This embodies my childhood dreams. Like going through life, I knew I had heard this some where before. This brings me back to comforting times as a child in the 90s. I don't mean to sound like a crazy person, but this honestly brings me to this type of surreal feeling. I get goosebumps every time I hear this song. Its indescribable, but this picture does go well with this song. Bravo.
Silkily serenely soothing & hypnotically lustrous to the senses, definitely a daydreaming tune, whenever I hear it I experience euphoria. “Fantastic”!!!
This one by this most amazing band is my #2 fave of theirs, next to my #1 which is "For Love"... It's ethereal, eternal and just plain haunting but in a very good way... I MISS LUSH!!!
I get goose bumps when I hear this. I loved Miki and Emmas voice. Lush was a great band that had so much more to offer than a typical 90's grunge band. Too bad they never got the recognition they deserved in the US.
This reminds me of Phil Spector's famous "Wall Of Sound", but with a trippy, mesmerizing, delicate caress of such soul and warmth that ya can never get it out of yer head...and that's a good thing.
The band Lush were in a state of grace when they wrote and recorded this. While you listen to it, consider how fortunate it is to hear an expression of the human experience performed so perfectly.
Wake with the sun What's going on, when you're gone Fall asleep when you're near What's going on, when you're here And sometimes I think if I stand by the phone it may ring And sometimes I worry and fear what tomorrow may bring And you sing And you sing Breathe with your sigh Makes me high, don't know why Touching your skin Wishing you were within
I got Spooky the other day and after hearing this song the first time and falling in love with it, I listened to it again, but this time at max volume(I have a great speaker system).
It was maybe the best musical experience of my life. I started crying because of how beautiful and amazing it sounded and felt. The ending of this song took me to a wonderful place I've never been to before.
Thank you so much Lush for this divine piece of art.
Your eyes are like saucers but mine are just clouded in gray I've so much to tell but I can't and you just go away Anyway Won't you stay Wake with the sun What's going on, when you're gone And when I lost control I was cold, and I felt old The ground is beneath me but slowly it's falling away You say we're like children so why won't you come out and play? And sometimes I think if I look at the phone it may ring And sometimes I worry and fear what tomorrow may bring When you sing When you sing
"The ending of the song took me to a wonderful place". That is one of the most poignant statements ever. The note and chord progression at 4:53 - 4:58 is unmatched.
I love Spooky. This song is such a good ending to a great album. I love the image in the video because I first heard this song in St. Paul, Minnesota and the image looks like how I picture this song. Plus, I can relate to these lyrics.
Thanks so much for finally getting this on YouTube. This is one of the first videos I searched for when I heard about this site years back. Cheers X a million.
I've only recently been turned on to Lush after reading about them in a rock encyclopedia. This song sounds like heaven..thx for posting. Love ya Miki.

@ravenzin10 You see the same numbers on Morphines videos because the average person has shit taste in music.
On a side note, I think she should have hooked up with Mark Sandman. They would have been good together.

Such a beautiful sad song, their song writing sounds far more mature than you'd expect from somebody in their early 20s
The despair in the vocals in the final chorus always moves me.
Lush may be gone but I won't forget them.
