THE FUNK BABY. WITH MAIN INGREDIENTS LIKE: ZAPP, RODGER, CAMEO, FUNKADELICK, PARLAIMENT, BRASS CONSTRUCTION, PRINCE, JAMES BROWN, DAVID BOWE, SLAVE, BOOTSY COLLINS, SOS BAND, MICHAEL JACKSON, TOM TOM CLUB, THE COMMADORES, CHIC, EARTH WIND AND FIRE, OHIO PLAYERS, JOHNNY GUITAR WATSON, RICK JAMES, TINA MARIE, AND OTHER INGREDIENTS WHICH NONE ARE FILLERS, BUT MOST LIKELY COLORED FLAVORED BABY YA! MUCH LOVE TO CHOCOLATE CITY AND IT'S VINILLA SUBURBS AND OF COURSE THE MOTHERSHIP CONNECTION.
80's kickin it at san antone park by Lake Merritt on sundays hittin the switches, drinkin and dancin in the street,yep!80's was the lasttime i saw or heard from my partners and it was the last of an era of havin some space, fun, respect, alot of jailtime hahaha and you could get a job for me anywhere, construction and landscaping, and treework i was union for all three but quit because they started hiring non-union,immigrants,and a drop in my union pay,but listen to the old shisnik it takes me there B
In response to @SexyRosie67....i feel you....i can remember buying a alblum and fishing thru every track so you whould'nt feel like you missed something......and there was always a group, such as mass production....brass construction.....or earth wind and fire that had other tracks that never saw the light of day!!!!!.....but the beauty of it all is that ....I WAS THERE FROM THE BEGINNING.....AND OLD SKOOL STILL RULES FROM WHERE STAND!!
It would not surprise me in the slightest if at least half of this track works it's way into rap and R&B samples in the coming years, if it has not already. Great post
Too much good Funk, in the 70s Parliament, Kool and the Gang, Ohio Players, Commadores, James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, List goes on and on, Oh yeah, and one of the dudes that help start it Sly Stone.
OK. Now I remember this one back when Earth Wind and Fire came to Cleveland Ohio 1978, this was played during the break, thanks for the memories Brass Men
still remember the first time hearing this tune while stationed at fort hood texas at the electric eel night club in killeen texas. one of my favorite tunes back in 1979
@SexyRosie67 Unfortunately even in those days you had to wade thru the Bulls#$t before you got to hear good music
its even harder today, there arent many bands playing instruments its all samples and producers running the same formulas. And the groups that play instruments are sort of hit and miss cornballs.
@marilene11 The same here, Marilene. Right now I'm still a bit dizzy by the overdose of this I've just been through. Check also Yarbrough and Peoples' 'Don't stop the music' . O h wow, how I love this kind of music, black people really knew how to make 'em back then.
