So Dan, maybe you're right and I am not your equal. It just seemed a cheap shot and a bad call for you to dis the SS because of a poor shock. We all know the factory doesn't supply high quality shocks like Konis on any thing rolling off the assembly line.
These parts are high wear items, but many will run them until their car behaves like a boat:>)
the car only has 20,000 miles on it and you had to replace: the brakes, a front shock and an intermediate drive shaft or whatever u said.. chevy runs deep, right into your wallet.
Hah, I have the same car with same miles and the clutch pedal squeaks just like that. Took it in and they said it was the Master Cylinder and replaced it. Stopped squeaking for 3 weeks and then came back. Its a flaw that won;t get fixed...Just lube it up constantly!
In your description you say you got 26,000 km, and then you say 20,000 miles. 20,000 miles would be 32,000km and 26,000km would be about 16,250 miles. So which one is it? ;)
Are you happy with your car? I am planning on buying a LT or LS coupe Cobalt
@1sick93 The car is actually not all that bad on gas, I drive it very hard and really doesn't eat the gas. The car will run on regular but you will face lots of problems, the car will not perform as well and will not get the gas mileage you would get with premium fuel. If you are doing a long high way drive, you can put in mid grade, but I wouldn't recommend it.
So William, got a few questoins, really want to get one of these cars. I would like to know A: if you feel that this is allot of car for the money, not enough car for the money , or just enough car for the money, how would you value it, would you say you payed a GOOD price or you payed to much or just enough, would you pay more ?. and secondly, why the shock issues ? you ride it hard or just a minor flaw with the manufacturing, not a big deal i want to drop minewith ebachi race adjustable susp.
@SpeedFreak8900 My SS 09 was a great buy for 23K. Dropped with Eibach bars, Pedders springs, Konis, and better (drilled/slotted) rotors for the Brembo stock calipers. It won SCCA regional in its class my second year trying.
Also, the Cobalt kinda reminds me of the Australian Holden Monaro. If you want too see what i men type in TOP GEAR (a UK car show...funny as hell) they did a segment on the Monaro. Vauxhaul over here ran a limited version of the Monaro. But tpe in TOP GEAR MONARO...
Also i just sold my 1991 BMW 520i...I'm gonna miss her ,she is a great car and comfortable too drive..Inline 6 Automatic... Tell you one thing that you probably already know, the best looking BMW is the 2001 to 2004 318i..
Hey HillWilliam420, never been a GMC fan,I've always had MOPAR to MY HEART,But,The Cobalt SS is an nice looking machine. That squeek might just need a little white grease along the shaft of the area that is rubbing. How is the Turbo Lag on her.
Hey thought I'd contribute to your video, I have a cobalt, and i'm a new owner and one thing I've noticed is that when you put your heat on just foot, it kicks on the AC for some weird reason. I've also noticed the intermediate shaft and knocking in the rear of the car when I stop
@vahdyx Congrats on the cobalt, the intermediate shaft is easy to diagnose, with the car off and brake pedal pushed on, sea saw your wheel back and forth and you will hear the knocking. The knocking in the rear could be the e brake seized on.
thanks for your advice , my dealer told me nothing about the car exept for the on star and the radio . not even about the launch control or no lift shif or break in ..
all keep that in mind and take care of her . thanks again cheers !!
Does it say turbo charged on the rear of the car? I got a fully loaded 2.4 ss 07 and it doesn't have anything under the rear lights so I assume it says "supercharged" or "turbocharged" ?? thanks for your answer in advance.
@ChrisMoodie91 Yes it has a small "Turbocharged" Badge on the rear. From what I know, but don't quote me, all of the "Supercharged" badges are on the door below the SS badge. The SS Supercharged was 2.2L & the turbocharged came out in 2008. The 2.4L is a great engine.
i just bought a 2010 ss tc in july and i love great performance nice looking , ive got the victory red . it only as 3800 klm on it and at 2800 klm during a no lift shift from 1 to 2 the shifter cable broke and i alwayse have black dust from the front brake on my rims .. other than that i love it ..
@lettragepc Congrats on the Sweet 2010, just a heads up, they don't recommend doing No Lift Shift and Launch Control until you are over 5000km.

