  • This is very good but the music is too loud. The mics need to be louder.

  • Not bad at all! Well done!

  • The actress playing Sheila did a good job.

  • the blocking was a bit strange but overall great performance

  • isnt tthis cameron manheim?

  • Clunky direction, but all three actors give strong performances. And Sheila really shines.

  • ugh is zach supposed to be so bad

  • The Actress who played maggie can't hit that note. It was a good performance though

  • everything was beautiful....at the BUFFET!

  • "Maybe too strong" haha

  • this girl is an attention getter... you look at her even if she is saying nothing on stage.. lucky and a sweet sing ing voice..

  • Cette version me touche beaucoup, peut être même plus que l'originale. J'aime beaucoup!

  • An interesting take on a classic.

  • Bebe can't act, sorry. And Maggie sounded whiney to begin with :/

  • Bebe's performance in this was flat :P

  • Sorry not the best performance I've ever seen.

  • What production is this from? There are a lot of clips from this production, just wondering where it is from!

  • nice job cast, I hope you LOVED your experience acting in ACL!

  • "sometimes i'm aggressive" XD this is one of the best ATB's on youtube, esp sheila. maggie's voice is gorgeous, but her performance was a bit.... flat. i sang Maggie's part once and i felt so overwhelmed at the end of it... she needs to be able to make the audience feel overwhelmed in a relatively short space of time compared to the others. Bebe was pretty good, but needed to be more stubborn i think...

overall i love it if only everyone's acting was in the same league as this sheila's

    xx

  • how old are these people?

  • The point of this musical came about from an idea from a man named Michael Bennet and it was written for dancers who had a past reason for dancing. The ballet represents a beautiful fantasy world that let's them escape their terrible childhoods so the reason Sheila doesn't look like your stereotypical dancer is because she isn't suppose to, instead she is suppose to represent the realism in the play for the audience to relate to :-)

  • That Maggie has a beautiful voice!

  • i don't understand why they all go off stage when sheila starts singing... their supposed to be on stage...

  • i like this shelia...different

  • i love the timbre of sheila's voice. but, she's really awkward onstage.

  • i love this cast's maggie.

she is very pretty and her voice is very beautiful. but She may grow up more.

    i support her.

    good luck!

and i love this all cast!

i love this cast's chorus line!

  • Amazing Sheila.

  • I liked the one who played sheila but the one who was bebe has one of those faces that looks like she's smiling all the time.

  • i liked sheila. but maggie was pretty dull and couldn't get her potentially epic climax note

  • She's a little large for the role, no? Her acting is pretty terrible. So is the voice of the director.

  • I hate Maggie in this, sadly. She just stands there, but she's animated during her monologue. (They all just stand there, but at least they move around a bit, or show more character than just stiff stature.)

But then again, maybe I'm biased, since I'm playing Maggie. xD

  • uh i dont think they want ya

  • I've just watched a few of the videos from this production, and no matter who is front and center at the time, my focus is drawn to the actress playing Cassie.....what an odd, peculiar human she is.

  • I know it looks like Dana Carvey as Cassie!

  • they just don't get it

  • starts off well but then dies in the ass

  • is the girl playing bebe the same girl who played in the last 5 years??

  • After re-watching this...I must say that as an actor the Sheila is great! Having your performance come through on stage and be recorded by a video camera and have it still "work" on the new medium is VERY hard.

  • They were all pretty good, but Sheila was great!

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, this was great!!! i luved it.

  • Fantastic. I really liked Sheila and everyone. The three are really good. :D

  • Sheila - Great acting, mediocre voice (phrasing was weird, harsh tone, didn't seem very experienced... better intonation than Bebe though)

I liked Maggie, except missed some of the non-straightforward rhythms ("Maggie do you wanna dance, Daddy I would love to")

  • haha im playing bebe for an upcoming play! i love her personality, but i have no clue why! ^_^

  • I LOVED Sheila. I love the dark/tough/strong side she portrayed. Great acting and a good voice too. Bebe had a great voice but I don't think she really understood her character. More character work would have helped. And Maggie.. Oh Maggie. Has a great voice when in her range, but the part of Maggie is not in her range at all. Her acting was also very boring. I definitely feel like she has some potential in there! One of the best versions of ACL I've found on youtube.

