I use mostly the two overdrive channels of my Mesa Boogie Tremoverb, I have a Keeley BD-2 and Keeley MT-2 which I use thru a Hiwatt for overdrive stuff. I also have a Boss OD-3 and an SPF Ego Booster I use to push the tubes abit harder on both amps
hey dude, do you known where i can find the tabs for what you are playing? or did you make it up in a jam? and one quick Q: how do you keep what you played previously going like that? is it the pedal?
this pedal's a piece of shit, i got it for like 9 or 10 months brand new, and it started flipping out one day out of the blue, now it barely works. thanks line 6
Hey great vid, I saw a guy using this to loop himself beat-boxing and then played guitar over it. Do you know if that is possible out of the box or if he has somehow modified the unit?
I ordered this pedal and I will finally be able to play with it tomorrow. I think im just going to use it as a trippy delay and get a Digitech Jam-Man for loops. Too bad this DL4 doesnt have more looping features, but still seems pretty cool :)
the dd3 is better for strictly a digital delay. There is no other delay delay options like the dd7. I know this by simply looking at the two pedals. BOSS just isn't the best, kind of last resort to me. :/
All of my pedals are Boss. Although, I've been loving the Hold and analog. I noticed that it has a longer lasting hold mode than the DD-7. Everything for everyone's likings I guess.
Boss make decent digital delays in my opinion, they sound crisp and sterile as a digital delay should. The DD-7 has a tap tempo function which I feel is vital to any delay pedal on your board. I basically use my DD-3 for swell guitar parts with a volume pedal, so only ever have one setting dialled in.
There are better digital and analog delays on the market however.
I like all 3 pedals on my board DD-3, Nova and DL4 but for different reasons. If I couldonly have one however it would be my Nova delay. Most flexible of the three

I have never used a PN-2 so cant really comment, but it will produce a panning sound. I used a Line 6 Tap tremolo on on of your rcordings for a stereo pan effect.
The DL4 will give you ping pong and stereo delays which are similar.
In this vid that is an Epiphone Les Paul Standard with a fair amount of modifiations. My main guitar however is a PRS Singlecut 245 which I believe IMO to be better than the current crop of Gibson LP's
totally agree - i used to have a 2003 gibson and it was really quite awful. However, my 1990 gibson is quite nice... but yeah jealous of the singlecut.
Yeh I ahve played a few older LP's and they are great! If I ever see one going I will attempt to purchase! The PRS is well worth a look th, very nice guitar
Its a Delay Modeller. Line 6 have taken some of themore famous delay units and modelled them allowing access to similar sounds and vibes from one box. I has a 3 preset memory allowing you to save and recall 3 delay settings. It also has a loopp function which I am demonstrating in this video which allows to play something record it then play back to yourself allowing you to build up sounds liek this vid, or play a backing part and solo over it etc.
Yup. I play one wee riff, then hit the record button again which allows me to layer another iff over the top. I do that repeatedly to build up alot of layers. Great fun for playing around with new song ideas on your own. Also good if your the only guitarist in your band. I am not however, we have 3 guitarists
hey hipster...good stuff mate! looks like you're the line 6 dl4 pro on you tube! I just got a line 6 dl4 through the net, should be getting the mutha soon. I have a few questions for you matey!
Why do you use the boss delay effects instead of the line 6 dd4 delays? I don't know much about the pedal but don't the delays sound good on the dd4 or can't you use the delays on the dd4 while you loop?
AH! DUDE! YOU OWN A HIWATT!! I'm envious. Which one do you play? I'm dying to get one, but I just can't justify the 3k since my twin reverb is loud as hell already, so I can't imagine 100watt stack.
Yeh its really very loud, almost limitless headroom, great for playing clean stuff that still cuts thru despite my two band mates playin a 120watt Mesa Boogie Roadking and a 180 watt MesaBoogie Tri axis.
I have a vintage 1981 Lead 100head with EL34's. Sounds nice
Hahah, yeh sorry. Its a good way of turning new people onto our band. You would be surprised at how many people still ask if I play in a band on here!