@MboroMarksman4 The SS/SC is supercharged with only 205 hp, the SS/TC is Turbocharged with 260 hp, launch control and no lift shift, SS/TC. The SS/TC actually spent time at GM perf. division, the SS/SC was just bolt and go. 2008 is when the ss went to TC.
@HillWilliam420 I still cant decide if i wanna the that kid that no one can beat or that kid that has a fly ass ride with Subs hahaa. Im deciding between Cobalt SS/TC and the 09 Cobalt SS TC 4 Door. I might want the xtra room for friends you kno still in High School
Nice tint, makes the car look clean. I have limo tint on mine and the police get me all the time for it, but for some reason they always dismiss it in court??
I can't help but laugh at the "Plastic's great" haha. But that's what I love about the Cobalt, excellent performing car kept relatively cheap by excluding unnecessary luxuries.
Thanks for the review, but I'm a little concerned about the suspension problems you mentioned, especially at ~20k KMs. I'm interested in a Cobalt SS but worried a bit about the cost of ownership due to issues like that.
@slimecrazy552 Hey, Yah the car is a great car for the money. But the problems associated with it are common to cars with Brembro brakes. The suspension problems are not all that concerning to me, but having to do my brakes new all around twice, in less then 45,000kms is crazy. Everything else seems to be holding up okay. Eats tires left and right, lol. A lot of fun to drive, kills most cars.
Mine skeak too ... dealer couldnt do anything about it ... brake problems too not that bad though... overall its a good car kind of boggy tranny but at least it work and hold the power of my tune lnf so ...
seriously why does every 1 complain about plastic interior ...ive been in lexus bmw mercs...the wood trim and plush stuff doesnt do ne thing for me all im worried about is as long as it doesnt jar u aroun d and if it goes fast yet has a comfy seat...96 impala ss driver speaking
@widowedeight Lol Yah I drive it hard, and I am really picky pain in the ass about the car. lol I used to work as an Advisor, So I can force repairs with proper wording. Hope the Car is doing well, Thanks for the comment!
@HillWilliam420 my car is doing fantastic, counldn't be happier with it..... well maybe if it was AWD so i could actually drive it when it flurries so i wouldn't be fearing for my life lol, and no problem
@widowedeight I drive mine all year round, and I am in canada, lol. You should check out my videos of me driving in the snow, just get a good set on Hankook's they are great.
@Marshmallowrex for the price it runs mid 5 seconds 0-60 and 14's in the 1/4 mile. That's not slow at all. I can't stand ignorant comments like yours.
nice SS. I have only 8k on my car right now and I love the car. I hope mine holds up as good as yours when I reach 20k miles. I baby my car and keep it garage kept. thanks for the heads up on the brakes I will have to keep a close eye on mine.
I've been lucky with mine. I did have the brake issue but aside from that it's been stellar. I'm at 26,578 km and it's running like a dream. My only gripe is the planet wide turning radius. My suspension has been aces, no major mechanical issues, no minor ones either actually. But I do know there are a fair number of people who have had problems of a similiar nature. Good review and glad to hear you like it :)
@Marshmallowrex yeah 260 is a bit sluggish if your lookin for a race car but if you want a car that gets 35MPG and is a lil sporty its not a bad deal at all I mean shit if you want a car to race around pick up the Camaro SS packin 420+ HP... but then youll pick up that 30K+ tab as well not to mention what 25MPG at best ? it all depends on what you wanna do with your ride
I just bought a 2009, I do like the clutch. What brake issue are you talking about, what should I be looking for? Intermediate steering shaft and shock, that suck for only 20k miles. I hope mine does a little better.
@vahdyx Keep an eye on your rear brakes for groves, you will also notice a clunky feeling in your gear box, the brakes will still feel tight because you will be dragging the rears. So if you see huge grooves forming in and on your rotor, get it to the dealer, under 20k they will replace them, then you have to say they are pulsating to get them replaced from 20k to 60k.... congrats on the car too
@alphaj9 Total Sleeper is right, I like the way it looks now, just because people think it is something they have raced already then I smoke them, Stage one kit 290 hp 340 trq....
@xxjr963xx WD-40 Will not last, and WD-40 is a Penetrating Lube that will strip paint and colors from fabrics over time. White Lithium Grease is the best, bet fuck it is a new car, it should be fine.
