@MrMuggs1234567898 you dumbass he already passed one major bill, and you know what thats a solution. Even if you don't like it he is trying to do he is trying to find a solution, the majority of the opposition is hate mongering all I have seen from the Republican party is hate and fear, I wouldn't make a generalization except that I have yet to meet a person who gave a legitimate reason to dislike him.
when will Americans wake the fuck up and take back their country. you get duped over and over, but keep going back for more. its worse than a crack addiction. because you fucking assholes have literally destroyed the greatest country in the world with your laziness and ignorance
i hate the name game. republicans didn't get us in debt, americans got us in debt.- i hate the whole republican / democrat thing, if its a good idea, it's a good idea, if it's a bad idea, it's a bad idea, no matter who's behind it.
dude, fuck off obama got us through a recession and the stfu if mcCain was smart enough to run a country he wouldnt pick palin as VICE president especially when she was governor of Alaska with her bridge to nowhere. If you really think your such a McCain supporter then you would look anything up about him and his vice and if you looked it up you wouldnt be ranting so just stfu for a while and see how much palin spent on the bridge to nowhere in Alask and think Would a president really pick her?
@ello951619 Since you are quick to cite that bridge to nowhere I did my research. The bridge in question was actually meant to link two islands. One of which held the city and the other the airport. All in all since it costs somewhere between $23.8-105.4 million per mile for a four lane freeway here in WA (according to wa.gov) I would say that it was probably being done on the cheap. So before you cite something and piss and moan. Do your homework. Thank you and good day.
@rvndmnmt yeah so your saying it would be a great idea to still lose millions of dollars that you know damn well that we could have used for something else. I know bridges are expensive. Im saying bridges suck. But Palin still made a bridge. With that money we could have a lot more researches on a lot of diseases. So before you cite something and piss and moan. Do your homework. Thank you and have a nice day.
@ello951619 Actually the bridge was pulled. Again, do your homework. 25million dollars for a 1 mile bridge is a cheap project that could have paid major dividends to the community of Nowhere. And the community in question payed for it in lost commerce and tourism since the only way to the main island was via ferry. Sometimes earmarks and pork do serve a purpose is guess. Thank you and have a nice day.
@rvndmnmt k if the cummunity payed so much for why is the bridge still not being used. PEolple in Alaska had it okay but here comes a $25,000,000 bridge that nobody really uses. Not worth it. Don't try saying its was worth it. Its not worth it.
@ello951619 I don't disagree with that comment totally. The bridge was to be funded in a $398 (I was wrong on the price :( )congressional earmark in '05 by senators Young and Stevens but was dropped. Palin did support it on her run for governor but when she encountered flack she backed off the issue like I would expect any politician to do. When she did get elected governor in 06 she dropped all state funding for the project and it has sat in limbo since.
There are no Obama(isms). Bush created his own language! He's cleaning up Bush's mess. World Trade center my arse. World Take Over! Thank God for Obama! We finally have a president that can speak intelligently and people are defending Bush? Still? I'm just thankful he doesn't cross my mind anymore. Thats the best gift Obama gave the world. Made us forget about Bush! AMEN!
Hey why do you folks think were in this mess, less unions, more cheap labor you cant replace a good $20 an hour job with $8 an hour jobs. Simple economics no smoke and mirrors about social programs. Those so called programs are paid for by hardworking americans so they are not "entitlements" when you pay into them.
You're looking at the reason why our recession/soon to be depression has lasted so long. At the beginning of a recession, you need to cut taxes and freeze spending and hiring. You sure as hell don't expand on your expense base i.e. new workers and programs. We have done the same thing to jump start the economy since JFK, and it has always worked...this guy went in the reverse. He is out to destroy this economy.
God I hate this dickhead. He talks about social security as a "cornerstone" to the bedrock of the middle class. He talks about how we built this nation blah blah blah. He doesn't stand for any of it. Any of you stuipid enough to think this guy doesn't have an agenda, or think he is on your side...you're being dupped. Social Secuirty and Medi programs are killing our economy, Keynesian economics has never worked..anywhere. Look it up. WW2 got us out of the depression, not Keynesian econ.
There is no entity "gouging" the people's money ( @16:50 ) like greedy fat cat Big Government thieves. Where's my tax cut, I'm one who desperately needs it ( @ 19:05 )?
@Lakehood941 shut up. like mcCain would be a better president with his vice president Palin. Palin spent over $25,000,000 when she was governer of Alaska on her bridge which nobody even uses! and McCain would really pick her as president? Seems like Palin threatened him with something, which will mean she has an iron hand over McCain and she is the figurehead controlling the country. Thank god people aren't that stupid to pick McCain
I used to live in America, i now live in the UK, and although i do not follow US politics as closely as i used to, I really think Obama is making a difference. Any president to be sworn in during/post economic crisis is going to get some bad rep, i mean come on, how much can he do with a failing economy, except damage control, and preparing USA for the future? If your going to be mad at him for the cost of the health bill, how much did you think the NHS cost in the UK? alot at the time.
