Forget Brian lohan, Dj carey, Henry shefflin, John Mullane, Brian Whelahen, Eoin Kelly and all the rest. Richey Edwards is the greatest person to grace the hallowed turf of Semple stadium
The Manics circa '90 - '94 were often amusing when playing live, but they usually meant to be. This clearly wasn't intentional, but amusing all the same, and a precious watch for Manics fans.
Whoever below said this was in Tipperary is right, I think. There's a video here somewhere of the same performance, introduced by Nicky Wire who says they're at Feile.
Appropriate- great lyricist tho he was - even his greatest fans would admit he was a shit guitarist! Luv ya Richey all the same! Peace to all manics fans past present and future!
@gazthethird80 they are playin belfast again i missed them last time had to work. last time i seen them was at vital 2006 or 07 i'm not sure it was basically a greatest hits set.
Damn... first time I really really hear Richey playing. Not as bad as he thought, well, he's only playing basic chords, but anyway. I don't see a reason why they had to keep his guitar so low during concerts, they just had to find a balance between guitar and lead guitar... whatever, Manics played and play great live :)

note 1 of James early engagement rings, when he was close to marriage in the 90's, to be fair for a backing guitarist, Richey doesn'r sound bad here, but nowadays Mr Wayne Murray is best
That's not an engagement ring. Engagement rings are worn on the left hand. The ring seen here is a ring that James has worn on the ring finger of his right hand since the early days of the band. Look at any picture of James Dean Bradfield from any time during the band's history and he will be wearing that ring.
..The same incident happened at Glasto 94....Check out "Yes" Richie is particularly loud on that one...In fact Richie is almost louder than JDB for the whole gig.
Richey doesn't actually do THAT badly! But then again, his parts on this song are piss-easy for even a novice. But yes, sometimes the guy at the side isn't the lead player...
James looks so concerned. Sean is trying not to laugh. Jmaes looks to the side stage. At the very start, Richey realises how loud he is turned up. classic
Heh, you always hear so much Richey on festival footage cos the soundman doesn't realise that he should be quieter than James... awesome performance though, sounds much more punk than usual!
shame about the sound on this, richey should've just been barely audible!

ha! love the way that when Richey's first guitar bit goes on the sound goes 'BOOOOM'!

TV broadcast coverage often goes off the monitor sounds (i.e. what the band hears), not what the crowd hears. They are often VERY different.
