  • @whiteyr44 when you say 'dusted', do they come like that from the pet store or do i have to do something to them?

  • @TheComediatics Dusted with calcium powder by me.

  • Can't they eat egg as a stable?

  • @TheComediatics No, it is too rich in protein and other nutrients, as a treat now and then they are perfect though... but keep to mostly dusted insects supplemented with lean meat, eggs and mice.

  • I have been thinking about geting another lizard and have been looking at the savana monitors. Do you use uvb or just uv lighting in your cages. I have read a few things online saying uvb is not need because of their diet. Is this true?

  • @animalman04 This is a controversial subject, honestly if you feed solely whole mice then they may not need UVB but as you know a diet comprised of just mice is bad for the lizard, dusted insects are the best... and I couldn't recommend a UVB light enough.

If you do feed a lot of mice, keep the temps up real high... to counteract the cons to feeding this sort of diet.. in my opinion, they need to feed mostly on insects.

  • someone said to me to feed them with chicken liver, is that a good thing? or healthy?

  • @hasanarkan It can't hurt as a treat, definately not advisable as a staple, check my caresheet in the description.

  • ok thanks, someone told me to feed them with chicken liver. is that a good thing? healthy?

  • what are you feeding them normally? and when they were smaller like- 2-3 months old

  • @hasanarkan Gut loaded crickets, locusts, spiders, earthworms, chunks of lean meat etc... mainly crickets though.

  • you do the same thing i do and the people that are around me when i do that will be like why you calling him like a dog well your not its more your just trying to get and keep there attention because these guys do as they please so if your able to pet them and hold them they got a lot of trust with you but its hard to explain to a person who dont have or is not familiar with monitors

  • @yahhtrick1000 Exactly, thats exactly why.

Go watch some of my friend Bigboys videos, his monitors respond to his calls.

I have his channel linked on my main page.

  • Good effort nice to see a healthy and curious Bosc, info is spot on.

Just to add at that age substrate depth should be around 8inches for a burrow.

  • Pause at 0.55 , Tasty hand!!!