I'm thinking of getting a Line 6 amp, probably a Spider III, but i've seen quite a few bad reviews bout them :\ I Play mainly rock and metal stuff so would you suggest getting a Flextone? Cause i have a marshall MG at the moment :| Which is terrible tbh.
Also how much was it? Cause im looking for something preferably less than £400 :]
Hey man, I use two heads in my main rig now a Hiwatt and Mesa Boogie, but I still use the Line 6 at home and for smaller gigs. I really liek the Flextone II i own. I have been using it for years, and its never let me down. The Flextone III is very good also, my two band mates who also use Mesa Boogie amps both still use theirs. If you buy a flex make sure you get the floorboard controller, its a must.
I am not however a huge fan or the spider amps. They are more limited and wouldnt be a huge step up from the Marshall ur currently playing. You should however look into the new Spider-Valve Line 6 have made with Bogner. It takes 12 Line 6 pre amp models and combines them with a Bogner tube section, its sounds excellent, defo worth a look and possibly holding off to save up for. Any other questions email me and I will do my best to answer if I can. Cheers
hey man - i have a spider 2 - was great you really like the spider's features and i know there's even more on the spider 3, but if your looking for tone and depth get an orange rockerverb, marshall vintagemodern, mesaboogie stilleto, or a bogner extascy 101b
I got a question im really looking into buying a line 6 dealy pedal but i hear that it has the tendency to break easily and some people call it unreliable at times im just wondering do you have problems with your time to time?
Iv had mine for about 2 years now. It gets rehearsed with at our studio twice a week, and gets giggied on average at least once a week, but as much as 3-4 times a week when I am busy. I have never had any problems with mine at all. I hav heard of other people online having problems but noone I know personally who has the pedal has had any problems.
Bro why is your rhythm fading away as you add loops to it? Mine dont, or are you playing on a amp that doesnt have the loop effects in & out or something? Maybe you have it hooked up as a direct line hook up like a regular pedal?
Na I hav it setup correctly dude, u can set the level of the loop playback, i have it set slightly lower for the purposes of the video so u can hear me add each loop part, before it merges into the background of the loop.
Wud you recommend the Line 6 Delay for a live situation??? Ive been limited to playing an acoustic at gigs as I play alone but id much prefer an electric...so realistically cud i record about 10 'songs' on it consisting of rhythm guitar, bass and drums so then at gigs i cud just do wat i like best and play lead guitar over the tracks?
Afraid nit dude. The looper is fairly limited, u cant pre record stuff en mass like that im afraid. Look into the Boss RC series pedals, something like the RC50.
somebody likes dredg a lot!!! sounds good man. reminds me of dredg all day long though. I run a drum machine through my DL4 as well, makes for a lot of cool shit. If ur feeling fiesty, get a whammy pedal and u can record "bass" parts with ur drums and then layer guitar on it. one man band!
a lonestar head. that's where this summer's money is going to. the cab will probably be around christmas. im really digging the 50w/100w switch. we've only got 1 venue (out of 4) with a PA in town (not counting to one sound guy's): it's really starting to sound frazzled.
and im looking at mesa boogies as my top end interests. hiwatts are neat but are much too exepensive; it'd be more cost efficient to just build myself a cab based on a hiwatt.
Well if your looking for a heavy sound, get a closed back 2x12 or 4x12 with V30's dude. Will give you the best bass response and big sound. Get the best cab you can afford, cabs make a HUGE difference to your tone. I am a big fan of the Mesa Boogie cabs, they have great build quality coupled with dense woods, so the tone produced is fantastic.
Hey craig, what's the deal if you have a 100w amp head and your speakers in your cabinet are rated lower at say 25, 35, or 50w? also, what are good speakers for a 100w amp?
Hey man, I use a 120watt Mesa Boogie Stereo Recto 2x12 cab. Mesa cabs are awesome.
If your using a 100watt amp with lower rating speakers, there is a good chance that you may blow the speaker cones. You should also be checking the ohm rating of your cab against the ohm rating output of our amp. Again if there is a mismatch here it could damage your amp and cab.