@Marshmallowrex Hahha If you are saying that you have never driven this car, For a little 4cyl 260 hp by 260 trq is fast for stock. Now the old ones they are slow ass fuck. The Stage 1 kit for this car pushes it to 280 hp to 320 trq. that would just roast the tires, and stomp a lot of cars.
I find that the break rotors that Chevrolet provides aren't that great. if they warp again just get some like good quality aftermarket ones. My mom went through like 4 sets of rotors in 50k miles on her Malibu SS and my sister's cobalt LS had its rotors messed up too.
On the other end of the coin my dad's chevy express 3500 went 110k miles on the original rotors and pads lol
@Doctors2Advocate not to mention that the ss sc doesnt come in a 2.4L. embarrassing to talk about your car when you dont know anything about it. the 2.4 ss has no charging and is an embarrassment to the ss world and the 2.0l ss sc is an actual real car
My 2007 SS 2.4L has the same rear brake issue-It's f-ing stupid. I developed warped rotors pretty fast. They told me the warranty only covered 1 machining / rotor...stupid. However, since then I've learned to downshift like a mofo (I'm talking left foot brake, throttle manipulation to slide that gear in nice n' smooth) & letting the engine slow me down really saves the brakes.
Anyways, I'm getting out of my lease & buying a 2010 turbo! So pumped! I kno what to expect with cobalts so I'm happy
@xplat: Is engine drag from a 2L 4-banger really that hard on a tranny? It's not like it stops the car dramatically. The torque put on the tranny is probably equivalent to a nice slow acceleration, just in the opposite direction. Plus, going through the gears while slowing down saves you gas since there's such a vacuum in the cylinders. It's how your SUPPOSED to drive isn't it? Truckers do it all the time. I thought dropping to neutral when slowing down was for newbs? Just hoping u could explain
Even on a 4 cyl engine you can cause serious damage to your syncros/clutch if you downshift too soon. If after you downshift you're in the upper half of your tach then you're unnecessarily stressing your drivetrain; reducing it's components life span. Next, Truckers can only do it if they have a jake brake. Diesel engines can't engine brake otherwise. Also, their reason to engine brake is to maintain downhill speed, instead of riding the brakes.
@xplat: You make a good point with the diesel engines; I spoke before I thought on that one, lol. I find downshifting extremely useful, but I'll definitely take what you say into consideration...I'll probably be DSing less frequently. I definitely understand the dangers of DSing too early; I know when is good. I'm not afraid of clutch wear as I'm very proficient at rev-matching, but in the long run I can see how other drivetrain components will suffer. I appreciate the tip!
Noticed FM96 on your radio when you turned it on so guessing you're from somewhere in my general area. Have the exact same car now with the GM Stage 1 and like yourself have had 0 issues short of the rear sliders binding and needing a clean-up/lube job. While the brakes were disassembled the rotors were also resurfaced and have been fine since. Car has 18,500km on it.
Do me a favor, kill yourself, All you do is hate on GM, your a huge fag. Stay Gay Chump, Keep the fear alive, one day you might drive something of quality, jealous koon.
In what your P.O.S CRX, You are obliviously scared of my cobalt, that is why you are on my video trying to talk shit, You fear my wheels, I always smoke little fagit honda's like yours, no torque no go, Just like you all talk, and no go. Lets be honest, Your black, you don't do anything fast. Keep Dreaming Chump.....
the warranty covered the deck but not the brakes its weird the rear are fucked pads and rotors but the front is not really worn at all and its not from the e-baking it but they plugged it into there computer and said something about aggresive drive i wonder what they mean lmfao jk but they undeer rated the top speed i had the car with four people in it and bried the needle on the speedo at 260kph and still had more rpms left
its slow but i prefer it over any cobalt, and yes ive driven them. i have 3 friends that have one. im getting an hr 350z next which is faster stock than a SS. not faster modded but its RWD so idc.
@Dart00Z I have over 70k miles on my cobalt 2.2 and its been though 2 deer, a fox, a racoon, and a older blazer that the owner said sliped into gear while jumping some ones car @ a parking lot, oh and my burnouts (check my vids), and I live where it snows also so it has to put up with the salt they put on the roads and junk.
So let me get thsi straight....the caliper and pads are BREMBO, but the rotor isn't? Has that created any problems? Can you put an actual BREMBO rotor on it if you want?? That kinda seems like a cop out to me.
