I notice a large group of old farts and their wives listening to the lecture in the first rows, were they sudents? It was the students who objected to the speaker and his rhetoric. One by one they protested and were led away as the proceedings continued. A creative form of protest in 2011, but still suspension is the answer by the faculty. Carry-on as the struggle must continue!

This is not about Islam, it's about Palestine. So saying "muslim agitators" is a mischaracterization. These are "pro-Palestine protesters". A peaceful non-violent form of protest from what appears to be students at UC Irvine. I notice a large group of old farts and their wives listening to the lecture in the first rows, were they sudents? It was the students who objected to the speaker and his rhetoric. One by one they protested and were led away as the proceedings continued. A creative form of protest in 2011, but still suspension is the answer by the faculty. Carry-on as the struggle must continue!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the MSU students who orchestrated this protest. Had it not been for the controversy that resulted from their actions I, along with thousands of others, would probably not have had the opportunity to hear Ambassador Oren's speech. I have to say that I, for one, agree with Dr. Oren.

This is not about Islam, it's about Palestine. So saying "muslim agitators" is a mischaracterization. These are "pro-Palestine protesters". The bigotry is evident in characterizing them as muslim when that is not the defining factor or uniting cause except for those who are anti-muslim and thus define people by that characteristic. That said, I think the way the students acted was immature and non-productive.

I find it funny that they collectively punish MSU when in fact it should have been the individual students who should be punished. Furthermore, I believe that the students who independently (meaning with no direct affiliation to MSU) and rudely interrupted Ambassador Oren should not be the representation of an entire group. Especially when this group, MSU, did not collectively vote to promote the past actions against Ambassador Oren. It seems irrational and illogical to unlawfully suspend MSU.
