  • Were was this filmed, what location? Please answer! :)

  • wow so amazing,

  • Looks so scary !

  • man if you cleared out that a-380 i could live in it its like a giant 2 story house with like 100 windows

  • You were at a great location. Can anyone watch planes land from the location you were at? I know LAX viewing areas have been limited after 911.

  • only 2 of 4 engines work :p nice landing.... 5/5

  • @XxF35LIGHTININGxX All the engines are working. Only the two inner engines have thrust reversers

  • @XxF35LIGHTININGxX the A380 doesn't need thrust reversers at all. Its wing generates so much lift it can land at the speed of an A320.(134kts) But FAA forced Airbus to integrate at least 2 thrust reversers for safety reasons. They choosed the inner engines to minimize ingestion risk due to the huge wing span.

  • @The214987 That's amazing.

  • @2014cwajts71 comment originally by techdefined.

  • this is where i want to live.

  • Amazing!!!!

  • Excellent view. Thanks for posting.

  • hi everyone i m the pilot who flew that aircraft i saw alot of u guys with cameras and video recorders thanx for the cherring that plane is hard to land but i did it horray right hahaahaha

  • @WCKblakout101 ooowww im your co-pilot then....

  • @peterFans ok then

  • that is the emptiest highway ive ever seen

  • gives me chills every single time I see it

  • hey guys thumbs up if this video looks like the game midnight club 2

  • @TheJonesyboii its time the 747 retired theres a new beast in the sky A380 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Id love to be in that yellow car when it lands

  • this shot shows how big the airplane really is. very nice!!

  • That's by far the best view I've seen!!

  • yes it's big but empty inside

  • wow, imagina that huge bird around 1000km/h over 40000ft

  • i saw 2 a380's when i went to thorpe park :)

  • Hmm looks like maybe #4 engines thrust reverser didn't activate.

  • I know the area this video was shot is in the vicinity of Lincoln Ave and LaTiera, but I'm not sure exactly. Does anyone else know where this may have been filmed from?

I'm trying to find a REALLY good viewing area at LAX like this one. This spot looks absolutely perfect actually!

  • beautiful

  • ooh notice the qantas 747 in the background. Australians are everywhere.

  • Why is it necessary for planes to be that big anyway!??

  • going to LAX in april to midway in chicago or o'hare!

  • there is a Qantas 747 in the background

  • Where were you set up to take that video? Looks like a good spot!!!

  • Looks like either the bridge above Lincoln Blvd or the roof of the OTIS Art College. Either one would be good spots but I think its the OTIS. Check em out if you can, some great spots for plane watching along with the In N Out off of Sepulveda heading north.

  • nice video. i'll ride that thing one day :)

  • that plane is so huge that LAX looks like a toy airport

  • that was nearly on the freeway lol

  • in the uk we got the 2 types of A380 now the Singapore one Qantas airlines and Emirates Airlines they all go to Heathrow Airport in uk which is the the busiest airport in the uk with flights leaving and landing ever 30 seconds amazing when you drive on the M25 and seeing the plane come down and looking at T5 and you can also see planes at Thrope Park (theme park) which is not that far from it but i still never seen the A380 1 day maybe

  • dam that thing is huge!

  • the A380 has 4 reverse thrusts but the pilots only use the 2 inboard engines (Engine 2+3) because 2 is enough to slow it down. If they use all 4 reverse thrusts the passenger comfort levels will be breeched

  • It doesn't have four, only two.

  • I stand corrected, your right, i looked more into it, A380 does only have 2 reverse thrusts. I appologise for what i said

  • me too

  • I think ive seen a Singapore A380 land with 4 reverse thrusters at Heathrow, but I might be wrong

  • do u even know what reverse thrust is

  • I am reverse thrust!

  • The A380 only has two reverse thrusters, both on inboard engines.

  • @atlboy82 Why would they put them on only those engines? You would think because of a plane that big it would take a lot to stop it.

  • they do have reverse thrusters on all engines

  • No they do not, learn before writing

  • At last, i tell you, I DONT LIKE A 380,

    and i´m from europe. i love 747 it´s a beauty plane.

  • @ryac2008 stop comparing them two airplanes tthe 747 had its glorious times back on the days now the a380 is here a better airplane for better times.

    Learn it

    Live with it

    Love it.