Yah I bought It From The Dealership, Brand New, 14 km's on at the time. I Bought it right when GM was Denied their first Bailout, they needed Money Bad!
How has the interior held up? Do you find it OK ergonomically? Have any trim pieces fallen off, broken off ect? Also, after driving thsi car for a while, what are some things you knwo about the car now that you WISHED you knew before you bought it?
Yah the interior has been 100% Perfect, that was the only downfall in all of the reviews I have read, but there is nothing wrong with anything in my Interior. I have worked for a Number of Dealerships So I knew all about the brake problems and other problems. But It would have been Nice to know it is not a Brembro Rotor, only pads and calipers. The Parking Brake Problem is Huge Piss of For me. I am Picky about my brakes and tires.
Great review! I wanted an '09 SS Sedan, but they are in short supply in the US. How has the paint held up on your SS Coupe? Is the front of the car susceptible to rock chip and dings? Is there a lot of torque steer? Thanks!
Yah The 4 door is Nice, My Buddy just wrote off his 09 4 door, almost killed himself too. The pain has held up nice, but I Put a triple wax on and used a cleaner wax at 18,000 so i take care of the paint. The torque steer is there thats for sure, lol... but it could be worse for how much power it puts to the ground.
that's a fine machine you got their man, It still pisses me off that my friend bought an 08 civic Si over an 07 cobalt SS. But what can you do, he really wanted a black car, and the Si isn't terrible, but the Cobalt would run circles around it.
Interesting review. Hey are you stock? I've invested like 700 bucks in mine and its really fast now im at 320whp and about 340wtq. Amazing little 2.0. A buddy of mine drives an STI and hes about 330whp and we keep up. Car handles amazing now that I lowered it also. Make sure if you put mods on ur turbalt u keep ur stock parts. Anything happens throw on the stocker intake or exhaust/downpipe and take it to get serviced so you still have the warranty!
Well so far the best tune available right now in my opinion is trifecta. I went from 240whp to 300whp with just a tune, then put my catless downpipe and an intake and got like 20 more horses. You can also customize the tune by asking how much hp u want. Some people are pushing 370whp with full bolt ons and an aggresive tune on the stock turbo.
Sounds like a hella lot of problems for a car with 26k on it. I have an '05 Mazda 6 with 137k and have yet to have ANY problem except changing my tires at 80k and just recently the brakes.
hey was your shocks squeeking? cuz mine does a little squeeking when its cold outside and i was curious if you had that problem and they replaced them? yeah i had all my brakes redone already too and im amazed you still have your stock tires.....i beat mine into the ground after like 15K miles =P.....but same as you i have no interior wearing like the door cup's did in the earlier SS years i just rolled over 20K miles in mine too.
Yah It was making a light sqeek noise on the right hand side. The Tech said it was leaking also. They replaced the passenger side but not drivers side Thats crazy about your tires, hahha sweet. Yah the car has really held up nice for the mileage.
So Dan, maybe you're right and I am not your equal. It just seemed a cheap shot and a bad call for you to dis the SS because of a poor shock. We all know the factory doesn't supply high quality shocks like Konis on any thing rolling off the assembly line.

nice SS. I have only 8k on my car right now and I love the car. I hope mine holds up as good as yours when I reach 20k miles. I baby my car and keep it garage kept. thanks for the heads up on the brakes I will have to keep a close eye on mine.
mightymatt14 1 year ago
oh my god dude i have an 09 g5 and my clutch sounded exactly like yours does.
inste1 1 year ago
I've been lucky with mine. I did have the brake issue but aside from that it's been stellar. I'm at 26,578 km and it's running like a dream. My only gripe is the planet wide turning radius. My suspension has been aces, no major mechanical issues, no minor ones either actually. But I do know there are a fair number of people who have had problems of a similiar nature. Good review and glad to hear you like it :)
8BALT 1 year ago
@Marshmallowrex yeah 260 is a bit sluggish if your lookin for a race car but if you want a car that gets 35MPG and is a lil sporty its not a bad deal at all I mean shit if you want a car to race around pick up the Camaro SS packin 420+ HP... but then youll pick up that 30K+ tab as well not to mention what 25MPG at best ? it all depends on what you wanna do with your ride
PureToxicYouth 1 year ago
I just bought a 2009, I do like the clutch. What brake issue are you talking about, what should I be looking for? Intermediate steering shaft and shock, that suck for only 20k miles. I hope mine does a little better.