So which is it angry people? Is BHO all talk and is doing nothing or is he destroying America? It cannot be both ways. Unless what you are saying is that his talk is so powerful that it causes others to act on his behalf to destroy America? It's because he is a radical Muslim trying to brain wash us with his Black Christianity values right? Geez. $1.3 trillion in debt when he takes office is all one has to remember if you are mad about the economy
Major props to Obama. Being president is one of the hardest jobs in the world. You get elected because so many people voted for you- gave you a vote of confidence- willingly put their country in your hands- then as soon as you make a decision they lash out at you for doing your job. And even though there is anti-Obama everywhere he still remains positive and does his best to help people. Remember that he has to work with the congress, senate, foreign powers, and regular people. Go OBAMA!
@IANOYTYK can't you see the deception? what are going when your great Obama puts you in one of his FEMA Camps? He is not your friend for he would rather see you as well as the rest of us dead. Please wake up before its to late!!!
@pastorchristen If you had acutally bothered to read my comment you would have understood that I cheer for Obama because he IS the president. No matter how much you or I or anyone else likes/hates it. I'm perfectly fine with telling the leader of our country to change things to make it better, but he's the President. He got elected. Face it. It's a hard job- and I for sure wouldn't EVER want to be president. So I give him props- because it's something that I can't do.
In the Mass primary a vote for Rachel Brown could be the finish of the Obama Presidency because it's a vote for the Glass-Steagall policy and knocking out the controllers behind the current disaster. The media and the Barney camp are trying to demoralize voters, telling them the low turnout will fall in Barney’s favor. So get all of your friends and family to the polls on Sept.14, open from 7am to 8pm. Independents have to request a Dem Party ballot to vote for Rachel Brown.
Obama Americans need jobs now and I mean now. Tax the fools that sent our jobs away, now want to sell us their products. Tax those fools until they know it would be cheaper for them just to rehire their fellow Americans. They sent American jobs overseas then they call us lazy because we cannot find work. Just what kinda BS is that.
@givethemahand: Dude the GOP is for the rich and the rich only. I still find it hard to believe just how much harm that Bushit caused the American people. I still think that Bushit is the true terrorist, because he caused a heck of a lot more harm to Americans, than any planes flying into buildings. I am a vet of the U.S. Army and I was too ashimed of the sexual abuse that was done by my fellow service members. America actually tortured people, look at how far we fell.
@hiiamrick "the GOP is for the rich and the rich only"
Its also for the gullible poor that have been promised, by the rich, that they will be rich to someday. So they vote for GOP polices that are not in their own best interest.. because the rich hold a carrot out in front of them. I beleive in American opportunity and in small business...but facts are facts...most of us will never make 250K plus...so when we support tax breaks for the folks that do..we set our kids up for paying the bill.
Here's an idea Mr. Obama, if you want things the way our grandparents had them, maybe we should focus on those people who provide nothing to society but expect everything from it which is a HUGE cross-section of America. People don't want to work hard any more and unions aren't the answer. Look at the US auto makers, a huge reason they have failed is due to labor unions....mandatory yearly raises, ridiculous pensions, ect. Obama, get behind a desk and do something constructive!!!
@pleshakn: I just finished a study about the Tea party. The Tea party preach against gov. spending while they wait on their social security checks, and use their medicare. Hipocrites, don't you think? The huge corss section does that include Americans that worked hard and paid their FICA? Now that they have reached retirement age and are ready to collect WHAT THEY PAID FOR. Now a bunch of assholes call it entittlements and want to just steal their money. .You hate Obama just because he is black
@hiiamrick I'm speaking in regards to your standard welder who is making $45/hr on a 45 hour minimum work week who is part of a union. And at what point did I say anything about SS? I'm also talking about those thousands and thousands of Americans on welfare, disability, and unemployment that want everything without working for anything. I'm positive that I will not be receiving SS benefits when I'm of age yet I still pay in weekly. I'm black you fucking tool!
@pleshakn: I agree that in some cases that the unions have caused harm. Someone has to keep big business in check, especially after Bushit. If you are black, then you know that social benefits do a hell of a lot more good instead of bad. Most people would rather work than get handouts. You canot have people dying in our streets while the rich get richer. What would you do if your child was starving. I just don't want the poor taking my shit that I worked hard for. .
As long as the GOP is for tax loop holes that encourage US corps to use Chinese slave labor, and for deregulating the criminal bankers, and holding up SBA lending to small business, and for taxing billionaire hedgefund managers at 15% when I pay over 20%..as long as the GOP is for this BS..they are not on my side and they don't get my support.
True, Obama is late to the game, helping small business but the GOP are just obstructionists.

