WTF. If i was there instead, i would have so freakin yelled at fuckin Media. Why would you ask questions about his religion and background. Why is it that no one asks a whitey on to where he has came from and his background. That is just fucked up. As soon as we step into Canada, we are all Canadian regardless of our race or religion. Some whites are idiots. If whites think they are real Canadians, then lemme clear the air that other than Aboriginal ppl, all the other race are just as immigrants
@ilovemycountryafg You're a dick. All media people are assholes and yet you associate those traits with all white people. But only whites can be racist right? Fucking shit for brains.
all these comments prove what everyone already deep down knows. "white" people, are all would be nazi. give them enough propoganda, and they'd have no issue with blowing a child head off, because theyre jewish, muslim, negro, or native. get over yourselves, devils.
wht dose 90% of the comments are about religon he's a muslims... is not who give's a fuck why dose it eaven matter ...... is good player.... end of discussion
I do agree, he's grounded and that very well may be because of his religion. I'm just trying to prove that regardless of what ethnicity or religion you are, if you're good at something, you shouldn't be judged on any other basis.
Q. There are not many Muslims in hockey -- do you see this as a role for yourself and an athlete --
NAZEM KADRI: Yeah, I do, like I was saying before, being a role model is an important thing for me. When kids look up to you, it makes you feel a lot better in yourself, and hopefully these kids can look at me and kind of use me as a role model.
NAZEM KADRI: Yeah, that was back in high school, that was the MSA. It was a little club for kind of the Muslims in our school, so I thought it would be fun to kind of be a part of it.
You're missing the last few parts of the interview so I posted the transcript here:
Q. Was that ever a tough thing for you growing up playing hockey, having that name that was --
NAZEM KADRI: No, I don't think so. I don't think I noticed that too much.
You know, I think most of my teammates or all of my teammates treated me pretty equal, and you know, I have a lot of good friends of mine. I don't think the name was ever an issue, but so yeah, I didn't really focus on that too much.
Ha i saw him play with kitchener cause im from waterloo, one game when he scored a trick, i was jumpin for joy when the leafs selected and, sighned him, future as. capt and captain