Always be careful with any gear mismatches, always read the product manuals to be safe.
As for a good cab for a 100watt head....again make sure whichever cab u buy can handle 100+ watts, and check that the ohms rating match the output of your amp.
Your next decision will need to be size, do u want a 1x12, 2x12 or 4x12? Do u need stereo or mono? Do you want open backed or closed backed? And which type of speaker voicing u looking for, V30's and C90's are the most common two. Then you will need to choose a manufacturer. Plus you need to take budget into consideration!
was also looking at seymour pickups. i was thinking a paired aph-1 set but i am worried that it might not have enough diversity. i'd preferably like to have at least one aph-1 in the neck but i don't know what else to put into the bridge. have you tried a paired aph-1 set? or know of a good bridge pickup to go with it?
I havent used that particular pickup myself. I do know that its commmon for people ti use it in both the neck and bridge position. I couldnt really comment on the otnal diversity of this setup having not tred it. I tend to pick a higher output pickup for the bridge and a lower output for the neck so I can get a bigger range of tones using the volume pot and tone pots of my guitar. Look at pairing the aph-1 with maybe the Pearly Gates or the Custom Custom.
OK....I would be looking to pick up a secondhand Mark IV 1x12 combo in that case. Three channels, clean, rhythm and lead, plus the EQ settings, very very flexible slightly complicated layout, but awesome amp.
Or the Lonestar combo, amazing clean, nice warm overdrive tones, takes a pedal really well for boosting/more gain.
Hey man, no need for an in depth opinion.....they are AWESOME, short simple answer! There is something for everyone on the Mesa Boogie range, from lovely clean amps, classic rock tones, blues tones, to big heavy metal tones etc!
Really depends what sort of sound you are looking for. I use a Tremoverb head which is an older dual recto, I use if for heavy and really heavy stuff. My bandmates use the Roadking series amp and a Tri Axis & 2:Ninety rack system. So we have a wide range of tones!
It takes a wee bit of practice I suppose. I generally play the riff once or twice to get in time, then as I start the repeat I hit the loop button on the first beat of the bar. It will then loop from there, I stop the recording on the first beat of the bar on the following repeat and add the layers one by one from there.
Its not that hard really once uv messed about with it for a few minutes dude.
To be honest i am not sure. I was just messing around when I made this vid. I normally only use the DD-3 set to a vry short delay time to fatten my clean channel. I use the TC Nova delay as my main delay pedal, andd the DL4 for looping and atmospheric delays. Sorry man
Can i ask something, Im planning on getting a dd-20 can you loop as much or close to what the dl4 does? Because i know dl4 has more buttons for loops.
From memory the DD-20 has memry for 23 seconds of dly, and u cn use the 'sound on sound' option to loop prts. The DL4 can loop 14 seconds or 28 seconds in half time ode and has buttons dedicated to looping when in this mode allowing u to record, play/stop, play once, reverse/half time the loop, so interface wise its probably slightly better and ha s alonger loop time. But neither pedal is designed as dedicated looper, its abit of an after thought so functionally they r limited loopers.
So what do you like better, the dd-20 or the dl4. Which one you think is better for atmospheric stuff. Im getting dd-20 anyway because my board can only fit it and dont want to risk the chance of dl4 breaking.
Well I like the DL4 more than the DD-20. But I prfer my TC Electronic Nova delay to both of them dude. I use the DL4 solely for atmospheric delay sounds and the loop. I use a DD-3 for a very short delay to fatten my clean channel, and the TC electronic for everything else, it has a 9 patch memory bank.
how many times you can add new loop-records?? and can you stop just the seconds loop between the first and the thirds still plays? [vinylfuture, nice guys and great music! = ) cheers!]
Hey man. U can continue to add an infinite number off loops dude. Its a fairly basic looper, so you cannot stop the second loop while the first and third continue. You have four buttons. 1- 'Record/Overdub' which starts the recording process each time. 2- 'Play/Stop' which stops the loop, and then restarts it again. 3-'Play Once' which plays the loop til the end then stops automatically. 4- '1/2 speed/reverse', which halfs the speed of the loop or reverses it.