@richarddbeck - (1 of 4) BUSINESS 101 IS THE PROBLEM! America is about economics, NOT BUSINESS! Let's take the NFL, for instance. The teams are businesses, but the NFL is the government. Each teams "job" is to win. However, if them "winning" causes the NFL to fold, then the NFL won't allow them to do that. I could just cheat and break the rules in order to "win," but that would hurt the NFL. So...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@richarddbeck - (2 of 4) ...the NFL put "referees" on the field so that the "teams" would not be able to just do whatever they want in order to "win." So, what if they (the NFL) decided to just remove the referees and let the teams focus only on winning (i.e. profits), no matter the cost? You know what would happen? Every single player would get SEVERELY injured in one, single game, and someone might even get killed!...

@richarddbeck - (3 of 4) ...Business is great, but ONLY WHEN IT IS REGULATED. Unregulated businesses, just like football games, cause catastrophic results for the WHOLE LEAGUE (i.e., America). Businesses are profit driven, so, whatever they need to do to make profits, that's what they do. The government's job is to make sure that "what they do" is not something that hurts the "team" (i.e., America). Unfortunately...

@richarddbeck - (4 of 4) ...the GREED of businesses has blinded them to that fact and given them the, "Well, I'm rich, so I'm Ok!" mindset. America is not about selfishness, and businesses are literally built to be selfish.
@givethemahand To get the Obama quote, search Obama+"the financial markets have changed substantially" More recently, he only obfuscates that he wants something similar to Glass-Steagall. I was referring to the _House_ Fin Services Committee. I don't think the GOP would block it. The vast majority of US voters want it; they'd lose votes. Supporting reinstatement of Glass-Steagall ASAP is the only way the Dems can survive in Congress now. It's time politicians listen to the people, not Wall St.
@givethemahand Geithner, Summers, others on record strongly opposing reviving Glass-Steagall. Obama pre-election: “not to go back to the regulatory framework of the 1930′s because the financial markets have changed substantially.” etc. JP Morgan was broken by Glass-Steagall, their looting of US economy largely curtailed, Taxpayers and posterity wouldn’t be bailing-out speculative-casino running scum now, had Glass-Steagall not been repealed. Bills now? McCain-Cantwell amendment, also H.R.4375.
To be clear. I am for Glass-Steagall style regs. Further, I (as well as many liberal businessmen) think Geitner and Summers need to go. I will remind you that Glass-Stegall was gutted by GOP authored legislation (Graham-Leach-1999,both Republicans)&passed along party lines. Yes I know Clinton signed it, He was wrong to do it.
There is plenty of blame to go around. Please note, there is currently little GOP support for new GS style proposals. McCain, unfortunately, is an outlier.
HUNT: Well, should you restore Glass-Steagall then?
OBAMA: Well, no. The argument is not to go back to the regulatory framework of the 1930's... The question is, how do we build new regulatory systems that that reflect new realities,...We need a counterpart for that (Glass Steagal), but it doesn't mean just looking back to the 1930's"
To those who are coming to realize our mistake in putting this sad failure of a man in the presidency I suggest doing everything within your power to push the (already existing) Glass-Steagall legislation through NOW. This pres and the head of the finance committee blocked it so far. It's key to get a recovery (separates legit. banking from gambling bullshit). The Ob admin will oppose it and lose. It's the only thing that will save Dem asses in upcoming elections.Glass-Steagall or USA bust.
@WHTT "This pres and the head of the finance committee blocked it so far."
Can you be more specific?
Can you please tell us where you got that?
Which bill?..House or Senate finance committee? And most importantly
when did the president say he was not for a return to Glass-Steagall or similar new legislation with the same intent ? I'm not sure he is actually on record as saying that. If so..show us where. Thanks
I know the GOP would block it...and that is also a problem. Is it not?
im from ny so i guess i see things different but i dont understand why anybody would wanna become a republican. how can u side with somebody that has 5 times the income u will ever make and hope that it would be better for u in the long run ? some of the stupidest american live in the south. i wouldnt never wanna travel there if thats how they act. common sense is not big down there.
@spawnprince stupid American aren't liked in the south as much as they aren't liked up north, No they down here are not dancing naked in the middle of the streets waving their confederate flags at the public, we smart American in the south (who are the majority by the way) do not allow them to do so, so go ahead pack your bags and come to enjoy the sun and the beaches, you are very welcome down here.
Go Obama! I don't understand how Republicans can call themselves "fiscally responsible" when they were the ones who trashed the economy in the first place during the Bush years. Under Bush we were losing 750,000 a month near the end of his term. Now under Obama we are gaining 70,000 jobs a month in the private sector.
OMG. Did he really say "hope-aling"@14:21 ? Surely, it was a misprint on the teleprompter as Obama is far too brilliant to make a stupid gaffe, doncha know.

