on the ground when applying the move make sure to get your hooks in for leverage and control just in case you dont have the move right and the person doesnt pass out right away

  • Also, with your other hand on the back of the head, you can try to pry their head upwards if their chin is tucked in, or you can push forward with it on the back of their head in order to "multiply" the force more.

  • nu uh right

  • dude you just told the marine core there wrong

  • they have a different way of applying it... in MMA you "lock" it in place by putting the chocking hand on your other arms bicep, and then placing that hand on the back of the head

  • We learned two types or rear blood chokes. The one in the video was a precursor to the "lock" one in your post.

Both of them are very basic blood chokes.

  • trust me this way is better bc the window of escapeing the subition is much smaller if you lock it in like that

  • actually, I got out of a lock like this one day... just before I got put to sleep with a Jiu Jitsu Rear Naked Choke... the Jiu Jitsu is more effective, but this is easyer to apply thats why they use it

  • like i said the window is smaller duznt mean the window isnt there there is a way out of every move

  • Actually ... in MCMAP they teach two rear Naked chokes. The Strong Arm as depicted here... and the figure four as you have stated w/ the bicep grabbing. BOTH are rear naked chokes.

  • in jail I ve been pu tin this hold.. I got away from this by quickly moving my body and arms around behind him and picking him up. He then put me in a guillotine chocke and I taped out.. he was my cell partner so it was all good.

  • It works ten times better if you clasp your arm in the crick of your elbow and use the free arm to push their head into the choke. Believe me I've knocked people out using that technique.

  • Ok guys if you get in a rear naked choke your hands are free!!! You got 8-10 seconds before passing out. Reach up and push your thumbs in his eyes! He'll let go and he wil be holdin his eyes if you do it hard enough. then attack! Im a junior Marine so thats some advice for you guys. It works..

  • Yeah, sure. And after I move my head out of the way of your thumb, I'll bite your ear off before you pass out.

  • You´re fucked up if you are on knees on that moment

  • its alot easier if u get a grip on ur bicep and make sure u force ur oppo's head into the V point at ur elbow

  • ARCH YOUR BACK!!!!! then he's dead -no seriously, arch your back and rip it if you have your legs right on the guys hips and you use him like a thigh master and squeeze the hell out of him with your legs as you arch your back and pull instant tap/death/disemboweling- whatever

    peace and love

  • Lol. At both 0:33 and 0:37, it sounds like he broke his neck.

  • well yeah that could sever the back of the neck, if your pulling up on it aswell it is plausable

  • Yeah, that's true. How are you supposed to snap someone's neck then?

  • i havent got the foggiest, most i can do is guess, id think youd yank up and twist?? i dont know lol alot of pressure though

  • That might work. But do it really fast so it would actually snap. I'll look it up on google. Lol, I don't even know why I want to look it up. I guess I've seen it a lot, so I'm interested in how it works.

  • lol yeah interesting to see i suppose, see what you can accomplish! lol

  • I looked it up, and it was all yoga stuff and how to crack your fingers and pop your neck and stuff. Didn't really help. lol.

  • lol i can crack my fingers and neck anyways :)

  • Lol, same here. I used to be able to crack my fingers really well, but my fingers started getting more cartilage, so they got thicker and more resilient. My sister can crack her fingers REALLY loudly. Dunno how, but she does. I can crack my neck, too. My friend can crack it so it sounds like someone just snapped it. It's weird, but funny.
