  • I love this song and It conveys a very powerful yet romantic metaphor "Thank you walter Egan"

  • Saw him in concert in the 70s opened for Heart. Got to see him do this song also while tuning up before the show started.

  • Great song!!! I remember this song well!! I wonder what secrets need to be revealed !!!!!!!!!!

  • love Stevie Nicks back ground vocals.

  • @TheBeachedone Stevie Nicks wrote this song....made Walter Egan famous. P & L - Sus

  • @catgirl6717 Coorection : HELPED write this song....

  • When this came out the title made me think it had something to do with science! Now I'm embarrassed!

  • LOVE THIS SONG AND MISS THE TIME WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND IT WAS A LIGHTER TIME IN LIFE.

  • @cvmuziclvr77 Yes, so do I. Was just 25 yrs. old when this was a new song and I had my whole life ahead of me. I love this song.

  • The Matthew Sweet version is my favorite :)

  • WOW I HAVEN'T HEARD THIS FOR A REAL LONG TIME-THANKS

  • Fascinating to hear what sounds like an alternate take. Difference is subtle compared with the single that got all the airplay on CHR and AC radio in '78...the key's just a half-tone lower, instrumentation different in the break, and the fade is different. This may have been take 1, the single (a little higher-pitched and just a touch faster) take 2. Anyone know how to reach Walter Egan to find out?

  • @BobWXXI They may have sped this version uo in the mastering..it was a secret trick done way back wjen everything was recorded onto Reel toReel recorders. If they wanted the song a little faster, they just grab the knob and do it (!!!). Of course the pitch would get a lil tweaked,too..but no one seemed to mind to much. The Eagles (who are brilliant) had this done on some of their early work...if you are in tune..you'll find it hard to play along, because someone tweaked the master.

  • This song is awesome. If you don't like it, just move on. It represents a time in some folks lives which was very cool, so try being nice. You will actually get alot better results with some kindness. Peace always...

  • would be better if it was the original song UGH!!!!! this sounds terrible!!!!!!!!

  • @sopitabo nigger lover

  • @longbeachk1d C,mon man,its just music for fucks sake, that's all.I never said that to piss anyone off.The comment up top was "Fuck Rap"That's why i said that.

  • @sopitabo If you're going to listen to rap listen to good rap from the early to mid 90s..that rap has died out and replaced with awful crap rap of lil wayne 50 cent..the only surviving talent from the early 90s is Jay z and he's become evil with his agenda and greed..

  • LOve this song, I may be a big rock fan but I do love this song

  • Great song...but

Is it just me, or does he sound a little bit like Tom Petty?

  • i miss the 70's!!! so many great songs!!

  • How does this happen, I know I have heard this song before, but don't know where? Movies maybe? I listen to cd's usually, and never any modern pop stuff (rarely) just whatever I'm into, and I am on a tangent music trip, started w/ Atlanta R Section, and brings me here, and I swear I don't listen to 70's radio, but I heard this before...weird.

  • thank for always singing this to me Mahal.,

im so lucky to have u...in my life...love u so much

    cant wait to have u

  • This is a more enhanced version or a remix, there's more keyboard and the backing vocals are brought way up, also the lead guitar has a different sound. Not complaining, it sounds great.

  • sorry if it was too much roxie .

  • I actually went to third base listening to this song in the back seat of my boyfriends car!! i will never forget that nite! The music and the times back then were so innocent and carefree it was totally an excellent time to be young!!!

  • A nice lesson in how good a rhythm guitar track can be...

  • I love this song, but let's face it, the backup singers have better voices than Egan. Listen to them. They have lovely voices.

  • @davidhalldurham - This may be due to the fact that 2 of the backup singers are Stevie Nicks (Egan wrote this song for her), and Lindsey Buckingham. The third backup singer is Annie-something she did background vocals for FM's single "Sara."

  • @AtomicDawg713 Whoa!!! I did not know that. Thank you for the background info!!!