@nosey4747 now that you Said what you Said, why are you embarrassed you Voted for him ,state fact's why he's the worst.if you Can't blame him for the fiscal mess were in and you Can't it is and was never his fault, what's so Bad about him.
What's bad about him? How many promises that got him elected has he followed through with? It doesn't matter if he hasn't done anything bad, it's what he hasn't done.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@BeverlyBailey3196 and those promises were what, let's see health reform done, combat troops left iraq done, finance reform done, two years to go,maybe you should give those full 4 years to judge his promises,i think he's done what he could so far,i know no other pres could have got bp to put up 20 million,i will judge when the 4 years are done,i have the Sense to wait for his whole term, and he's done tons of good in the time he's been in office.
@nosey4747 Sad that you've allowed the right-wing anti-Obama propaganda campaign work on you.
And sad that you expected the recession to be over by now regardless of who you voted for.
I voted for Obama and for the most part think he's doing a great job. Certain things he should've been stronger on, but at least he's far better than Bush.
@nosey4747 Thank god some one said it i am sorry u voted for him, but alot of people were tricked into voting for him. i didnt vote at all there wasnt any one worth voting for lol.
HELL YES. At least with Bush in the White House this country was safe. Obama has appointed morons like Janet Napolitano homeland positions which has only let to numerous terror attempts under Obama's watch, that failed only by DUMB LUCK. Obama's also lifted the AIDS travel/entry ban.
And the housing bubble which caused the financial crisis was not Bush's fault. Keep believing that Obama's trying to clean up "Bush's mess" (bullshit/misinformation)
You morons have been so brainwashed... talking about terror like if it was some crazy arab nation's mission, to kill the good, humble americans.
Let me give you an example:
This month YOUR country apologized to MY COUNTRY - after a study was found buried in some university - for having INTENTIONALLY infected more than 500 of MY COUNTRYMEN with syphilis to investigate the disease. americans even infected prostitutes to FURTHER spread the disease. YOURE THE FUCKING TERRORISTS
@chrism216 Says the guy from Switzerland, a country that just banned Muslim minarets to discourage Muslim acclimation and accumulation.
But I doubt you're Swiss, probably just some poser who's stuck on repeat, still parroting the same line of crap that was said 4 years ago, back when everyone could just blame Bush. Now here we are years later and terrorism is still a reality
In any case, the Swiss have a nice economic model. Switzerland is very capitalist, something Obama is very much against
@NevaGonaGiveYouUp Im half swiss half Guatemalan, I came to switzerland about a year ago to where my father was born to study at the eth university.
i voted against that initiative. i find it disgusting. luckily, its probably never going to happen because of institutional issues. the voting succeeded, but they still have a long process before that law starts being enforced.

