@ML678v No, forked tongue is the language mostly used by the un-elected commission and Playmobil "parliament". Remember when the Irish voted NO to the Lisbon treaty : "The commission respects the Irish no vote, but....."
"The best experts can always be sent to discussions". hahha what a joke. Like the wonderful Cathy Ashton who has never had a proper job in her entire life and never been elected to anything either, yet shes going around telling people about "democracy". What a joke. This video was probably made with the help of Kim Jong Il.
@financialtools1 Youtube is asking for my phone number to log in,I can no longer log in with my main channel because of this, more precisely I refuse to give my phone number to youtube!
Europe should preserve its rich and DIVERSE culture! For me It's not desireable to abolish the many national languages in favor of one pan european language. But we should promote language lerning. Especially in the UK.
There'll never be a lingua franca in Europe untill some real threat or crisis occur and give them the urgence to unite. So no common language could be adopted in foreseealbe future, especially an artificial one.
It's funny that the video was made out of a Chinese documentary. Adopting Chinese could be an option in a far future, along with English.
@JAMD456 I do not know if it is due my lack of inter-continental travelling - because I have only travelled in Europe so far - but I never felt like having problems communicating with people. In Berlin I had a conversation with a chef in a restaurant, my boyfriend in has talked in Barcelona with someone as well. In Italy, we could communicate using German ánd English. I live in the Netherlands near the German border, but that doesn't stop me from shopping there. And I do learn a Asian language!
Adopting the English language would never be accepted by French, German or Italian speaking countries due to past European conflicts and wars. That is why a new European language should be created in order to increase European integration the same way we adopted the Euro as a common currency and did not go for the GPB for example. @Martin4957 Read up on Esperanto. It doesn't work.
There is nothing wrong, negative, or harmful about exposing oneself to other cultures and languages. Preserving all that richness is something worth investing effort in.
Why don't we use one language for all? A new language created from all existing languages, exactly the way we created the Euro... Please view our site : one-europe-one-language .eu
@Martin4957 We could just adopt English, due to the British Empire it is global it would be the most efficient way of dealing with things requiring less time, lest cost and more useful on the world stage, Either that or Chinese, adopting a new language would be foolish and wastful, what we really need is a new communications method something that is language neutral, languages naturally fracture into dialects and eventually new languages over time so it would not make any difference in the end.
@JAMD456 What about German or Spanish? Those are also languages spoken by many people? And I do believe it is expected from Academics they at least understand English German and...French? I do believe the message will get across in the current situation.
@moonslave90 That would work, or creating a useful piece of software that actively translates languages as one is talking, my point was that if one is trying to create a "common" global language, inventing and forcing people to speak it would be a waste of time and resources there would be little hope of people willingly adopting one, over time, as people naturally co-mingle (especially in our modern era, where travel is far easier) one global language will more then likely "evolve" naturally.
Esperanto as the Comum Language in EU.

The tone of this promotional has the weird banality of an old Soviet agriculture report or a 1950s health film for high schoolers.
