Barbas is the best dog in Skyrim because he immortal and can took down a group of 2 giant and 2 mammoth on it own .I just had to sit back and watch him bite Giant ass

PS: I like Meeko also because of his loyalty to his own master too bad he don't want to stay with you in your home :O

i feel like skyrim knows how much i care about meeko second i got him 4 Sabre cats attacked us but an elder dragon came to the rescue...killed the cats, a deer and saved meeko! <3 elder dragon

@SheIIdon see what i do is when i know danger is near i tell him to wait n a good hiding spot and bring my follow to take it out, then i scout the rest of the area and see if he can handle the fight

I always keep Meeko at my side along with another Human Companion, Lydia. I always keep an eye on Meeko and when he's being attacked, I'll protect him. =) Anyways, can Meeko die even if you have god mode turned on in th PC version?

Uhh, I found out that your dog leaves your house the hard way. I payed 500 for Vigilence, and he started to walk back to the man, and payed 500 all over again. I was afraid of him dying, but now I found Barbas :3

i found him today in that shack and i was like "for fucks sake, i won't leave this dog alone in here" so i took him to my house. unfortunetly he's going back here after a while. can he actually die in fight?

@zoldator rofl. i felt the exact same way :P you learn to live with yourself and accept that you cant keep him forever anyways. :P he can die, so be careful. i went back to the shack recently and the bed with the dead nord on it disappeared. you can also drop and throw cooked beef and he will play fetch with it :) thanks for watching :D

to some of the questions: No, you cannot have 2 dogs at the same time

Yes, you can have a companion AND a dog at the same time

Dogs deal low to decent damage, but have quite the amount of health. It can easily distract a dragon for half a minute or so. Same as with companions, your dog will go in a paralyzed mode when low on health, and only friendly fire will be of real life-and-death danger to it.