  • Why don't more 20-somethings listen to this music?? :D

  • I don't know bout all of you.. but Deuce bIgalow brought me here. ha

  • I wore that 45 out! I'm pretty sure Stevie Nicks sings backup on it.

  • @NerveSyrup11 It does sound off, that's because people keep buying "New Studio Recordings" I bet it was recorded 20 years after the original.

  • This song brings back so many memories. I hate getting older.

  • Boogie Nights Great Movie

  • What a CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for posting. Compare this to today's shit. How they ever call most of today's crap music is beyond me.

  • I remember being in high school and hearing this song (had to buy the record). Still a HOT song today.

  • The first time i heard this song i fell in love with it, it's so deep reminds me of a special someone

  • i remember the 70's quite well and loved every year of them best years of my life!

  • the first time i heard this i was hooked GREAT SONG JUST LISTEN TO THE WORDS!!!!!

  • I remember when this song was popular, I used to go to a topless club after work with my buddies and drink a few beers and watch the dancers, one gal used to always dance to this tune... very sensual. I always think about that whenever I hear this song.

  • sounds like a "demo" version

  • elliot smith kinda riped off the melody of this song. look up "stupidy tries"

  • Overnight Delivery brought me here lol

  • That's NOT the version I'm used to hearing

  • @Getrealpeeps Yes it is a different version..but it is Walter Egan

  • Love this song... Brought back allot of memories... My husband (of 32 years) heard it going to work the other day on the radio and found this on YouTube and sent it to me... it brought back all kinds of old memories... LOVE this song no matter if it's the original or a redo....it's GREAT and still brings out the emotions which is what music is about....

  • hmm ok! guess i suck at trivia then... guess i better take up a different game that im good at,, just.not really sure what that would be tho;

  • It is a great song! You tried to stump me with this 1 too hahahahaha

  • love this song! but it dont sound like the one from the 80s? cuz stevie nicks and the other chick from fleetwood mac did back up and this is def not them.. lot of copy cats out there today that sound so close its hard to tell. still great song tho.

  • I used to love this song back in 78.

  • A 1977 Southwest Florida High School gymnasium packed with 8th and 9th graders. It was a time of horny innocence. It was time with stoners hanging out at the gym delivery doors, sneeking a joint and the preps pretending with their mid-calf skirted trophies sipping Gingerale and berry punch. I hung with Zoner and Cindy, bored out of our minds until a cute little dish named Jacelyn stepped out of her comfort zone and asked me to dance.

  • Well pretty damn close. The only difference is I think, the background vocals don't have the added Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham on this one that is on the radio version. Plus a very slight difference on the instrumental, but very slight.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG IT REMINDS ME OF MY FIRST BOYFRIEND , IT WAS AWESOME RIDING AROUND AND PARKING LISTENING TO THIS SONG UMMMM

  • Haha, it reminds me of when I use to carry a comb in my back pocket. Lol. Good ol' days!

  • wat a cool song.. overnight delivery .. got me hooked.

  • Boogie Nights, were ya at!!

  • 1st heard this song while watching Cold Case. One of my favs. So simple.

  • rock on the 70's !! Kids of today have missed so much..bummer.

  • This is one example of the resurgence of interest in styles of 50's which happened a lot in the 70's. I remember this one fondly.

  • Amazing Song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awsome!

  • Leave Grandpa have an opinion

  • oldie but great love song does anyone remember this one

  • Ahh the memories, thanks for uploading this. (^_^)

  • I LOVE YOU FOREVER GENERAL LEE.....REMEMBERING.....Bring back the past

  • I remember when I first heard this song. It say so much and it open a way for someone who is shy to say just the right words and yes it is, lust, passion , and letting someone whom you trust take control, of your love and lust !!!!! Lovely and passioniate song !!!!!!!!