    AIRBUS RULES

  • hey guys can you say me how strong the 2 reverse thrust on the a380 are the 2 reverse thrust are so strong like 4 reverse thrust or are he has normal reverse thrust power PLS Answer PLS. Love Greats gaspeli

  • Awesome, like a pug

  • a question why the Airbus A380 lands with 2 revers thrust and not whit al revers thrust????

  • It only has two reverse thrusters. Thats all it needs. Most of it's stopping power comes from the brakes.

  • It wouldn't need even that, but FAA demanded that. And a big contribution to the great landing performance comes from the huge lift generating wings which allow the A380 to land at 135kts.

  • the brakes?? what brakes please?? do you mean reverse thrusters?

  • No I mean actual wheel brakes.

  • yeah , i wonder the same, there must be a suitable reason for it!!

  • Don't worry about Oprah. If she needs an airbus, she'll buy one...maybe 5 or 6 of them.

  • Comment removed

  • lol

  • AHAHAHAH!!! HELL YEAH MAN!

  • did they have reverse for all four? i saw that they only had it for three. must have been two and three.

  • only the inboard engines have thrust reversers. Airbus calculated that inboard reversers, brakes and spoilers are enough retardation for the A380. There was some controversy about that in the design and testing stages but no issues have ever arisen.

  • Fully correct, just a sidenote: the A380 doesn't need thrust reversers at all. Its wing generates so much lift it can land at the speed of an A320.(134kts) But FAA forced Airbus to integrate at least 2 thrust reversers for safety reasons. They choosed the inner engines to minimize ingestion risk due to the huge wing span.

  • ok but fow what for safety reassons i mean 2 reverse thrust are not strong this helps not so much why he land not with 0 reverse thrust and the a380 cant not overann the runway when he not activitates reverse thrust i think that.

  • what for safety reasons?

  • @techdefined Also I would say for stability issues, as if you were to use the outer ones, and if one failed, you would have some yaw issues there come up fast.

  • that means that the inboard reversers so strong like al four enginges?

  • anyone know why the outer engines dont reverse thrust?

  • I gues that the pilot´s can INOP outer engines thrust reversers. Outboard engines offen creates most F.O.D mtrl in to the engines. So if there is along runway is there no rally need to expose the A/C for a higher F.O.D exposal....

  • oh lol it should be somthing wrong lol

  • EEK IT'S THE SCAREBUS!

  • with all the technical prowess some of the people on here seem to have with their postings, i would say that alot of you are heading for very well paid jobs. on the other hand, if you have nothing to do with the airbus project then how the hell do you know all these things.

  • absolutely awesome. your lucky day.

    thnx 4 posting.

  • geez now that is a huge plane...

  • look at Big Bertha lol

  • yeah thats one big bitc#!

  • ok old snow but I thought I quicky answer to my previous response. the reason why the A380 has (only) 2 thrust reversers is because the outer engine may suck up the dirt a side the run-or taxiway...don't comment this if you couldn't care less :-o

  • A 1500 ft runway is actually pretty small for such a plane to be landing.

  • Runways at LAX

    Direction Length(ft)

    6L/24R 8,925

    6R/24L 10,285

    7L/25R 12,091

    7R/25L 11,096

there is no 1500 foot runway

  • Judging a plane by its looks??? ITS HISTORY MAN!!.. The Biggest Passenger Plane EVER!!..

  • OHH YAAAAAAA, History people.. something to be so proud of.. THE BIGGEST FINANCIAL DISASTER EVER FOR AIRTRASH!! OHHH, ya that's what I am talkin about!

  • Who you calling trash ? I'll smack your face !

  • You must be French.. Well FUCK OFF TO YOU PRICK FUCK!!!!!

  • tosssssssssssssssssssserrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Wendigo, I guess the CAA meant 4 thrust reversers instead of 2...ain't no modern Multi Jet AI without thrust reversers. for a A380 -even on optimal 12-13k feet of runway to land, thrust revers may come in very handy!

  • well i dont know what ur talking about but all i know is 747s and A380s use 2 reversers

  • have you heard the "form follows function" design theory?

  • I just do not find find the A380 attractive. The 747 is beautiful in its elegance and size. The A380, IMO, lacks the elegance. I think it would have looked much better if the cockpit and, thus, the cockpit windscreen had been higher in the fuselage like the 747.

  • I agree with you. The A380 is one of the ugliest planes in the world. But you said the windscreen and cockpit should be higher. It is much better to be lower.