@RatKiller6 - You muthafreakin' Republicans HATE facts. You can't say a dang thing about ANY of the "facts' (you know, your Kryptonite) that he said. WE (Democrats) have been the only ADULTS in Washington. We've been GOVERNING, not just stalling and stalling and lying and stalling and stalling and lying and lying some more and hate mongering and lying then lying while hate mongering and then stalling some more. That would be YOU REPUBLICANS' JOB. Shut the hell up and go drink some T.E.A.
@Thanos1919 Yeah, I am about to believe that they REALLY are stupid, Just because millionaires are not getting a $100.000 dollars tax cut, they are saying no to a bill that helps the American middle class, What the heck that's so important for the economy do 20% of American do with an extra $100.000 dollars each? if they are not creating jobs with the millions they are already making, they won't create them with an extra $100.000 bucks, is that so difficult to understand?
Sure there are plantations today - NOT SLAVE PLANTATIONS, those in the context meant earlier. I worked till I became too disabled to work, I never work with unions either. But there are those who have, and wouldn't have been anywhere without them. My late mom and other chicken-plant workers are an example I watched during my life of watching injustices done to employees who didn't have advocates.
So you worked minimum wage & advanced up & up - others have too; nothing unique.
There was no net growth in the economy from 2001 to 2010. None!
The $ did not trickle down.Your rich friends did not invest in you, or your neighbors. But their tax cuts ran up debt. Govt borrowed money to give them the cuts because they promised trickle down. It didn't happen.
Germany today has a strong manufacturing based economy. They still have unions and their workers r well paid. We moved production offshore, saying paying Americans good wages was unrealistic. Thats Criminal.
1) My point exactly. Plantation owners OWNed plantations,, which would have been no plantation, had there no slaves to work the wealth of the OWNERs - of course, they made no money, they were slaves. 2) the reason, we know that this country is suffering the "plague" of illegal immigration is, again, the work of the RICH who brought in those who had no UNIONS or could not demand MINIMUM WAGE.
@marymhm1 There are still cotton plantations today. Even without the slaves... Minimum wage simply drives up inflation making it harder for low income people to by the things they need. Minimum wage just keep the poor poor. There was a time when I earned minimum wage. I worked hard and pulled myself up and now I make over 20 dollars and hour. I did this without a Union or rich parents.
@iamjmb ☼ Does taking off your suit coat, and rolling up your sleeves & talkin all down homey, suddenly make you a populist for the common people ...Again? ...But, We could really use some of that sort of Action as opposed to just Rhetoric when he's meeting with the Corporate Power Suits! :(
Idiot. Why does he blame the Republicans? I mean, I know why, but its ridiculous for anybody with a right mind of their own to fall for Obama's crap. Democrats have had a super-majority during his entire administration(and a majority before). Sure, there have been votes where the Republicans all voted the same, but there have not been any where this happened on the Democrat's side as well... or else Obama would have got his crap done! Maybe stop pushing such a crazy, radical agenda...
Well, because GOP authored deregulation of investment banks &
a hands off policy at SEC under Bush allowed Wall Street to take the 200 billion in bad mortgage loans that the Dems had allowed to happen and turned it into 6 trillion in bad securities that crashed the economy. Then using filibuster power in the senate..they said NO to most of the fixes. Thats why he blames them. GOP still wants "hands off wall street".. so thats a big problem.
@snowboardin58 Radical agenda what's that, just by the comments of many of the Republicans on youtube,i think we all know who the Real Radicals are REPUBLICANS.
i watched the presidents speech and all i have to say is WWWWOOOOOOOO THE BOSS IS BACK ! I am so fired up for the elections and you republicans and teabaggers are being put on notice that we have taken the gloves OFF and when Mr Obama is on fire not beck not Limbaugh not hanutty not Levin and not even that little leprechaun oreilly can hold a candle to this man ! president obama's economic plan is foolproof and just let you obstructionists get in the way of progress this time WE DARE YOU
This guy is a joke. He can't even change a light bulb and he is talking about creating all these jobs? Get the hell out of our lives and let the private sector create jobs. It is not the job of the Govt to create anything other than opportunity.
@Sthernguy1 Why don't you wake the hell up and get of the propaganda train. The private - Ha Ha - sector, sent all out fucking jobs overseas, where American tax payers gave them tax cuts to leave. The Govt. has been running the private sector for years. How do you think we got inot these crooked trade deals that undermines our country? You are going to find out the hard way. But by then it'll be to late, your country will be in the fucking bowl. Keep listening to FOX.
@Sthernguy1 No - I don't know it all. In fact, I only have an 8th grade education. But I'm not a fucking idiot that buys into Democrat & Republican propaganda.
@HemiHead66 Well, at least you can spell, problem is, the people who run this country might have more education on paper, but their mental capacity is about the 8th grade level.
@HemiHead66 - By the way, if you ran a company, you would understand why they look elsewhere to do business. The cost of doing business here is crazy and only getting worse. Where I live, it is almost impossible to start up a new business without the city and State Govt asking for 3 arms, 4 legs, all your children and even the dog. It is a absolute joke, however, other cities and states make it more attractive, just no one wants to live there. The problem is not only national, local as well
@Sthernguy1 No argument there. The big multi-national corporations get to lie cheat and steal, and the middle class small business owner gets the shaft. Wouldn't be nice if we could set up a whole bunch of subsidiaries in the Caiman's (that don't physically exist) so we could skirt taxes like the big-boys? Maybe if we contribute to few campaigns, we could get some tax-loopholes, too.
@Sthernguy1 Hey - question. Why do you think the cost of doing business here is so high? Not that we could compete with the 3rd worlders if costs were lower.
@HemiHead66 - The bigger companies have to deal with unions and the older the companies, the unions strap you even more. Put in the cost of healthcare/insurance and other empoyee benefits, it becomes very expensive. Granted, some of these companies make money, the cost of the products are still very expensive in order to stay afloat. A basic truck is over $30 k, that is a joke. So, if you own one of these, you look where you can maximize your profits so your stock/shareholders... cont..
@HemiHead66 - will see that their investment is worth something. The Govt, being so big has to make money as well. Here in Oregon, the state just passed two measures that taxed business "grossing" (Before expenses) $300k or more. This money goes directly to the Government workers PERS. Being that Govt is the biggest employer in the state, you can see why it passed. I have friends who own businesses in this catagory that are really strapped and to be honest, some might close their doors.
@Sthernguy1 Ya know, trade is supposed to even. The Chinese manipulate their currency making their products cheaper, putting us the hell out of work left and right. These assholes in Washington keep kissing Chinese ass because they're our cash-cow. The Chinese said yesterday that if they let their currency appreciate it'll slam their growth rate. But they don't seem to care that we're starving. This can't continue. Geithner is going over there, again, but nothing will get done.
@HemiHead66 - So, to answer your question, you can see why business owners will look elsewhere to run a business if it is possible to do so. If this state tax did not pass, many of these businesses could have hired a person or two, but take 10k to 20K out of your budget and things change. I am ok with people making lots of money, as long as they createjobs and opportunity. Our Govt today is more about prevention than promotion and penalizing the ones who can create jobs.
@Sthernguy1 You see what's happening, the Govt. gives all their big corporate friends incentive to move overseas, that slashes tax revenue leaving us to pick up even more of the tax burden to run things. This is what has happened all over the country. These companies have a right to do as they please with their business, but we can't allow our markets to be open to them. How are the people of this country going to live with the Chinese making everything we need?
THATS what im saying - give me 250,000 you can have a small measily 7,750 in taxes I wont miss it...((thats one fur coat wifey wont get or 3 nights at the strip club i wont be able to go to,,,who cares...ill have 242, 000 left to play with who would really care only a childish spoiled person would care .....go obama)