  • The Devils Rejects. Boogie Nights

  • This song takes me back to my days in High School. Driving to the local hang outs and just talking with friends and that special young lady was a memory of a life time. Those days are long gone and the young people now have been cheated. The parents of the teens have failed their children. Schools are now in shutdown and most kids fear going to school due to the violence and stupid that goes on now. The 70's will never be repeated. For those who lived it they will only know what I have stated.

  • @CrimsonChampions SHUT UP GRANDPA

  • @CrimsonChampions Nah. I used to hate going to school because of... You know... School.

  • Comment removed

  • @CrimsonChampions The old times will never come back but its still time for a change

  • @axton88 YEP

    SOOOOOO TRUE!!

  • @CrimsonChampions SOOOOOO TRUE, I TOTALLY AGREE!

  • @CrimsonChampions Wow...well put. I am a 70s product (at age 52 now). So true--a different era.

  • That is so true, there will be no more 70's ever-- or lifestyle and music plus friends and harmony in the streets.

  • @CrimsonChampions OMG!! You are so right!! I listen to these songs & close my eye's & I go back to the 70's.

Then at some point, I have to come back to this time. I feel so old now. I wish we could've stayed in the 70's for ever. But back then, we didn't mind going into the 80's but we sure had no idea of what was in store for us!!

  • @CrimsonChampions Bingo...well put.

  • Great Song.

  • @Healoneministries YEP SURE IS!!!!

  • Elaine Dimock & Frank Roper

  • For you are a Magnet and I am Steel... brilliant lyric, perfect encapsulation that shows the attraction, eroticism, love, hope, - but above all, love.

  • Ok back in my day... Sex was no biggeee... We were the generation that had it all bustin loose... So Stevie wasn't a whore... None of us were... It was just a different time and for the first time women were being allowed an equal voice in life! Men can fuck around and it's called sowing oats! Man I hated that double standard! I'm 66 and don't regret one thing I did!

  • @GATAMONAE Hell Yeah!!

  • @GATAMONAE lol

  • @GATAMONAE So you're an old whore then? LOL just kidding:)

  • Always was a great tune!

  • Wow , burn one and this song takes you on a good trip .

Admittedly back in the day ...

  • loved this in the era it came outy

  • awesome song

  • It's funny & even sad how we went from great soft rock like Billy Joel, Walter Egan, Toto, Wings, America, Nick Lowe, Carole King, Fleetwood Mac, Al Stewart, Todd Rundgren, LRB, Ambrosia, Firefall, Player, 10cc, Gary Wright, Gerry Rafferty, Gordon Lightfoot & James Taylor to very depressing soft rock from today like Coldplay, Maroon 5, Adele, Avril Lavigne, Colbie Caillat, Mat Kearney, Keane, Ingrid Michaelson, Sara Bareilles, Corrine Bailey Rae, Duffy, Katy Perry, Amy Winehouse, the Fray, etc.

  • @bucky468 Yes it is sad, but then again the days we are living in are reflective of the sentiment in which those artist of today sing about. They don't know what was like to have long hot summers, care free get togethers, fast cars, thin woman with feather hair and mellow vibes (not all bitchy/needy like these girls 2day). Forgive them for what they do knot know they missed. At least they have Facebook and sexting. yeah :(

  • this is the first song i got laid by. man, i hated this tune but after all these years this tune is the best! by the way the chick was a dog! but you have to start somewhere!

  • sumthing that i thort i wont like but i love it :)

  • For some reason, I woke up with this song in my head. Got no magnet.

  • Stevie Nicks was exceptionally good looking back then, and she was apparently loose when it came to lovers, so who knows if she had a thing with Walter Egan or not. Only they do, I guess.

  • sweet memories...

  • this is friggin amazing !!! and i have been a musician since 12.. you guys knocked this out !!!!

  • This is a little differant than the other version!

    Written for "Stevie Nicks".

    He's such a big boy!! I lv U walter

  • I feel ya on that one Jasmin!! It truly brings back memories. Normally there is studio version and radio edit, but either way it stills sounds good!!