  • really i mean the 1st floor cockpit just looks like crap, it gives the airplane a big "forehead" and it is real ugly but it does have the great size just not the nice design

  • Airbus has gone though five CEOs as multiple delays in the A380 program resulted in massive write-offs and a restructuring plan that foresees 10,000 job cuts over four years — not to mention billions of dollars in lost profit.

  • thank you for the useless read up . you fuck

  • Hey JESUS, FUCK YOU VERY MUCH TOO! Rot in hell.. the bottom line is this// AirTRASH sucks hairy balls.. the A(sshole)380 is a flop! PILE OF DOG SHIT!

  • hey i wouldnt go as far as callin it dog shit. its a big plane. and its awsum. but the dude just gave me useless info. and its jamezus not jesus. dumb shit.

  • ahhahah.. Ur a FOOL DUDE! Ask yo momma!

  • EAT SHIT!

  • no thanks. i dont like you very much

  • yeah the a380 mis sure one ugly duckling. every body is going against boeing becasuse airbus made the first double decker, actualy boeing did thirty years ago

  • yea

  • from what i have heard lately, the future of the A380 is not looking so bright. There have been a lot of problems and they keep pushing the release date. I could be wrong but this is what i have heard lately.

  • hot damn that thing is big.

  • That is a HUGE plane.

  • that guy made the worst landing ever...he didnt have it coordinated when he touched down.

  • Please grow up and look at other aviation videos what a bad landing is, before claiming such things.

  • Why just don't enjoy the plane? It really doesn't matter where the plane's from. I like this one, but also Boeing. Europeans please don't bash the USA, and Americans, please don't bash Europe. Thank you

  • Well said there are childish people on both sides. We should enjoy and always mind example: The 787 has lots of European parts while the A380 has lots of American made parts.

  • Airbus will kick Boeings ASS with this WONDERFUL plane! Boeing will loose many many customers! And that is GOOD SO! Europe is far in front - as usual when it comes to technical stuff - the USA still lives 25 years behind - but only people who have been in Europa (especially in Germany) know that! Again and again... Airbus ROCKS and built the most amazing plane ever cruising the sky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Europe ROCKS!

  • Im european, but i am looking forward to the boeing 787. It looks really nice, comfortable, and is more fuel efficient. But to me it dosnt matter who is better, airbus or boeing. they both do the same thing and are experts at it.

  • Gooooooooooooo BOEING

sry i like all boeing aircraft and MDs

  • Airbus has gone though five CEOs as multiple delays in the A380 program resulted in massive write-offs and a restructuring plan that foresees 10,000 job cuts over four years — not to mention billions of dollars in lost profit.

  • compared to the other planes, that thing is huge!!

  • For a moment i thought the cars on the highway were gonna stop and take in the view!!! But the wings on the thing looked like they were gonna break off...747 rules!

  • could you leave Spidey out of this? he's my hero

  • Too small in my opinion

  • That Plane is F*cking big but the 747 looks better than a A380

  • you know how I call 747-s? Brainy Toad, and Four-Eyed Waterspider, because they look that. They look retarded.

  • Your mom looks retarded. Seriously, the 747 was the FIRST double-decker and will ALWAYS be the first, Airbus just copied to try and take the lead.

  • Don't take my mother on your mouth you hamburger eating spiderman watching hippie dumbass!!! Yeah this is you and your kind!

  • The British Sauders-roe Princess flying boat was the first double decker, sorry to contradicted.

  • i fly a 737-400 and agree with you there is no possible way this plane will overcome the 747. The 747 has been here for a long time and companies arent willing to risk it with a new plane captain. John V. aeromexico crj700

  • Maybe not such "small" companys like aeromexico but the big Airlines will bet under pressure to buy the A380 to offer same services like other premium Airlines. Not to mention that will be the only plane with lowest CASM transporting most People with most Room.

  • I know the wings were reinforced but were they ever retested?? I feel Airbus made the plane 5% too big. When carbon breaks it is catastrophic. I am not sure I want to fly into a storm on one of these.

  • Good God, maybe tell that to the airlines this plane isnt safe, they sure will listen at you. Please all armchair Ceo's outta there no offense, but let make the decisions to the true professionals like Authoritys and Airlines.

