Actually, Social Security (a progressive idea) is failing and our public schools are declining in quality. It is based on past failures due to government intervention that many (on both sides of the aisle) are opposed to more government involvement.

I feel obligated to point out that CONGRESS, not the PRESIDENT, passes legislation and drafts budgets, and that ultimately the fiscal house is the responsibility of Congress. True, Bush could have vetoed them and for that I do hold him responsible as well.
But for the two years before Obama's inauguration, we had a Democratic Congress, and THAT Congress presided over the increase of our nation's deficits and debt.
And fyi, Obama's deficit/debt numbers are substantially higher than Bush's.

Bush could have vetoed anything he thought was a bad idea. He didn't. Congress exists to prevent dictatorship, not run the country. Congress historically passes bills they shouldn't, and the president usually vetoes them. And as far as your deficit claims, Obama has changed from the Bush legacy by instilling new openness and transparency of the budget. The result of this openness is a budget that is "$2.7 trillion deeper in the red over the next decade than it would have otherwise appear."

Yeah I love this guy. Do I think the government will use pipeline sabotage to take over the oil companies? No. Doubt Beck believes that too. Media Matters does nothing but parse through every damn word a conservative says and then attack some trivial point while purposely avoiding the real issue. They sure know how to manipulate you lefty sheeples.
The main point is he showed Hillary and Water's comments and that should be alarming to anyone that cares about freedom and liberty.
