@ajmurtagh27 I like that haha! It's so true though. I hope he doesn't gain tons of popularity with this biopic that's supposed to come out. In fact, I hope they don't even make a movie about him. If you watch the "Everybody Here Wants You" documentary, he pretty much tells the interviewer at the very end that he personally doesn't want to be remembered for anything. He just wants the music to be remembered.
No actor will be able to sing like Jeff Buckley, I think that not even a singer one day accomplish this, he sang with his soul and that you can not have ... The role in the movie has to be James Franco, can only reach in and take his soul was the essence of Jeff Buckley.
Jeff is a GOD but everyone I know dislikes his music or just don't care for it. Though I already know when the movie about him comes out everyone will be going nuts over his music.
@TheWarriorDingo I think with jeff buckley's music it's easy to approach it, without really knowing, as almost another pop voice. Of course if you keep listening, you discover that that's completely false and there's something truly remarkably unique there. The recording of "Corpus Christi Ca" was probably the song (though a cover) that really opened me up to understanding his music - - -
It's really weird...he is really disoriented...he indeed was so talented. But also a tortured mind. Who would go swimming with their boots and clothes on? Doesn't make much sense, sorry..!!
@laudom88 well- look up "Scorpio", his astrological sign- it will explain alot- he was gifted but his time here was not meant to be long- HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. BUCKLEY! I do crazy shit like swimming with my clothes on too, well I did (in my 20's), I mellowed out alot! BYE!
@laudom88 He was spontaneous and unencumbered by societal rules. Possessions didn't hold the same weight to him that they do to most people and so if he wanted to go into a river with all this clothes and boots on then dammit, Jeff was gonna do it. He was so intellegent and quick witted. Very very savy as well. Definitely not disoriented or tortured.
@s1ygirl Yeah, dammit...but it turned out to be a fatal bad decision.,that has nothing to do with possessions...He just wanted to set his own rules and do what he felt like when he felt like..., In all his bios, seems like his friends were a bit worried at that time about his mental stability and all the pressure of releasing a new album. Foti's story as well seems quite incoherent at times...we will never know. Nevertheless, he will forever live on in our hearts as the greatest of all time!!
Poetic dude he was, i somehow feel he got too caught in it sometimes and i don´t think songs like Grace is healthy for anyone to go too deep into when you make it or perform it which he maybe could control, for me i couldn´t, it´s too much soul to let out simple is that.
Drives me crazy how much his personality reminds me of me
he's a million times more amazing though...I wish I could rewind back to the 90's and say hi to some of my favourite musicians who graced music and tragically died before I was even 7 years old
I bet Jeff was really cool, but was very intense so if he was pushed or stressed to much he could kick somebodies ass if he had to, he might of had a Sean Penn personality but lighter when he was in a good mood.
I'm doing this speech next week on music and I used that quote you have written on the description. I credited jeff Buckley of course. I'm spreading Jeff Buckley in my College! And... 0:52 the guy tells him to focus Lol. It's funny.
Please, could anybody transcribe what Jeff say in this video? I know a little english, but I can't understand the video because he speaks too fast for me xD
A beautiful crazy mixed up being. To much for this world@^%!!. Dropped off on the wrong planet. Way too talented to stay for to long.Like Hendrix, & Vaughan. Way too far ahead of Time.
Ok, I have to sound off on this one. Amazingly, I had NEVER heard Jeff Buckley until about a month ago. A mix CD was given to me. I fell in love with the song, "Lover, You Should've Come Over," without ever seeing what Jeff looked like. After buying more of his music off of iTunes, I realized what he looked liked, and found out he was gone from this world. (I know, I've been under a rock) It was the beauty of his lyrics and the incredible angel's voice that did it for me. His music is magical.
thats not entirely true, yes he's very good looking, but its the emotion and the feeling that is involved in his music thats draws us in. The fact that he is hansome is just a bonus on the man himself.
I would fuck Thom Yorke and he's ugly as hell, but because of his music I would. There are physically beautiful musicians that I wouldn't fuck just cause I hate their music.
But some men will fuck ANY beautiful woman that they can, even if this woman is full of sh*t.
The could fuck Britney even hating her and her "music".
Men will not buy a cd because a girl is sexy. The billions of dollars generated by boy bands and your John Mayers and the like prove opposite of girls. Why is "fucking" so intrinsically important to your listening experience? Are you listening with your vagina?
no, we don't listen with our vaginas. but i think women, in general, find great talent very sexy, especially when it comes in combination with physical attractiveness. we're drawn to the passion in the music (and i'm not talking about teenage girls right now, the ones who make boy bads rich). because music, good music, is a very passionate thing, wouldn't you agree? although, i don't expect a man to understand, they only get aroused by tits and ass.
@ennqq i understand what you mean and i'm a guy. I love jeff, he is a role model to me because we share the same voice type :] he's so amazing and as a musician he is just so integrated with his knowledge that he can express his soul though it. I think Jeff probably liked tits and ass as much as any other man, but we can both agree that people are shallow, sometimes more so that others.
you're right, i shouldn't have generalized like that. there are certainly men whose understanding of passion and sensuality goes beyond tits and ass, but those are few and far between unfortunately, from my personal experience at least. and yes, thom yorke is good looking, and passionate, and sexy. love both him and jeff.
agreed! by the way, speaking of tits and ass, search for "Matt Good Rants - Tits and ass" on YouTube. he's another hero of mine, a great artist, and a very very smart guy. his music is amazing. search for "Suburbia", "Advertising On Police Cars", "Strange Days" by Matthew Good Band for some examples. i highly recommend checking his music out, if you haven't yet. :)
@PattyHeater Interesting.. I've always found Thom Yorke very attractive. Not to disagree with you completely.. the music is brilliant for sure, and I love it regardless of his looks. But the guy is just sex on leg, in my books anyway.
@stpage@stpage That's what I always think when I listen to Tim, who also sounded that way when he was 20. Genes can be so powerful! A son does not have to grow up with his father to have developed the same mannerisms by the time he's an adult - something I saw with my own eyes.
Maria Married again and had a son after Jeff. Jeff asked this man to adopt him and changed his name to his Stepdads name...Then when his father died he reverted to his name Bukely. Half brother/sister are your mother or fathes children from another partner. Step bro/sis are children of your step ma/dad. Don't get confused. He has a half brother! Apparently Alcholic(?) cant remeber the facts on him.
Jeff has a half brother. a manic depressive alcholic. (Brother Not through Tim, but Maria) Or at least that's how the guy who wrote the father son autobiography made him sound
argh so amazing. he always used to struggle to explain what music meant to him. i know exactly how he felt. its impossible to explain something as massive and impacting as that.
so different from his father, but just as talented in his own way...