You have 14 seconds of loop memory, but if you engage the 1/2 time mode before you hit record you can record a 28 seconds loop. Its a handy unit, I didnt buy it as a looper, but its proved quite a useful part of my setup. I play in a band with 3 guitarists so I only use it occasionally.
If your looking for a more detailed looper the Boss RC series pedals are great, the likes of the RC50 has tones of options for looping.
simply beautiful man!!!...could you message me your pedal board setup, please? I was planning on going the multi effects route, but after hearing this I want to do individual setup.
That LP is a plain top, i think. I have tried the Bogner-Line 6 Spider valve amp. I had a gowhen it first came out in te UK. oundd great for the money dude. Didnt sound as good as say my Mesa, butat that budget it would be a good investment.
You should try the Line6 Verbzilla man. It has a very cool sound on the OCTO mode. It´s very good to create atmospheres, and it sounds very cool with delay (echo), chorus, reverb, etc. Try it man!!!
Yeh, it will play ALL day. You can record a 14 sec loop in normal mode, or a 28 second loop in half time mode, the DL4 will then play it over and over until YOU tell it to stop. It will also store the last loop u played when u hit stop, and u can hit start to trigger it to play again.
HI, did u use only the dl-4 to make all that? I don't know if I'll buy it, cause of the sounds, I know there are a lot of functions, but idk if the sounds would be quite rigyht. Myabe equalization can fix that. Bye!
No there is a Boss DD-3 Digital delay and a Boss RV-5 Reverb on this vid too dude. The DL4 is used purely as a looper here. I also switch channels on my amp and use a volume pedal.
The DL4 is a cool pedal, I have been very happy with it.
We are mastering our first EP at the moment dude, its called 'Airport Syndrome' five track effort. There is a teaser mp3 available on our myspace. It will be available to buy as a cd or mp3 download in a few months.
i wanted to know if you only play with the dl4 for the song or if you use other pedal, because i love the sound of your guitar at the beginning !!!please answer me.
and yeah it sounds lot like explosions in the sky !
Hey man, there is a Boss DD3 Delay pedal and an RV-5 reverb pedal connected to the fx loop of my amp which is on its clean channel. The DL4 is used purely as a loop pedal in this vid dude. I use the volume and tone knobs and different pickups to alter the tones slightly between some of the guitar parts. Hope that helps.
I immediately have respect for you by seeing that radiohead poster

which one its better the dd20, the dd7, the ibanez analog delay or the dl4 line 6?
plz answer
thx
Juanjolead 2 years ago
Well the Ibanez is the most limited of all, it's just analog and can only do a short time delay.
The DL4 has every delay sound imaginable plus a looper, so out of those the DL4 is the best(but also the most expensive).

Thanks in advance :)
JamesMarlow92 3 years ago
Hey man, I use two heads in my main rig now a Hiwatt and Mesa Boogie, but I still use the Line 6 at home and for smaller gigs. I really liek the Flextone II i own. I have been using it for years, and its never let me down. The Flextone III is very good also, my two band mates who also use Mesa Boogie amps both still use theirs. If you buy a flex make sure you get the floorboard controller, its a must.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
I am not however a huge fan or the spider amps. They are more limited and wouldnt be a huge step up from the Marshall ur currently playing. You should however look into the new Spider-Valve Line 6 have made with Bogner. It takes 12 Line 6 pre amp models and combines them with a Bogner tube section, its sounds excellent, defo worth a look and possibly holding off to save up for. Any other questions email me and I will do my best to answer if I can. Cheers
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
hey man - i have a spider 2 - was great you really like the spider's features and i know there's even more on the spider 3, but if your looking for tone and depth get an orange rockerverb, marshall vintagemodern, mesaboogie stilleto, or a bogner extascy 101b

I got a question im really looking into buying a line 6 dealy pedal but i hear that it has the tendency to break easily and some people call it unreliable at times im just wondering do you have problems with your time to time?
gardennome90 3 years ago
Iv had mine for about 2 years now. It gets rehearsed with at our studio twice a week, and gets giggied on average at least once a week, but as much as 3-4 times a week when I am busy. I have never had any problems with mine at all. I hav heard of other people online having problems but noone I know personally who has the pedal has had any problems.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
I had a problem with the switches in mine and had to get the replaced. I still love the pedal though.