  • When you buy carbon fibre bike components, the manufacturer always states to replace after 3 yrs. This is probably because the material still doesnt have a track record. Sure, its a safe material if used correctly but the airbus is still overweight, the wings needed strengthening...and there have been other structural issues. all that stuff about wiring delays- I heard that was a smokescreen too

  • So this is the Airbus version of a carpool???

  • Amazing!!!

  • Because neither the FAA or the EASA didnt required it. Everyone who does question proving on analysis just dont have a clue about engeneering.Or do you want imply you know more then the FAA or EASA?May i have to remind you about 737 rudder and fuselage buckling issues? Is it unsafe? No.

  • A380 Rules! It is the most comfortable airplane in the world

  • Funny how people are throwing with ignorant assumptions about the A380 being unsafe.Airbus has reinforced the wing and proven it to FAA on a analysis that it can hold ultimate load.BTW a A380 broke a worldrecord in trials landing with almost 200 Tons over maximum landing weight.

  • But they never retested it. No thanks...I'll pass.

  • Because neither the FAA or EASA requiered it. Everyone who questions proving on analysis/Data just dont have a clue about engeneering.Or do you want imply you know more then the FAA or EASA?

  • That's one big bitch!

  • To pilottofly :you can't compare a 787 to the Airbus A-380.

The Airbus is about 3-4size bigger then 787 and there was a huge need for a plane like the 787,because itcovers more segments then the 787!

And also only LH purchased 20 747-8 Passenger Version!

  • feels like a corporate skyscraper in air

  • You captured the best angle I've seen for the LAX landing

  • to 1blancer1 Well, the 747-8 doesn't exist yet just on paper (computer) and like you mentioned the wiring problem=solved, the wing problem=solved, so what's your problem ???

  • neither does the 787 but its had more orders than the A380.

  • Yeah, Airbus "solved" the wing problem by saying "Oh, don't worry, everything will be fine." They never re-tested. The wiring problem was "solved" by hand-wiring the first couple that will be delivered. Who knows what will happen after that? Let's put it this way, I darn sure wouldn't be on an A-380 the first time one hits severe clear air turbulence.

  • If i'm not wrong the NTSB which is ours (USA) gave the Airbus the OK to put the airplane into commercial service so what's the point.

And for sure the will not have the the problems which they had i the future, learnig from expierence !!!

  • I sincerely hope you're right about that.

  • Haha you're ignorant and stupid!

  • did it land on 24R?

  • AFAFAFAFAF99 sorry yeah i know british and spanish,too.

This is truly an plane which will run for the next 40 years it is a plane for the 21.century!

The Boeing 747-800 is a little bit kind of facelifting nothing new.

I was as an american a huge fan of Boeing, but i have think about bit again.

  • They don't use the outside reversthrust, because it would damage the wings which are so huge they would shake too much.

  • They will board on both levels, and it wont just be 1 door on each level but 2!

  • Why didn't the 2nd thrust reversers engage on the right side?

  • Maybe he decided he didnt need them!

  • The CAA insisted that the A380 be fitted with thrust reversers if it was to operate in US airspace. The original A380 design did not require thrust reversers to stop within it's required distance, so Airbus only added Thrust Reversers to the two in-board to make the aircraft CAA compliant.

  • We americans, should admit that this time the european (german-frenchbuild airbus ) ist better then our aging B 747!

  • Aged 747?? I guess you haven't heard about the 747-8. The A380 has serious wiring problems, and then there's the issue of the wing that failed and broke off during load testing.

  • Well, the 747-8 doesn't exist yet just on paper (computer) and like you mentioned the wiring problem=solved, the wing problem=solved, so what's your problem ???

  • british and spanish also ;)

  • very huge!! a plane that holds 500 people must be an air mansion!!

  • fcking bigass plane

  • They have seperate boarding for the upper level. Thus it would be faster than boarding a 747.

  • Great video of the landing ,, nice job!!

  • And the french so arrogant to think this will even compete with what boeing has to offer, yeah there is a niche market but it is def not the future of aviation, that will come to light when the 787 and 747-800 roll out, true leaps in aviation!!! Size doesn't matter on time delivery and not having customers do.

  • American so arrogant

  • American dicks so arrogant

  • Best view of the landing of all the videos!

  • That is one BIG ASS PLANE!!! Come to Detroit i work at the airport.

  • Foo Fighters "Learn to Fly" 1999

  • thats one big ass plane

  • ppl call the 747 the queen of the skies, But I think the A380 just topped Boeing with this enormous mammoth, they should call it the king of the skies