dude, fuck off obama got us through a recession and the stfu if mcCain was smart enough to run a country he wouldnt pick palin as VICE president especially when she was governor of Alaska with her bridge to nowhere. If you really think your such a McCain supporter then you would look anything up about him and his vice and if you looked it up you wouldnt be ranting so just stfu for a while and see how much palin spent on the bridge to nowhere in Alask and think Would a president really pick her?
ello951619 1 year ago
@ello951619 Since you are quick to cite that bridge to nowhere I did my research. The bridge in question was actually meant to link two islands. One of which held the city and the other the airport. All in all since it costs somewhere between $23.8-105.4 million per mile for a four lane freeway here in WA (according to wa.gov) I would say that it was probably being done on the cheap. So before you cite something and piss and moan. Do your homework. Thank you and good day.
rvndmnmt 1 year ago
@rvndmnmt yeah so your saying it would be a great idea to still lose millions of dollars that you know damn well that we could have used for something else. I know bridges are expensive. Im saying bridges suck. But Palin still made a bridge. With that money we could have a lot more researches on a lot of diseases. So before you cite something and piss and moan. Do your homework. Thank you and have a nice day.
ello951619 1 year ago
@ello951619 Actually the bridge was pulled. Again, do your homework. 25million dollars for a 1 mile bridge is a cheap project that could have paid major dividends to the community of Nowhere. And the community in question payed for it in lost commerce and tourism since the only way to the main island was via ferry. Sometimes earmarks and pork do serve a purpose is guess. Thank you and have a nice day.
rvndmnmt 1 year ago
@rvndmnmt k if the cummunity payed so much for why is the bridge still not being used. PEolple in Alaska had it okay but here comes a $25,000,000 bridge that nobody really uses. Not worth it. Don't try saying its was worth it. Its not worth it.
ello951619 1 year ago
@rvndmnmt to tell you the truth though you are probably one of the many guys that take their time to know about this. You did your share of research.
ello951619 1 year ago
@ello951619 Sorry about the delay. Hectic week at work. Thank god it's over today.....
The bridge was never built. Both Stevens and Palin pulled their support and the proposal when they started to take flak about it.
rvndmnmt 1 year ago
@rvndmnmt Thats a lie. She supported the bridge and even gave out T-shirts and when the newstation asked her how dumb she felt, she declined comment.
ello951619 1 year ago
@ello951619 I don't disagree with that comment totally. The bridge was to be funded in a $398 (I was wrong on the price :( )congressional earmark in '05 by senators Young and Stevens but was dropped. Palin did support it on her run for governor but when she encountered flack she backed off the issue like I would expect any politician to do. When she did get elected governor in 06 she dropped all state funding for the project and it has sat in limbo since.