great demonstration bro..love it..
davinaskwlsg3lf 3 years ago
Bro why is your rhythm fading away as you add loops to it? Mine dont, or are you playing on a amp that doesnt have the loop effects in & out or something? Maybe you have it hooked up as a direct line hook up like a regular pedal?
DreidMusicalX 3 years ago
Na I hav it setup correctly dude, u can set the level of the loop playback, i have it set slightly lower for the purposes of the video so u can hear me add each loop part, before it merges into the background of the loop.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
Is this a loop station too?
SRVisthebest 3 years ago
It has a basic loop function yes.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
Wud you recommend the Line 6 Delay for a live situation??? Ive been limited to playing an acoustic at gigs as I play alone but id much prefer an electric...so realistically cud i record about 10 'songs' on it consisting of rhythm guitar, bass and drums so then at gigs i cud just do wat i like best and play lead guitar over the tracks?
lanod321 3 years ago
Afraid nit dude. The looper is fairly limited, u cant pre record stuff en mass like that im afraid. Look into the Boss RC series pedals, something like the RC50.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
somebody likes dredg a lot!!! sounds good man. reminds me of dredg all day long though. I run a drum machine through my DL4 as well, makes for a lot of cool shit. If ur feeling fiesty, get a whammy pedal and u can record "bass" parts with ur drums and then layer guitar on it. one man band!
zumbigod 3 years ago 2
Havent really heard any Dredg dude, will be sure to check them out. Cheers
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
this is really progressive, gb... yeah!!!!
julantro 3 years ago
a lonestar head. that's where this summer's money is going to. the cab will probably be around christmas. im really digging the 50w/100w switch. we've only got 1 venue (out of 4) with a PA in town (not counting to one sound guy's): it's really starting to sound frazzled.
SmilingKnife2 3 years ago
and im looking at mesa boogies as my top end interests. hiwatts are neat but are much too exepensive; it'd be more cost efficient to just build myself a cab based on a hiwatt.
SmilingKnife2 3 years ago
Yeh look into the mesa stuff man. What amp are u gonna be running thru the cab?
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
okie doke. pros cons of open/closed backed cabs? what does a jensen, V30, C90 sound like? what kind of speaker will give me a heavy sound?
SmilingKnife2 3 years ago
Well if your looking for a heavy sound, get a closed back 2x12 or 4x12 with V30's dude. Will give you the best bass response and big sound. Get the best cab you can afford, cabs make a HUGE difference to your tone. I am a big fan of the Mesa Boogie cabs, they have great build quality coupled with dense woods, so the tone produced is fantastic.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
Hey craig, what's the deal if you have a 100w amp head and your speakers in your cabinet are rated lower at say 25, 35, or 50w? also, what are good speakers for a 100w amp?
SmilingKnife2 3 years ago
Hey man, I use a 120watt Mesa Boogie Stereo Recto 2x12 cab. Mesa cabs are awesome.
If your using a 100watt amp with lower rating speakers, there is a good chance that you may blow the speaker cones. You should also be checking the ohm rating of your cab against the ohm rating output of our amp. Again if there is a mismatch here it could damage your amp and cab.
Always be careful with any gear mismatches, always read the product manuals to be safe.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
As for a good cab for a 100watt head....again make sure whichever cab u buy can handle 100+ watts, and check that the ohms rating match the output of your amp.
Your next decision will need to be size, do u want a 1x12, 2x12 or 4x12? Do u need stereo or mono? Do you want open backed or closed backed? And which type of speaker voicing u looking for, V30's and C90's are the most common two. Then you will need to choose a manufacturer. Plus you need to take budget into consideration!
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
ah k. that should work for me. i don't like getting my distortion from pickups. that's what pedals and great amps are for! :D
thanks.
SmilingKnife2 3 years ago
what do you use for your neck? (curious).