  • great voice for the role

  • wow that was SO nice!

  • Well why dont you just shut the fuck up! what the hell kinda performing have you done?!

  • coming from a dancer's perspective...it always bothers me when i see this show not done by people who can dance....and i don't have a problem with "big girls" (as stated below me) but, a dancing show should have people with bodies suited for dance attire...its a chorus line. i dunno...

  • Voices aren't very strong and Maggie's high E is not supposed to be sung in falsetto. That girl just didn't have enough power in her voice to perform Maggie. Plus, none of them showed a lot of emotion. Maggie should be enthralled at her fantasy of her daddy asking her to dance, with maybe a break in her voice. Sheilla could have been a little more disgusted at her situation with her parents and Bebe didn't really seem that that upset that she wasn't pretty". It was just not convincing.

  • i love the beat in the backround as she talks. its very intense

  • sounds exactly like the movie i love it!

  • The girl who plays Sheila is a good actor. She would actually do well in the city of Chicago. Her voice could be a little stronger.

  • WOW! such a pretty voice :D someone put this girl on broadway? lol :] highfive, amazing job

  • Italianabella,

No, clearly this is not Broadway.

  • lol WOW think your cool replying to everyone dont cha? i didnt say it was broadway smarty, i said she would be amazing on broadway. durr.

  • Well italianabella567,

You should learn how to use punctuation in the English language.

--"someone put this girl on broadway?"

That little symbol at the end of the quote I referenced above indicates a question. Furthermore, given the interrogative nature of the construction, the word "put" is most reasonably assumed to be in the past tense. I think it is a stretch to interpret your utterance to mean "i [sic] said she would be amazing on broadway [sic]".

  • Also honey, if you think she would be "amazing" on Broadway, maybe you should raise the $15 million to put her there, because no producer I know would dream of it. She is horrendously miscast.

  • good...but they all need voice lessons

  • sheila is perfect! I love this production, i mean they manage to pull off a great show, even though the choreography isn't overly difficult. The acting carries the show through.... good job ^_^

    xx

  • 4:12 to 4:20 had so much emotion!

    Sheila was INCREDIBLE

    and Bebe was FANTASTIC!!

  • i dont like their voices

  • yay! so happy to see big girls on stage. You go girl!

  • The actress isn't a typical Sheila but she did a great job. She nailed the role.

  • Maggie's power note didn't really do it for me. I love Shelia and Bebe is good too.

  • I /love/ BeBe!!! She's /so/ great!

  • yeh i think its great to see a talented big girl playing the part of sheila good on ya girl love it xxx

  • yeh shes fantastic xxx

  • Wow, this girl playing Sheila is REALLY incredible! Extremely talented.

  • Everything.....was beautiful....at the buffet....

  • so mean

  • wow your stupid

  • OOPS! i forgot that was my own comment! sorry!

  • Wow. Wonderful performance.

    Gave me chills.

  • OMG This is my favorite recording of the songs! I watched alot of other groups do the same songs, but this one is by far the best! congrats^^

  • this is really great performance

i loved the emotion when you said *he wasnt warm..not to me not to us*

i'm doing this piece for my music theatre exam. I LOVE it..well done :-)

  • First off, I agree Sheila is supposed to be sexy and confident and thin, but the actress's voice was very very good and well-suited for Sheila's part. Bebe I thought was good except I also felt like she belted like a popstar at some points. I really didn't like Maggie very much, she really needed to breathe. It was probably just nerves. I just think that you should get off the subject of Sheila's weight because she obviously has talent and she can change her size.

  • i totally agree. you dont have any idea how many parts i've lost to girls who are thinner than me and much less talented.sorry, probably sounds likes i'm just bitter, but i'm not any bigger than shelia and she has great talent. good things dont always come in small packages.

