this car i am getting 37 mpg with a 7.4 lipo u have to change a few things like the trans putting metal gears in learned that after 4 trans i will post some vidoes soon
The car is slow with the stock engine like he said but I swapped my 20 turn dynamite with my method I suggest doing the same a lot more power and faster
@TheFlippo123 No, speed is a big difference nowadays. With the traxxas 7-cell and stock gearing, the WATERPROOF rustler will do 30mph, while this does roughly 17 mph. Not to mention the rustler comes stock with a 2.4.GHz radio.
To me it seems like the dinamite motor in it isn't very consistent from truck to truck like the one in this video was slow as balls but I see other videos on YouTube with the same stock truck and stock battery and they seem descently fast
@13kawasaki13 I haven't seen any videos that show a stock one looking any faster to the trained eye. Horizon's own video makes it look faster, but that's through the use of a lot of zoom and a dusty track that accentuates movement. In my videos I don't try to make my vehicles look fast, as I'm not trying to sell them. I let folks see how they actually look.
hi jang i really like all your videos im a begginer at hobby rc cars im wanting to buy the electrix boost buggy if you have time can you please make a review of it
I just got this RC vehicle, so far I've already upgraded the radio to a 2.4 Ghz Spektrum Radio, and added anodized aluminum adjustable camber kit. Overall this is not a bad RC vehicle for the price. In in the process of upgrading this to a brushless system as well. Overall, this is a tough truck considering I've already smashed it directly into a tree, Flipped it over pavement twice in a row, and it is still kicking.
hey i got something to ask you i was wondering how u know it can handle a 12 turn motor just wondering and would i have to buy a pin for it and a spear gear for the 12 turn motor
a cheap upgrade is the Titan 12T,it can be used with the stock ESC and works good for me,you would need a bigger pinion gear and smaller spur gear to keep the 12T from getting hot.
Jang ive been watchin your vids since you where making that...uhh i think it was diablo stadium truck, idk it was all red with red anodized aluminum, and i still watch your reviews. but i think you should do a review on the electix ruckus, i think its a bit quicker but idk, i know it doesnt keep up with my brushed 15t pede but off the line it takes me by a foot then i fly by.....but i want a pro to do a review so i can really understand the truck lol...
do you have any word on the durability after driving it? I've been disappointed with cheap RC's looking strong but getting beat up quickly. If you do a brushless review also you should talk about how the transmission and driveshafts hold up.
Don't get it if you want speed. My friend got on a week ago and he's done every possible upgrade without switching to traxxis parts. The 12 turn motor heats up very quick and the gears are shit. Hes gonna switch to aluminum gears. Since he's bought it he had to replace the gears six times. Forget about the speed just don't buy it. Save up for a savage
I have been in RC a lot longer than Utube. It took me a long time to figure out how to review your videos that I have been enjoying for quite awhile. I have several cars run tham frequently. A lot of kids in the hood are interested in purchasing one. This looks like a winner for these guys. Thanks for the great review and you have helped me a lot as well.
I've got one of these, and I love it. It's taught me a lot about stadium trucks, and it's plenty enough truck for me, so I don't get while people knock it so much. Going to get a 12t 550 Titan this weekend, lol.
I have been missing my Rusty since I took it apart for my Slash. Maybe this will fill in my ST role now considering it's so inexpensive and my LHS has these in stock! Just hope spare parts are supported in the long run! I'm thinking mild BL motor on 2s. Let's see that brushless review!
@pagakpak i have the velineon 3500 on mine its uh alost the same as the rustler....as far as speed if you dont want wheel stands all the time use a 23t pinion on stock spur gear it still does wheelies but you can control it ill have a video tomorrow
did you just run it with the stock battery pack? i bet you can get more power with a battery pack and switched the tamiya plugs to traxxas or deans plugs
@UltimateRCnetwork i have had horrible luck with finding parts from horizon most suspension parts are now on backorder and cant be had for 2-3 months , as i mentioned in my other post , has anyone had as bad of luck as i had ? I cant even get a front Bulkhead/pivot plate , for the thing , and most parts from other cars won't fit it ! so if anything breaks i guess Were S.O.L ...no more ecx for me .
I would rather get the duratrax evader ext2, and jang, why don't you review higher level stuff? Your buying all this low-class stuff that a lot of people don't care to much about, we all appreciate you, but why don't you review kits like the hpi cyber 10b and some kyosho kits?
@stampedevxl A lot of people don't care for lower-cost kits, true, but the majority do. Low-cost RTRs outsell racers by a huge margin, so I review them because so many people are interested in them, and not enough people with experience take them seriously for reviews.
@stampedevxl Also, proper testing of racing RCs requires comparing each vehicle, on the track, after days or weeks of tuning, head to head against ALL major competition to give any truly *useful* info. Most folks just say "oh its fast its planted its awesome" in reviews of race-level kits, or run them solo or with minimal tuning, which IMO defeats the purpose.
i have it at my hobby store and its 149.00 but if u get the 200.00 dollar one u get another battery and a onyx 250 charger aha, but my dad wants one for my track to compete with my slash, would u get this or a rustler, because i think im going to get the rustler just because it willl go pretty fast, and its 179.99 at amain what do u think i should getg
@TecIsAwesome $150 is a total rip-off -- your hobby shop is asking way too much! If you have the money for a Rustler it will be faster in stock form and have a lot more upgrade parts support. The Electrix RC vehicles really aim for the lowest price point available, not the highest performance out of the box.