SmilingKnife2 3 years ago
bridge*, sorry.
SmilingKnife2 3 years ago
bridge i tend to use the JB model. Sounds awesome.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
good choice Jb pickup
fatblckchick 3 years ago
was also looking at seymour pickups. i was thinking a paired aph-1 set but i am worried that it might not have enough diversity. i'd preferably like to have at least one aph-1 in the neck but i don't know what else to put into the bridge. have you tried a paired aph-1 set? or know of a good bridge pickup to go with it?
SmilingKnife2 3 years ago
I havent used that particular pickup myself. I do know that its commmon for people ti use it in both the neck and bridge position. I couldnt really comment on the otnal diversity of this setup having not tred it. I tend to pick a higher output pickup for the bridge and a lower output for the neck so I can get a bigger range of tones using the volume pot and tone pots of my guitar. Look at pairing the aph-1 with maybe the Pearly Gates or the Custom Custom.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
and that'll give me a godspeed you black emperor kind of sound?
SmilingKnife2 3 years ago
Dunno what they use dude. Nice clean and lots of effects I think, so yeh.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
im aiming for a bluesy/prog sound :)
SmilingKnife2 3 years ago
OK....I would be looking to pick up a secondhand Mark IV 1x12 combo in that case. Three channels, clean, rhythm and lead, plus the EQ settings, very very flexible slightly complicated layout, but awesome amp.
Or the Lonestar combo, amazing clean, nice warm overdrive tones, takes a pedal really well for boosting/more gain.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
Hey Craig. I'm looking into mesa boogies right now and was wondering if you could give me a indepth opinion on them.
SmilingKnife2 3 years ago
Hey man, no need for an in depth opinion.....they are AWESOME, short simple answer! There is something for everyone on the Mesa Boogie range, from lovely clean amps, classic rock tones, blues tones, to big heavy metal tones etc!
Really depends what sort of sound you are looking for. I use a Tremoverb head which is an older dual recto, I use if for heavy and really heavy stuff. My bandmates use the Roadking series amp and a Tri Axis & 2:Ninety rack system. So we have a wide range of tones!
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
TABS?^^ hehe, nice work dude. gimme tabs?

craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
when u loop
how do u start a loop?
like i no how to do a loop im asking like
how do u start it like
do u start playing first a couple times
then loop then layer it?
or loop first then just layer it
i tried playing this on the dl4 yesterday at guitar center...it was a ....epic fail for me
StanwoodSpartans 3 years ago
It takes a wee bit of practice I suppose. I generally play the riff once or twice to get in time, then as I start the repeat I hit the loop button on the first beat of the bar. It will then loop from there, I stop the recording on the first beat of the bar on the following repeat and add the layers one by one from there.
Its not that hard really once uv messed about with it for a few minutes dude.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
on the dd3 do u use the 800ms?
in this vid
ic300x 3 years ago
To be honest i am not sure. I was just messing around when I made this vid. I normally only use the DD-3 set to a vry short delay time to fatten my clean channel. I use the TC Nova delay as my main delay pedal, andd the DL4 for looping and atmospheric delays. Sorry man
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
How come your not in a big band Like Radiohead and be the next Jonny greenwood like Russell lissack? Just kidding dude but you sound like a greenwood
x
Tsuekasa 3 years ago
Thanks man, I am a big Radiohead fan!
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
Can i ask something, Im planning on getting a dd-20 can you loop as much or close to what the dl4 does? Because i know dl4 has more buttons for loops.
Tsuekasa 3 years ago
From memory the DD-20 has memry for 23 seconds of dly, and u cn use the 'sound on sound' option to loop prts. The DL4 can loop 14 seconds or 28 seconds in half time ode and has buttons dedicated to looping when in this mode allowing u to record, play/stop, play once, reverse/half time the loop, so interface wise its probably slightly better and ha s alonger loop time. But neither pedal is designed as dedicated looper, its abit of an after thought so functionally they r limited loopers.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
So what do you like better, the dd-20 or the dl4. Which one you think is better for atmospheric stuff. Im getting dd-20 anyway because my board can only fit it and dont want to risk the chance of dl4 breaking.
