sorry dude.. i just dont know.. without having the wah to test myself i cant really say whats wrong.. you may have fried a transistor with the heat from the soldering iron.. you could replace them, they're cheap anyways.
@murkygrand Did it to mine, Now it doesn't work, I can hear the effect but nothing coming through the input from the cable when its off the signal comes through. I really wish I never would have seen this hack video. I have another wah and plenty of money but shit before I watched this and tried it I had another wah. Now only have one. I am proficient in soldering and mind you the wah was working 4 seconds before I took these 6 pieces off.
Hey, Can anyone help me? I've got an original Dunlop crybaby wah pedal and when I turn it on it gives it a HUGE treble boost and when I'm playing and I push it all the way down it makes it really high and annoying. Can anyone help? Thanks :D
My cry baby makes a wierd hizz noise when I use it on my clean channel, when I step on it up and down in the midle makes this wierd horrible noise......any sugestions on how to solve this problem?????
yeah, thats right bro... you can use a 510ohm Resistor (or something near that value) to get really bright results, but you have to attach the wires before the power supply filter cap so you don't get pops when you turn the wah on and off
crybaby classic.. good luck bro, all that surface mount stuff is hard to get to, but you can attach the power wires, to the polarity protection diode next to the "C-11" on the circuitboard
i wana buy this crybaby wah pedal, but ive got a effect pedal already, wud i b able t use the pedal through the effect pedal and still get the wah effect frm each of the effects that i choose frm the effects pedal. If this make sense =)
do you mean you have an effects processor, if thats the case, you should try wah through your effects processor before you put down your cash & buy it, just to make sure it works. processors can react strange to some other effects sometimes.
Im gona buy this online =p, btw can u have a distortion tone on the crybaby pedal? I wana buy a wah pedal that has a distortion tone or a metal sound to it but cheap to buy any suggestions?
thats a hard question to answer, the distortion should come from your amp or a pedal and making this wah work with it can be tricky, as for cheap good sounding wahs there isnt that much out there, you could try the behringer hell babe wah but its made of plastic. ebay would probably be your best bet for a good second hand wah.
I have done my crybaby tru by pass, It is a huge diffrence if you are tone chasing, If you dint care how youre guitar sound , dont bother, why are you here, the diffrece too youre own ear instead on a video are much bigger then on a video, Im not trying too convince anyone, It just the way it is ... no more too it !!
I am not thoroughly convinced yet. Could you do a test with a guitar equipped with single coils? Humbucker pickups naturally deteriorate higher frequency signals while offering a thicker one. I suspect that may be the reason why it is difficult to hear the difference between a GCB95 with and without true bypass.
sound like the only way you will be convinced is if you do it yourself??? you could try it and hear if you have a noticeable difference, everyones different & this may not be for you, however its made a difference for the better to me.
if you like general sound of a GCB95, its a good way to go. the only thing is with this wah ive found that with hi-output pickups can overload the wah and distort. but i got it cheap on Ebay...
Yeah, I'm selling my ltd with emg's for that exact reason, I have all sorts of problems with high output pickup snot just wahs, they aren't for me i guess
you sound like james may xD

I've heard recently that stock true bypass wahs make pops when you switch them on.
RNRDOLL 1 year ago
depends on your gear... with distortion it can happen... and the type of switching wiring will make an impact. best to find a switch that is
"make before break" rather than break before make so you will minimize pops... unfortunately mechanical switches can have a tendency to pop.

hey i have a question....i saw this web site and they replaced the switch to a DPDT and took the 6 components u took of....will that work on mine?

hey i did it to my cry baby but after i did it it would not turn on
murkygrand 2 years ago
sorry to hear that... did you run continuity test for any ground loops.....?

@alfalfasprout69 yeah i did......theres no sound passing when i turn it on

So to make this true bypass you simply removed those components? No wires or new switches needed?
I wanna make my ZW-45 wylde wah true bypass..
Cheers!

@01Justin010 = can you post a video of it, so we can hear how it sounds - it might help with a diagnosis
alfalfasprout69 2 years ago
yes, I'll try to get a video up soon

My stopped working after 2 weeks. It now just makes beeping noises. If anyone has any advice feel free to give me some tips.

what kind of beep, actually if its two weeks old it should be under warranty, a good music store should just replace it for you!

Lol, cool LED in the wah :P

thanks dude... i looks awesome under dim stage lighting
alfalfasprout69 2 years ago
How exactly did you do that? You just soldered an LED and a resistor (to get it 5v instead of 9?) to the Wah's circuit?

Thanks, not sure if I'll have the guts to do this to a brand new Crybaby Classic though :P
It kinda looks like you've got neon light under the pedal, very nice :)

your right dude... the difference depends on the hunt for tone, and man.. i have never looked back.. modding this thing was the right decision for me

whoa whats with the light... you should show how you did that cause now i want one lol

Hmm, well for me the sound is good, but maybe I'll do like you now, it sounded nice :)
The only thing I don't like with it is that the on/off switch is bad, it's hard to change between 'em :P
Loket676 2 years ago 5
Oh, yours might not be bad but mine is... x)
Loket676 2 years ago 6
the tonesucking seems to be worse when your using distortion but i would suggest that you do to mod if you feel comfortable with a soldering iron.