vahdyx 1 year ago
@vahdyx Keep an eye on your rear brakes for groves, you will also notice a clunky feeling in your gear box, the brakes will still feel tight because you will be dragging the rears. So if you see huge grooves forming in and on your rotor, get it to the dealer, under 20k they will replace them, then you have to say they are pulsating to get them replaced from 20k to 60k.... congrats on the car too
HillWilliam420 1 year ago
man i want one of these for a toy, soon as i pay my ride off! Gonna get it minus the wing and strip the badges and have a real sleeper lol
alphaj9 1 year ago
@alphaj9 Total Sleeper is right, I like the way it looks now, just because people think it is something they have raced already then I smoke them, Stage one kit 290 hp 340 trq....
HillWilliam420 1 year ago
@alphaj9 so my car basically lol, 330whp, 360wtq..... no wing, no badges.... sleeper :)

Use some WD-40 on the pedal. Great car!
xxjr963xx 1 year ago
@xxjr963xx WD-40 Will not last, and WD-40 is a Penetrating Lube that will strip paint and colors from fabrics over time. White Lithium Grease is the best, bet fuck it is a new car, it should be fine.
HillWilliam420 1 year ago
@HillWilliam420 Oh ok. Thanks for the info. I used some WD-40 on my sisters 93' Lexus ES300. Would Lithium Grease be better?
xxjr963xx 1 year ago
@xxjr963xx Lithium is the better choice, i would try it....
HillWilliam420 1 year ago
@Marshmallowrex Hahha If you are saying that you have never driven this car, For a little 4cyl 260 hp by 260 trq is fast for stock. Now the old ones they are slow ass fuck. The Stage 1 kit for this car pushes it to 280 hp to 320 trq. that would just roast the tires, and stomp a lot of cars.
HillWilliam420 1 year ago
How is the paint holding up under the inside of the doors? I had this problem with my 07 SS/SC?
banshee107 1 year ago
@banshee107 The paint has held up okay, a little bit of haze and the clear coat is so thin, "clear coat wax" goes along way.
HillWilliam420 1 year ago
I find that the break rotors that Chevrolet provides aren't that great. if they warp again just get some like good quality aftermarket ones. My mom went through like 4 sets of rotors in 50k miles on her Malibu SS and my sister's cobalt LS had its rotors messed up too.
On the other end of the coin my dad's chevy express 3500 went 110k miles on the original rotors and pads lol
ambee514 1 year ago
Brakes on the 2.4 and SS/SC are the same, no problems with those wearing at all. Last for a while as long as you don't drive like a moron.
Doctors2Advocate 1 year ago
@Doctors2Advocate Actually, No they are not the same, your ss/sc did not come with Brembros.......... stupid comment
HillWilliam420 1 year ago
@Doctors2Advocate not to mention that the ss sc doesnt come in a 2.4L. embarrassing to talk about your car when you dont know anything about it. the 2.4 ss has no charging and is an embarrassment to the ss world and the 2.0l ss sc is an actual real car
seanpreil 1 year ago
@seanpreil The brakes on the 2.4 and the SS/SC cars are the same. Where did I say the SS/SC is a 2.4L? Lol learn to read man.
Doctors2Advocate 1 year ago
My gf had an SS superchared. Very nice car.
NovaBlitz 1 year ago
My 2007 SS 2.4L has the same rear brake issue-It's f-ing stupid. I developed warped rotors pretty fast. They told me the warranty only covered 1 machining / rotor...stupid. However, since then I've learned to downshift like a mofo (I'm talking left foot brake, throttle manipulation to slide that gear in nice n' smooth) & letting the engine slow me down really saves the brakes.