Tsuekasa 3 years ago
Well I like the DL4 more than the DD-20. But I prfer my TC Electronic Nova delay to both of them dude. I use the DL4 solely for atmospheric delay sounds and the loop. I use a DD-3 for a very short delay to fatten my clean channel, and the TC electronic for everything else, it has a 9 patch memory bank.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
yep! craig, thanks for the explanation!! = )
FaberGray 3 years ago
how many times you can add new loop-records?? and can you stop just the seconds loop between the first and the thirds still plays? [vinylfuture, nice guys and great music! = ) cheers!]
FaberGray 3 years ago
4- '1/2 speed/reverse', which halfs the speed of the loop or reverses it.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
You have 14 seconds of loop memory, but if you engage the 1/2 time mode before you hit record you can record a 28 seconds loop. Its a handy unit, I didnt buy it as a looper, but its proved quite a useful part of my setup. I play in a band with 3 guitarists so I only use it occasionally.
If your looking for a more detailed looper the Boss RC series pedals are great, the likes of the RC50 has tones of options for looping.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
The DL4 is primarily a delay pedal, and just happens to have a built in looper, so doesnt have the same flexability.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
Ooooh and thanks for the kind words about the band! Cheers, hope that ramble helps in some way
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
wut volume pedal do you use?

Ernie Ball volume pedal dude

=) allright
but which one?
ernie ball has like 5 volume pedals
ic300x 3 years ago
PO 6165. The larger stereo one. Was using a friends VP JNR in a few of the vids alos, thats quite a nice pedal also. They are all good.

are you using the epi les paul standard plain top or plus top? and have you tried the line 6 spider valve?or just the flex tone...plz answer
metallicarocks66 3 years ago
That LP is a plain top, i think. I have tried the Bogner-Line 6 Spider valve amp. I had a gowhen it first came out in te UK. oundd great for the money dude. Didnt sound as good as say my Mesa, butat that budget it would be a good investment.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
You should try the Line6 Verbzilla man. It has a very cool sound on the OCTO mode. It´s very good to create atmospheres, and it sounds very cool with delay (echo), chorus, reverb, etc. Try it man!!!
PortGuitarPlayer4 3 years ago
I have tried it dude. Tried it out when I bought my RV-5. It is a cool pedal, but the V-5 caught my ear!
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
nice work. keep it up. nice radiohead poster by the way!
enjoyurrabbit 3 years ago
How long can the DL4 play a loop? Like if I recorded a 10 second part, in theory could it play that part all day long?
moviescolin 3 years ago
Yeh, it will play ALL day. You can record a 14 sec loop in normal mode, or a 28 second loop in half time mode, the DL4 will then play it over and over until YOU tell it to stop. It will also store the last loop u played when u hit stop, and u can hit start to trigger it to play again.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
NICE. Sounds like I might have to invest into one.
moviescolin 3 years ago
HI, did u use only the dl-4 to make all that? I don't know if I'll buy it, cause of the sounds, I know there are a lot of functions, but idk if the sounds would be quite rigyht. Myabe equalization can fix that. Bye!
LeCapital 3 years ago
No there is a Boss DD-3 Digital delay and a Boss RV-5 Reverb on this vid too dude. The DL4 is used purely as a looper here. I also switch channels on my amp and use a volume pedal.
The DL4 is a cool pedal, I have been very happy with it.
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
does your band have albums available or what?
im sure if i wasn't really lazy i could find out on one of your other videos.
great looping, great video, as usual.

hey great song man
i wanted to know if you only play with the dl4 for the song or if you use other pedal, because i love the sound of your guitar at the beginning !!!please answer me.
and yeah it sounds lot like explosions in the sky !
fakeplastic2007 4 years ago
Hey man, there is a Boss DD3 Delay pedal and an RV-5 reverb pedal connected to the fx loop of my amp which is on its clean channel. The DL4 is used purely as a loop pedal in this vid dude. I use the volume and tone knobs and different pickups to alter the tones slightly between some of the guitar parts. Hope that helps.