Go OBAMA!

Just what kinda BS is that.
hiiamrick 1 year ago
@hiiamrick "They sent American jobs overseas then they call us lazy because we cannot find work..what kinda BS is that?"
Well said!
And its also BS to say US workers were "overpaid"..maybe in some cases..but not generally. No US worker can compete against offshore slave labor.
Think about it: Germany has a strong economy, with a highly paid workforce..they still have a manufacturing base...and they are a net exporter.
Paying workers well is not unAmerican ( tough the GOP thinks so).
givethemahand 1 year ago

I'm black you fucking tool!
pleshakn 1 year ago
@pleshakn: I agree that in some cases that the unions have caused harm. Someone has to keep big business in check, especially after Bushit. If you are black, then you know that social benefits do a hell of a lot more good instead of bad. Most people would rather work than get handouts. You canot have people dying in our streets while the rich get richer. What would you do if your child was starving. I just don't want the poor taking my shit that I worked hard for. .

So...

WHTT 1 year ago
@givethemahand Geithner, Summers, others on record strongly opposing reviving Glass-Steagall. Obama pre-election: “not to go back to the regulatory framework of the 1930′s because the financial markets have changed substantially.” etc. JP Morgan was broken by Glass-Steagall, their looting of US economy largely curtailed, Taxpayers and posterity wouldn’t be bailing-out speculative-casino running scum now, had Glass-Steagall not been repealed. Bills now? McCain-Cantwell amendment, also H.R.4375.
WHTT 1 year ago
@WHTT
McCain, unfortunately, is an outlier.
givethemahand 1 year ago
@WHTT "not to go back...1930's"
That seems like a selectively edited quote.
Here's what else he said:

Is it not?

@marymhm1

2) the reason, we know that this country is suffering the "plague" of illegal immigration is, again, the work of the RICH who brought in those who had no UNIONS or could not demand MINIMUM WAGE.
marymhm1 1 year ago
@marymhm1 There are still cotton plantations today. Even without the slaves... Minimum wage simply drives up inflation making it harder for low income people to by the things they need. Minimum wage just keep the poor poor. There was a time when I earned minimum wage. I worked hard and pulled myself up and now I make over 20 dollars and hour. I did this without a Union or rich parents.

GO OBAMA!! I see all the Republicans look a little mad with a few tears in there eyes. :-p
CJMostwanted18 1 year ago 2
Maybe stop pushing such a crazy, radical agenda...
snowboardin58 1 year ago
@snowboardin58 " Why does he blame the Republicans?"

So what "radical" policies has he suggested?

