When the Ibrox disaster occured on 2nd of January 1971, Big Jock was the man who was there to help and comfort the injured and dying. It was nae problem for him that they were Rangers fans, they were his fellow Scots in need of his help and Jock was there to reach out .

May his compassion and achievements be long remembered andhis name honoured!

He comforted the injured, dying and the distraught relatives and friends of those who so tragically lost their lives. He was spoken warmly by all connected to Rangers after this.
