@XxF35LIGHTININGxX the A380 doesn't need thrust reversers at all. Its wing generates so much lift it can land at the speed of an A320.(134kts) But FAA forced Airbus to integrate at least 2 thrust reversers for safety reasons. They choosed the inner engines to minimize ingestion risk due to the huge wing span.

Maybe not such "small" companys like aeromexico but the big Airlines will bet under pressure to buy the A380 to offer same services like other premium Airlines. Not to mention that will be the only plane with lowest CASM transporting most People with most Room.
I know the wings were reinforced but were they ever retested?? I feel Airbus made the plane 5% too big. When carbon breaks it is catastrophic. I am not sure I want to fly into a storm on one of these.
Good God, maybe tell that to the airlines this plane isnt safe, they sure will listen at you. Please all armchair Ceo's outta there no offense, but let make the decisions to the true professionals like Authoritys and Airlines.
When you buy carbon fibre bike components, the manufacturer always states to replace after 3 yrs. This is probably because the material still doesnt have a track record. Sure, its a safe material if used correctly but the airbus is still overweight, the wings needed strengthening...and there have been other structural issues. all that stuff about wiring delays- I heard that was a smokescreen too
Because neither the FAA or the EASA didnt required it. Everyone who does question proving on analysis just dont have a clue about engeneering.Or do you want imply you know more then the FAA or EASA?May i have to remind you about 737 rudder and fuselage buckling issues? Is it unsafe? No.
Funny how people are throwing with ignorant assumptions about the A380 being unsafe.Airbus has reinforced the wing and proven it to FAA on a analysis that it can hold ultimate load.BTW a A380 broke a worldrecord in trials landing with almost 200 Tons over maximum landing weight.
Because neither the FAA or EASA requiered it. Everyone who questions proving on analysis/Data just dont have a clue about engeneering.Or do you want imply you know more then the FAA or EASA?
to 1blancer1 Well, the 747-8 doesn't exist yet just on paper (computer) and like you mentioned the wiring problem=solved, the wing problem=solved, so what's your problem ???
Yeah, Airbus "solved" the wing problem by saying "Oh, don't worry, everything will be fine." They never re-tested. The wiring problem was "solved" by hand-wiring the first couple that will be delivered. Who knows what will happen after that? Let's put it this way, I darn sure wouldn't be on an A-380 the first time one hits severe clear air turbulence.
The CAA insisted that the A380 be fitted with thrust reversers if it was to operate in US airspace. The original A380 design did not require thrust reversers to stop within it's required distance, so Airbus only added Thrust Reversers to the two in-board to make the aircraft CAA compliant.
Aged 747?? I guess you haven't heard about the 747-8. The A380 has serious wiring problems, and then there's the issue of the wing that failed and broke off during load testing.
Well, the 747-8 doesn't exist yet just on paper (computer) and like you mentioned the wiring problem=solved, the wing problem=solved, so what's your problem ???
And the french so arrogant to think this will even compete with what boeing has to offer, yeah there is a niche market but it is def not the future of aviation, that will come to light when the 787 and 747-800 roll out, true leaps in aviation!!! Size doesn't matter on time delivery and not having customers do.
ppl call the 747 the queen of the skies, But I think the A380 just topped Boeing with this enormous mammoth, they should call it the king of the skies
Were was this filmed, what location? Please answer! :)

No.

A380 Rules! It is the most comfortable airplane in the world
Garyffalos 4 years ago
Funny how people are throwing with ignorant assumptions about the A380 being unsafe.Airbus has reinforced the wing and proven it to FAA on a analysis that it can hold ultimate load.BTW a A380 broke a worldrecord in trials landing with almost 200 Tons over maximum landing weight.

But they never retested it. No thanks...I'll pass.

To pilottofly :you can't compare a 787 to the Airbus A-380.
The Airbus is about 3-4size bigger then 787 and there was a huge need for a plane like the 787,because itcovers more segments then the 787!
And also only LH purchased 20 747-8 Passenger Version!

edbrown100 5 years ago
to 1blancer1 Well, the 747-8 doesn't exist yet just on paper (computer) and like you mentioned the wiring problem=solved, the wing problem=solved, so what's your problem ???
backtola2007 5 years ago
neither does the 787 but its had more orders than the A380.
pilottofly 5 years ago
Yeah, Airbus "solved" the wing problem by saying "Oh, don't worry, everything will be fine." They never re-tested. The wiring problem was "solved" by hand-wiring the first couple that will be delivered. Who knows what will happen after that? Let's put it this way, I darn sure wouldn't be on an A-380 the first time one hits severe clear air turbulence.
b1blancer1 5 years ago
If i'm not wrong the NTSB which is ours (USA) gave the Airbus the OK to put the airplane into commercial service so what's the point.
And for sure the will not have the the problems which they had i the future, learnig from expierence !!!

I sincerely hope you're right about that.

AFAFAFAFAF99 sorry yeah i know british and spanish, too.
This is truly an plane which will run for the next 40 years it is a plane for the 21.century!
The Boeing 747-800 is a little bit kind of facelifting nothing new.
I was as an american a huge fan of Boeing, but i have think about bit again.
backtola2007 5 years ago
They don't use the outside reversthrust, because it would damage the wings which are so huge they would shake too much.
backtola2007 5 years ago
They will board on both levels, and it wont just be 1 door on each level but 2!
AFAFAFAFAF99 5 years ago
Why didn't the 2nd thrust reversers engage on the right side?
Davidmanny3424 5 years ago
Maybe he decided he didnt need them!
AFAFAFAFAF99 5 years ago
The CAA insisted that the A380 be fitted with thrust reversers if it was to operate in US airspace. The original A380 design did not require thrust reversers to stop within it's required distance, so Airbus only added Thrust Reversers to the two in-board to make the aircraft CAA compliant.

bobduvar 5 years ago
We americans, should admit that this time the european (german-frenchbuild airbus ) ist better then our aging B 747!
backtola2007 5 years ago
Aged 747?? I guess you haven't heard about the 747-8. The A380 has serious wiring problems, and then there's the issue of the wing that failed and broke off during load testing.
b1blancer1 5 years ago

They have seperate boarding for the upper level. Thus it would be faster than boarding a 747.

And the french so arrogant to think this will even compete with what boeing has to offer, yeah there is a niche market but it is def not the future of aviation, that will come to light when the 787 and 747-800 roll out, true leaps in aviation!!! Size doesn't matter on time delivery and not having customers do.
