In regard to the question in the description, Japanese VA all the way. Though I suppose I like the fact they at least picked a VA with a British accent. Which goes the same with Aya and Nekane.

I generally hate the male mascot VA's as they always sound like they could scare off mobsters with their voice alone, sadly, this is no exception.

Nagi's English VA is close, but it doesn't sound like the person they portray the Thousand Master to be.

I love negi's english voice, too many people hate his english voice in my opinion. Greg Ayres' voice captures his accent, personality and cuteness really well. Most english voice actors sound too deep and mature for young boys' voices, but Ayres does a comparatively splendid job.

It's by an American company, and is intended to be sold in America. You can probably count the number of American anime VAs who even know the difference between an English and Welsh accent on one hand, let alone those capable of replicating the latter. As for why Negi and Nagi's accents are different...well, they sound exactly the same to my (uncultured American) ears, so there's your answer right there: nobody Stateside can tell the difference.

I also dislike alot of dialogue in the Eng version. Things like: "I'll cruuuush your baaaaaaaaaaalls!!!!" are just wow. The casting could also be more critical, because some VA's are really good however their voices do not suite their character. Sometimes a VA will sound more suited for another character besides their own. So, it's not always really the VA's fault. Finally, Dub Vs Sub is just too subjective and waring over comparisons between two different launguages is disgusting.

Negi- Honestly gonna have to go with the Eng VA. It's just a more interesting twist than the generic girly voice he has in JP. His voice stands out so much more in the Eng VA . Furthermore, the way he cast his spells is much more powerful in English version.

Final Thoughts: The dub has some hits and misses. However, when it hits it hits hard and when it misses it makes your ears bleed. JP version is more consistent, but it never really goes beyond mediocore

Final rating, great vid: Anya-Eng VA Nekane- JP VA Eiko-Eng VA, Sub is not really good. Chigusa-Eng VA is much much better, the JP VA is really bad in comparison. Tsukuyomi- Could go either way Fate-JP VA is substantially better Shizuna-Eng VA ftw Takamichi- Hmm, He sounds more laid back in JP and more mature in Eng. So, once again it would depend on what type of character he is overall. Undecided Eishun-Eng VA The Dean-JP VA Albert-Eng VA has more attitude

....r u serious?..don't change the tone..of course they do, jsut i think some characters from this anime are suppose to sound cold and cool..but other wise, their voices are definitely filled with the appropriate feelings