Anyways, I'm getting out of my lease & buying a 2010 turbo! So pumped! I kno what to expect with cobalts so I'm happy
standard1664 1 year ago
@standard1664
You don't want to engine brake. Trust me, brake pads are MUCH cheaper than the price of rebuilding your transmission.
xplat 1 year ago
@xplat: Is engine drag from a 2L 4-banger really that hard on a tranny? It's not like it stops the car dramatically. The torque put on the tranny is probably equivalent to a nice slow acceleration, just in the opposite direction. Plus, going through the gears while slowing down saves you gas since there's such a vacuum in the cylinders. It's how your SUPPOSED to drive isn't it? Truckers do it all the time. I thought dropping to neutral when slowing down was for newbs? Just hoping u could explain
standard1664 1 year ago
@standard1664
It's your car and your money.
xplat 1 year ago
@xplat: You make a good point with the diesel engines; I spoke before I thought on that one, lol. I find downshifting extremely useful, but I'll definitely take what you say into consideration...I'll probably be DSing less frequently. I definitely understand the dangers of DSing too early; I know when is good. I'm not afraid of clutch wear as I'm very proficient at rev-matching, but in the long run I can see how other drivetrain components will suffer. I appreciate the tip!
standard1664 1 year ago
better then the S2000?
mr2drifking 1 year ago
you can't compare a $50,000 car with a $20,000 car. S2000 is over priced........
HillWilliam420 1 year ago 14
@HillWilliam420 at least they arent as over priced as the Lexus SC430
mr2drifking 1 year ago
The sc430 is a Horrible car, Old lady car..... way over priced..... M3 in that price range, hands down.

does that car have an aux jack input?

HillWilliam420 2 years ago
Noticed FM96 on your radio when you turned it on so guessing you're from somewhere in my general area. Have the exact same car now with the GM Stage 1 and like yourself have had 0 issues short of the rear sliders binding and needing a clean-up/lube job. While the brakes were disassembled the rotors were also resurfaced and have been fine since. Car has 18,500km on it.

You have no fucking clue what you are talking about, 260 hp and 260 torque stock, yah that is a slow car, 0-60 5.3 secs stock. Dumbass
HillWilliam420 2 years ago
i have the same problem with my rear brakes there shot and my deck fried on me 20,000 kms on mine so far theses cars are very hard on tires lol
wantarace 2 years ago
Yah the Car just eats Tires........ stupid rear brakes.... that sucks about your deck.
HillWilliam420 2 years ago
the warranty covered the deck but not the brakes its weird the rear are fucked pads and rotors but the front is not really worn at all and its not from the e-baking it but they plugged it into there computer and said something about aggresive drive i wonder what they mean lmfao jk but they undeer rated the top speed i had the car with four people in it and bried the needle on the speedo at 260kph and still had more rpms left
wantarace 2 years ago
lets see how it holds up at 50k miles. my 06 si is around 50k and drives like the day i got it. its still slow tho. lol
Dart00Z 2 years ago
I am over 35k now, Still no problems.... Yah your Si is very slow......
HillWilliam420 2 years ago
its slow but i prefer it over any cobalt, and yes ive driven them. i have 3 friends that have one. im getting an hr 350z next which is faster stock than a SS. not faster modded but its RWD so idc.
Dart00Z 2 years ago
@Dart00Z I have over 70k miles on my cobalt 2.2 and its been though 2 deer, a fox, a racoon, and a older blazer that the owner said sliped into gear while jumping some ones car @ a parking lot, oh and my burnouts (check my vids), and I live where it snows also so it has to put up with the salt they put on the roads and junk.

ur lucky with no problems my sounds like its gunna rattle apart and i only have about 7,500 miles on mine

HillWilliam420 2 years ago

look at my page man 09 tc
solidsnake3433 2 years ago
So let me get thsi straight....the caliper and pads are BREMBO, but the rotor isn't? Has that created any problems? Can you put an actual BREMBO rotor on it if you want?? That kinda seems like a cop out to me.
skeezix4me 2 years ago
Yah the Rotor is a thick GM Spec rotor. It doesn't cause any problems.
Alot of companies do this to keep MSRP down. The Brembro rotors can be very pricey and have the same problems that the GM rotor will have.
You can put any set of rotors, BEAR Power slotted would be best.
HillWilliam420 2 years ago
Nice car!
so how much did you pay for it?
whicho123456789 2 years ago
I got a great deal, $19,800 and they also showed me $1000 for a P.O.S. car I bought for $1200 4 years ago. It was a Great Deal.
