how do you like the megasqurit with the 1ST gen' 4.6 dohc?

How hard was the instalation? Did you just tap into the stock harness?

How about tuning? do you notice a differance when you make adjustments?

how hard was it to get tuned in? do they give you a base map? or do you figure it out? Couldnt you remove IMRC'S now?

Are you running MAP or MAF?

thanks. I have a anderson PMS rite now, but i want to go true standalone and have complete control, so i can get rid of the maf.& IMRC

@cobra96svt570 this is a bit older MS, its a MS3.0, but running MS extra (megasquirt n spark). by the date this vid was posted, i'm assuming he was only running MAP, as if i remember right MAF/MAP and MAF only wasnt added until more recently. more than likely he custom built his harness. the biggest place to pick up performance would be ignition control. nowadays you can run direct COP instead of coilpacks and edis which IMO is a much better choice.

i own the car this motor is in. just had it up for a checkup and it works great.1985 cobra with a tremec 5 spd and 3.08's and i'v run a best of 13.30 @ 104

i feel like this is just way too much effort to achieve a much more easily achieved air fuel ratio but it is cool

@Mooseboy240 there's far more functions than that. built in 2-step, WOT throttle fuel or ignition cut programming. fully open source, wideband feedback for actual engine management. essentially fully free and free-form tuning without having to have some special tuner like SCT or diablo. take it to any dyno, or even do street tunes... plus there's plenty of add-ons that can be controlled, such as a boost controller, or nitrous/methanol

when you push that switch and it makes that humm noise, is that the fuel pump priming?? how did you wire the fuel pump? what sort of fuel system are you using? return style? if so what are you using for a fuel pressure regulator?

Are you using coil on plug settup and what igntion moduel u using to fire the individual 8 coils?

Using the the two OE coil packs, run off the OE EDIS8 Module. The megasquirt controls the timing advance.