  • The song "Dance 10: Looks Three" was written for a reason. I agree completely. Sometimes it's just about image. And that pretty much disgusts me.

I LOVE that Sheila was not the busty, thin, sexy little thing I saw on Broadway. Don't get me wrong, she was great. Very talented.

I'm just saying that it's refreshing to see a confident, sexy, talented big girl.

  • Sheila was pretty much amazing. Funny, with a strong voice, and good portion of motion. It doesn't matter that she isn't as attractive, people. The arts aren't just for the "beautiful people".

Bebe needed some more emotion and was a little off pitch at some points.

Maggie seemed like she didn't know what to do with herself at some points and sometimes looked mechanical in motion, but had a good performance altogether.

  • i was there

  • is this on broadway? cuz i dont think it is

  • well there is a revival currently running on broadway starring mario lopez...but its not this cast...if thats what you mean

  • MARIO LOPEZ!!! what a hottie!

  • i thought this was fabulous. sheila was perfect, from her acting to her singing. bebe smiled a bit too much but her voice is absolutely stunning. she's a beautiful girl, too. i thought maggie was pretty good too but i wish she'd put more power into her voice. the harmonies were lovely.

    overall, wonderful job, ladies.

  • Is the character of Bebe supposed to have bad posture? When I saw it on broadway with Krysta Rodriguez (sorry for spelling errors, also I do like her a lot anyways) was kinda slouching, and so's this girl.

This performance is really good though. Just wondering if that's a character trait or coincidence

  • Great job guys.

    Where was this?

  • TOTALLY AGREE!!!!

  • haaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I love you for that! hahahaha (well not literally)

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

  • my chorus is doin this song for our concert, yea, i hate the way we sing it!

  • Sheila was ok..but she was acting the movie..(The movie and the b-way show are very Different)unstead of looking at the music and the character and portray that!..this was the movie shelia not the b-way sheila...!...i love ACL..and HATE when people shit on the characters!....shelia could have done alot more!!!!!!!!...and maggie is just boring me!!!..maggie is suppose to be the best and im not seeing that!!

  • I saw the touring show last Friday night and the Sheila was like this. Dark. Where in the movie, she's trying to be funny. But I agree with Maggie. Her voice was plain and it didn't build.

  • i think sheila is really good who cares if shes not stick thin she has talent. Bebe smiles when she sings about things thats shes supposed to be upset about but she has a great voice maggy is really good the only thing i was disappointed about was her last time she says ballet its supposed to be louder and longer but other than that everything is great in this video

  • I don't see why people are complaining about Sheila.

    She was spectacular.

Yes, she's different, but she pulled it off so well. She /has/ sex appeal, in her own way.

  • i like it when shelia says "i wanted to get out of my house" and starts talking about how she hated her family life. It's really good.

  • I really just feel like Bebe has NO idea what she's talking about. I mean she's smiling while she's singing, but she's talking about how her mother called her ugly... I think it's one thing to act like maybe Bebe's gotten over that, but at some point she needs to realize how much that really hurt her and thats not something a mother should say. She's bruised. I think this Bebe could have done a bit more searching and finding her inner Bebe

  • acyually i agrre with u now tht i think about it it is very interesting!!! i mave been misproven.

  • i agree, and they should have good voices.

  • I always pictured Sheila Bryant as either very thin or very fat, so kudos to the casting director for this one. I think the fact that this Sheila is overweight illustrates the turmoil of her character - unloved, vulnerable, afraid, etc.

  • where was this performed?

  • ohhhhhhhhh i looooooove this song

  • Wow, I love how there were all sorts of body types in that show! It makes the show more... realistic, because not all actors out there are skinny!!

  • It makes the show more realistic?? Have you seen a REAL line audition? You probably wouldn't find someone MAGGIE'S size on a real line, let alone Sheila's. True, not all actors are skinny... but I don't know any chorus dancers who are overweight in real professional theater.

  • Yes, realistic. Not everyone in Musical Theatre is a size 0.