HillWilliam420 2 years ago
Nice..im hoping to get one in january ganna put 4 grand down and well see where that goes!
whicho123456789 2 years ago
did u buy it from the chevy dealership or somewhere else, cuz i'm planning to get one but the problem is the cost might go over my price range.
elsalvareno 2 years ago
Yah I bought It From The Dealership, Brand New, 14 km's on at the time. I Bought it right when GM was Denied their first Bailout, they needed Money Bad!
HillWilliam420 2 years ago
cool, but i'm too late to get now lol! thanks for telling me, and imma go see if i can get a deal.
elsalvareno 2 years ago
How has the interior held up? Do you find it OK ergonomically? Have any trim pieces fallen off, broken off ect? Also, after driving thsi car for a while, what are some things you knwo about the car now that you WISHED you knew before you bought it?
skeezix4me 2 years ago
Yah the interior has been 100% Perfect, that was the only downfall in all of the reviews I have read, but there is nothing wrong with anything in my Interior. I have worked for a Number of Dealerships So I knew all about the brake problems and other problems. But It would have been Nice to know it is not a Brembro Rotor, only pads and calipers. The Parking Brake Problem is Huge Piss of For me. I am Picky about my brakes and tires.
HillWilliam420 2 years ago
Great review! I wanted an '09 SS Sedan, but they are in short supply in the US. How has the paint held up on your SS Coupe? Is the front of the car susceptible to rock chip and dings? Is there a lot of torque steer? Thanks!
skeezix4me 2 years ago
Yah The 4 door is Nice, My Buddy just wrote off his 09 4 door, almost killed himself too. The pain has held up nice, but I Put a triple wax on and used a cleaner wax at 18,000 so i take care of the paint. The torque steer is there thats for sure, lol... but it could be worse for how much power it puts to the ground.
HillWilliam420 2 years ago
that's a fine machine you got their man, It still pisses me off that my friend bought an 08 civic Si over an 07 cobalt SS. But what can you do, he really wanted a black car, and the Si isn't terrible, but the Cobalt would run circles around it.
admiraljimmy 2 years ago
Hey! I just bought a 2010 SS! How does it handle in the winter? I also live in Canada
nathanielsmart16 2 years ago
It is a good little car in the winter. Go with Hankook Icebears for snow tires, they are the best. It is a great car.
HillWilliam420 2 years ago
i had the same problem with my rear rotars they replaced them twice but i still love it
deerhunter11590 2 years ago
Interesting review. Hey are you stock? I've invested like 700 bucks in mine and its really fast now im at 320whp and about 340wtq. Amazing little 2.0. A buddy of mine drives an STI and hes about 330whp and we keep up. Car handles amazing now that I lowered it also. Make sure if you put mods on ur turbalt u keep ur stock parts. Anything happens throw on the stocker intake or exhaust/downpipe and take it to get serviced so you still have the warranty!
StyleAndSpeedx 2 years ago
Sick Dude. good to hear. Yah I need to get on board with some upgrades. Do you know of any good Tunes Around?
HillWilliam420 2 years ago
Well so far the best tune available right now in my opinion is trifecta. I went from 240whp to 300whp with just a tune, then put my catless downpipe and an intake and got like 20 more horses. You can also customize the tune by asking how much hp u want. Some people are pushing 370whp with full bolt ons and an aggresive tune on the stock turbo.
StyleAndSpeedx 2 years ago
Sounds like a hella lot of problems for a car with 26k on it. I have an '05 Mazda 6 with 137k and have yet to have ANY problem except changing my tires at 80k and just recently the brakes.
f89276704 2 years ago
hey was your shocks squeeking? cuz mine does a little squeeking when its cold outside and i was curious if you had that problem and they replaced them? yeah i had all my brakes redone already too and im amazed you still have your stock tires.....i beat mine into the ground after like 15K miles =P.....but same as you i have no interior wearing like the door cup's did in the earlier SS years i just rolled over 20K miles in mine too.
Raverrabbit1 2 years ago
Yah It was making a light sqeek noise on the right hand side. The Tech said it was leaking also. They replaced the passenger side but not drivers side Thats crazy about your tires, hahha sweet. Yah the car has really held up nice for the mileage.
HillWilliam420 2 years ago
Just got rid of my SS/SC. Loved it. I hated the truck space though. So I picked up a CSRT4.
Also Check the paint under the inside of your driver side door. These cars have shit paint jobs. I also had the same peddle squeak
Nice car though. Goes like stink! Love the new stock rims!!
