Great game - dark atmosphere, great mature story, likeable characters and possibly the most scarry game in the last 6-7 years.. yeah, the AI isn't perfect but it's not a problem (most FPS games have far worse AI), some bugs but nothing so bad like in RPG's or some FPS shooters - for me easily 9 of 10.. shame that the studio went bankrupt

@palikala123 They published it, but Headfirst developed it. The PC version is glitchy( especially when run on Vista or higher) , but the X-Box version is fairly solid (provided it's run on X-box and not the 360). Headfirst went belly up before the PC version was completed. The advantage to the PC version is the resolution, quick aiming, and loading times. The advantage to the X-box version is the rumbler integration with the sanity effect (heart rate, breathing).

Tried to play this game on PC, it is unbearably bad - I mean hair-pullingly bad.

Powerful contender for worst/shoddiest PC game of all time.

Lovecraft/Cthulhu makes for great atmosphere, but execution here was beyond incompetent.

Forced myself to get through it til 75%, then that horseshit with the ship's cannon was the final straw. Could no longer bear it. Pity.

sanity is a big factor in this game, and at the beginning humans are just as scary as any monsters.

however you later equip yourself with weapons and even facing against horrific monsters you kind of lose the terror.

i could say that it would be as scary as amnesia, if you didn't get equipped with weaponry