  • ACL is not about Musical Theater at large--it's about chorus dancers. Yes, there are people working on Broadway who are larger than a size 0. I defy you to name a chorus dancer currently working on Broadway who is size 8 or above.

  • Erm, I am quite sure that you will find some in "Wicked"?? Check out the dance scenes..

  • Mazeppa in "Gypsy" with B.P. was a good 12.

  • Apparently they're not all a size TEN either.

    HAHAHAHA!

  • Singers maybe, but dancers? Really...? Have you ever seen a Broadway show? Not a cheap community theatre production, a real Broadway show, on Broadway (or at the very least a REAL PROFESSIONAL touring company)?

  • @TRoderick,

You're simply wrong. Ekir75 is completely correct in his/her response to your comment. If this girl showed up at a Broadway dance audition, she would be LAUGHED out of the place before she even learned the combination. There are people her size on Broadway, but they are NOT dancers.

It's perfectly clear you have never been to a Broadway dance audition, so how could you possibly know what is "more...realistic"?!?!?

  • Who are you to judge her? Its rude. Shes talented, and you shouldnt be commenting about it.

  • Whoa, great acting! At one point, I had to make sure they were still acting, and not bickering at a rehearsal! That's a compliment, trust me. It all felt very natural.

  • I love your Bebe, she is so good. I was no fan of your Sheila, and Maggie could have toned it up a bit on the acting.

  • The vocals were pretty but could have been stronger. Maggie, when your arms are in high 5th your hands should NOT touch.

  • Why don't you post yourself and we can critique your performance.....

  • The three singing the song are NOT supposed to be doing a ballet routine during this song,Wolfbane; the rest of the ensemble is supposed to do one behind them. This is as per the stage directions in both the Broadway original and the revival. The point of the song is a retrospective into the lives of these three of the chorus members who are auditioning.

  • thank you, and we did do ballet on the remotes that we have on the audience left and audience right sides of the stage where you can't see :-D

  • that doesnt matter, the director has artistic rights to change things from the origional if they want. dont be so single minded

  • Gabi- A Director does have artistic license to INTERPRET the authors intent&to express that interprtation.Read below your comment, you will see mine was directed to Wolfbane who was simply incorrect about the point of this song; this isn't opinion, it is commonly accepeted by those familiar with this show. I am a Director fond of seeing an author's work colored by my own paints, but this show is very specific. There is a reat deal of info on this wonderful work if one bothers to do the research.

  • The vocals could've been stronger, and I didn't like how the 1st woman (Sheila?) was bellowing her part, but the harmonies were quite good. But...this is a song about ballet. The whole point is for them to be doing a ballet routine during it. They barely danced at all.

  • Nope. I just saw the national tour. They don't dance at all. The rest of the cast does... and it's QUITE beautiful!

    :-)

  • WolfBane2,

What on earth in the context of the show makes you think this song is ABOUT ballet? Don't ever direct theater...

  • the guy in the yellow sweater is hot....so is the one in the black leotard....lol

  • i didnt like it

    the vocals werent strong

  • Im sorry, but is that a man or a woman??

  • haha

  • that's rude! she did good job!

  • ok, so im assuming its a woman by your response... sorry.

I thought it was a gay guy playing a woman, sorry

  • MasterMakeupArtist,

Are you talking about Cassie? I was thinking the same thing. From this video it looks like a drag queen. I'm going to look for Music and the Mirror from this production.

  • haha that was val again. coming from scott its a little creepy. damn i need to remember who im signed in as.

  • haha, oh you two, i lurve both the botha yas

  • colleen is so hot. i can't get over it.

  • haha that was val again. coming from scott its a little creepy. damn i need to remember who im signed in as.

  • i love this. it's sooo good.

  • Yeah, Sheila's this sassy woman who puts on a mask for her pain, all the other one's I've seen on here suck at the part. The Sheila from the movie was perfect.

  • Good observation!!! One of the few things about that movie that worked!!!!

  • I totally agree with 12457801346790

  • wow it was GREAT!

  • If she had the dancer's body she would be perfect for this part.

  • ...really?
