@OneManArmy519 Great Baraka player can win tournaments but we will never see that !!. Because of NRS decisions about making him so hard to use. All his moves are basically slow man and you hardly win against any good character players for real ... Hate NRS !!
Baraka was that guy who I wanted to play when I saw his 2d costume, but I couldnt find good combo's and stuff for him (this is my first serious fighting-game, so it was hard to figure stuff out myself), so I went to Smoke and then to Sub-zero.
Now I find a video for Sheeva (the first female character I wanted to play)
Awesome vid Moe, you've done a great service to the MK9 community. This vid was a real treat to watch. I found the Kabal-esque knee reset awesome, and had no idea he had anything like that!
@cloudedreason Man! despite all those tactics, I am still loosing with him (my winning chances are 50%) !!
The problem is I donno how to start the combos which is hard(I have to jump which is very risky).Otherwise, the best 100% strategy I used so far in winning is "Zoning" with meter management.
He is just so slow (look at his uppercut-fucking slow as he hits the upper cut with two hands !! WTF!!)
May be faster players can do better with Raka than me
@BravoMo1982 Yeah, I mess around with him in casuals, but his mix-ups seem to have really low priority compared to other standing attacks. I agree that the zoning thing is the best. I like your use of the EX meter while zoning! I often find the best way to approach is double dash forward into the low string to nab their ankles. the double lock kick combo into 4, blade charge is my fav BnB with him.
It's too bad you're on xbox instead of ps3 or I'd totally go some rounds with ya.
@cloudedreason My first combo of 35% (no bar) in the video guide is my favourite combo (BnB). Its very good with no bar. Save your bars for the Zoning attacks. And of course forget the X-Ray man !
I wish there will be more chnages by NRS to Baraka in future but I dooubt that indeed. Cuz do you notice that everybody goes for Sub Zero, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Raiden and even Johnny Cage. Only few people go for Stryker, Raka and Sheeva which makes MK9 not perfect !

Blade Spin is just as unsafe as Chop Chop. Blade Charge can be dash punished so its only useful for interrupting or going through projectiles. Zoning part was very interesting. I think Baraka's zoning would be more dependent on good reads though.

@TricksterD Notice that spamming F4,4 is not effective as a pressure tool but more importantly helps Baraka build up meter which hard for Baraka (Skip the video to minute 8:14) and watch the Baraka meter building up quickly. This is the only way that you can build up ur meter fast with Raka

You just have to use whatever you've earned. You're right, though. If you use Baraka against any tier one character, used by a tournament level player, you're probably going to lose. It's not a question of player skill at that point. Baraka just does not have the statistics to beat characters like Kung Lao.
@TricksterD No, the most annoying thing is actually when people saty on the ground for a while when they are in the corner and that is why you can not do ur combos with Raka sometimes. Otherwise, alot of players do not know about Baraka's F4 as a mid-starter (lol). And one more thing TricksterD, this video is about strategies of Baraka and (not about combos and their damage). I did not put all my combos in here. Cuz I tried to concentrate on strategy with Baraka !!.
@BravoMo1982 Those are both good points. I do think that an important part of any fighting game strategy is which combos you use, and when you should use each combo.
While jumping in is risky, it's pretty much the only way Baraka can start his combos, because they start up so slowly; ESPECIALLY his most important bread and butter combo 2, 2, 1+2. Even as a punish on things like nomad dash.
Also, in the combos where you forward 4, 4'ed and ended it with a blade charge, you should be hitting forward 4, 4, 4, blade charge; but that's not a big deal. I'm just trying to make this video as detailed as possible.
The last thing I noticed was your 53% combo. It was pretty nice, but I think that this, (being the most thorough Baraka video I've seen yet.) should have mentioned the mid screen 53% which is, Jump in punch, back 1, forward 2, chop chop before the spike comes out, down 4, X-RAAAAAAAAY! Please do not take these comments as hate or trolling. Everything I've posted is 100% experience. If you have a dispute hit me up on XBL if you have it. - I use 2, 2, 1+2 A LOT. dashing forward and hitting back 3, 1 on block isn't your best option. It's uppercut or spin, because bad guys always jump. I have tried the method you explained before, and back 3 is so effing slow that it always gets punished.

Secondly, I tried the back 1,1 after the 2,2,1+2, dash back 3,1 .. I donno its kinna hard for me to do it .. I prefer this option. 22,1+2, dash, back 3,1 then dash 4 + charge ) you get 38%. (back 1,1 after the streak is kinna hard for me, but this back 1,1 is best for me in corner though).

@BravoMo1982 Oh definitely. All of my points apply mostly offline, because these follow ups have really small windows of opportunity. I'm just now getting to where I can follow up correctly after chop chop. You have to hit down 4 right as the chop chop ends, instead of after it. Maybe even a little before.
@BravoMo1982 As for the dash forward back 1, 1 follow up. I can't even do that online. Offline, during back 3, 1 while he is swiping up, not after but during the up swipe, is when you hit forward forward for your dash, and before the dash animation even starts you hit back 1, 1. It's super tricky because based on how high you knock him off your back 3, 1 only the first swipe will hit him. You also HAVE to hit confirm the blade charge or he'll start doing the slices in the middle of back 1, 1.
@BravoMo1982 Oh, that means I thought it was a good video, and you made a lot of good, tried and true points about how to win games with General B.A. Baraka.
in mk er is not sutch thing as strategy, you never know how each game can go its not a strategy game nubs stop taking it so seriously

I think the reason they say if you block low in the corner Baraka can do nothing is because if he tries forward 2, most characters can interrupt it.

If people play dead, I think back 3 is pretty good, or start spamming low 4, Raka's got pretty good range down there.