@snowboardin58 Radical agenda what's that, just by the comments of many of the Republicans on youtube,i think we all know who the Real Radicals are REPUBLICANS.

This guy is a joke. He can't even change a light bulb and he is talking about creating all these jobs? Get the hell out of our lives and let the private sector create jobs. It is not the job of the Govt to create anything other than opportunity.
Sthernguy1 1 year ago
@Sthernguy1 Why don't you wake the hell up and get of the propaganda train. The private - Ha Ha - sector, sent all out fucking jobs overseas, where American tax payers gave them tax cuts to leave. The Govt. has been running the private sector for years. How do you think we got inot these crooked trade deals that undermines our country? You are going to find out the hard way. But by then it'll be to late, your country will be in the fucking bowl. Keep listening to FOX.

@HemiHead66 - You seem to know it all, why are you on here? Why aren't you running for office since you have all the answers?
Sthernguy1 1 year ago
@Sthernguy1 No - I don't know it all. In fact, I only have an 8th grade education. But I'm not a fucking idiot that buys into Democrat & Republican propaganda.
HemiHead66 1 year ago
@HemiHead66 Well, at least you can spell, problem is, the people who run this country might have more education on paper, but their mental capacity is about the 8th grade level.
Sthernguy1 1 year ago
@Sthernguy1 Well, my 8th grade mental capacity serves me well, so theirs must be somewhere down in the 4th grade.
HemiHead66 1 year ago
@HemiHead66 - By the way, if you ran a company, you would understand why they look elsewhere to do business. The cost of doing business here is crazy and only getting worse. Where I live, it is almost impossible to start up a new business without the city and State Govt asking for 3 arms, 4 legs, all your children and even the dog. It is a absolute joke, however, other cities and states make it more attractive, just no one wants to live there. The problem is not only national, local as well
Sthernguy1 1 year ago
@Sthernguy1 No argument there. The big multi-national corporations get to lie cheat and steal, and the middle class small business owner gets the shaft. Wouldn't be nice if we could set up a whole bunch of subsidiaries in the Caiman's (that don't physically exist) so we could skirt taxes like the big-boys? Maybe if we contribute to few campaigns, we could get some tax-loopholes, too.
HemiHead66 1 year ago
@Sthernguy1 Hey - question. Why do you think the cost of doing business here is so high? Not that we could compete with the 3rd worlders if costs were lower.
HemiHead66 1 year ago
@HemiHead66 - The bigger companies have to deal with unions and the older the companies, the unions strap you even more. Put in the cost of healthcare/insurance and other empoyee benefits, it becomes very expensive. Granted, some of these companies make money, the cost of the products are still very expensive in order to stay afloat. A basic truck is over $30 k, that is a joke. So, if you own one of these, you look where you can maximize your profits so your stock/shareholders... cont..
Sthernguy1 1 year ago
@HemiHead66 - will see that their investment is worth something. The Govt, being so big has to make money as well. Here in Oregon, the state just passed two measures that taxed business "grossing" (Before expenses) $300k or more. This money goes directly to the Government workers PERS. Being that Govt is the biggest employer in the state, you can see why it passed. I have friends who own businesses in this catagory that are really strapped and to be honest, some might close their doors.
Sthernguy1 1 year ago
@Sthernguy1 Ya know, trade is supposed to even. The Chinese manipulate their currency making their products cheaper, putting us the hell out of work left and right. These assholes in Washington keep kissing Chinese ass because they're our cash-cow. The Chinese said yesterday that if they let their currency appreciate it'll slam their growth rate. But they don't seem to care that we're starving. This can't continue. Geithner is going over there, again, but nothing will get done.
HemiHead66 1 year ago
@HemiHead66 - So, to answer your question, you can see why business owners will look elsewhere to run a business if it is possible to do so. If this state tax did not pass, many of these businesses could have hired a person or two, but take 10k to 20K out of your budget and things change. I am ok with people making lots of money, as long as they createjobs and opportunity. Our Govt today is more about prevention than promotion and penalizing the ones who can create jobs.
Sthernguy1 1 year ago
@Sthernguy1 You see what's happening, the Govt. gives all their big corporate friends incentive to move overseas, that slashes tax revenue leaving us to pick up even more of the tax burden to run things. This is what has happened all over the country. These companies have a right to do as they please with their business, but we can't allow our markets to be open to them. How are the people of this country going to live with the Chinese making everything we need?
