  • Futureisc chairs

  • It's healthier to stand and work than to sit and rot.

  • $740-$910 "Recession friendly?" for a plastic and mesh chair. Right...Screw the environment, and going GREEN. Ironic huh I spend all this money on a GREEN chair to save the world, when the whole reason I bought it was so I could play video games in comfort on my behemoth of a PC and its 1000w power supply.

I could care less about the environment, make a quality chair out of quality parts WITH the ergonomics. Stop marketing plastic at gold prices.

  • Fast Company needs to ask these chair manufacturers their budget for ergonomic research and then compare it to their budget for researching buying behaviors. You will be surprised by the lack of ergonomic research and the the focus on buying behaviors. These companies sell chairs for a living, not ergonomics.

  • "adequate substitute for regular excercise"

    ...

ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I had quite the lol...

I'd love to nab one of these

  • I just got my Embody Herman Miller chair last week US$1900 ouch we get raped in Australia eh but well worth it. I'm now able to comfortably work longer hours and feel less pain while working. Seriously sitting for 15 years has given me some pains in my back and shoulders and arms. And this chair is so good it truely makes working more comfortable. If you can afford it, GET IT this chair is a dream!

  • Bob's slogan: Knoll might claim their chair is a "movement"...but ours facilitates a movement of another kind.

  • Look up the anti-hero to all of these highly R&D'd and conceptual chairs, called Bob's Cheap n Gud Chair. You'll have to do a Google search. But anyway...the Bob chair has refinements up the ying-yang, is also green, is also hyper-stylish, and offers groin and vulva support as well, a feature you'll be seeing more in the years to come. It has an optional urinal, as well as a fecal depository, which clearly comes in handy during long and busy work days. It gets my vote!

  • I found the Embody chair while looking for an office chair for my home on the internet. The look of it is outstanding. I called a local retailer and they have a chair being shipped to them and will allow me to try out the chair in their showroom. I will not purchase the chair if it does not feel comfortable. This chair comes with a 12 year warranty.

  • FYI, since you happened to specifically post regarding the Embody, and for anyone else who cares, I bought one for my home office almost a year ago when it was brand new. I did try it first at my local retailer, ordered one in black/charcoal/polished aluminum, and the verdict after a year is: absolutely couldn't be happier!!

  • I'm just not sold on the looks of the Generation chair. I've sat in it too and it didn't feel like anything special.

  • I know support is most relevant, but I'm sold on the ekoskeleton on the Embody chair.

  • The Knoll Generation chair is BY FAR the better chair of the 3.
