  • what does kiss mean

  • @cjprice1100 Keep It Simple Stupid

  • @cjprice1100 Back when KISS first came out, religious fanatics thought it was an acronym for: Knights In Satan's Service. Gotta give it to them for creativity.

  • @cjprice1100 knights in satan's service

  • @Roachenator Ace Frehley is my favorite guitarist. And KISS is my favorite band. But they definitely do not owe everything to Ace. He might of wrote 3 songs that EVERYONE KNOWS, New York Groove, Shock Me, and Cold Gin. Plus, he could not sing worth shit but still wouldn't be a great band without him.

  • @CameronMusicMan New York Groove isnt Ace song ...

  • @KISSbestfan Still, he sang it. You get my point.

  • @CameronMusicMan you sir are retarded. New York Groove wasn't written by Ace, It was a cover. And Ace wrote the following songs for KISS, Cold Gin, Shock Me, Strange Ways, Parasite, All the songs on "Ace Frehley" with the exception of New York Groove, Talk To Me, Two Sides of The Coin, Get Away, Co-wrote Comin' home and C'mon and Love Me with Paul, Hard Times, Torpedo Girl ,Into The Void, and others I can't think of at them moment. Ace Didn't write everything but did contribute alot.

  • I've always loved this song!

  • the 2 people who disliked this song prefer cold than cold gin haha kiss forever

  • this is sooo cool!! after i heard it i was spittin blood and explosions were goin off in my house!!!

  • My cold gin daze are over! Still love KISS, THOUGH!

  • @sabbathfreak1 phlip??

  • Street level magic. From the begginings. The earliest tracks are some of my faves. A monster Rock N' Roll machine being created right here. My god these guys were as big an influence and part of my childhood and early teens as hockey cards, comicbooks and PLAYBOY magazine. LOL. I love these guys. One of the greatest Rock N' Roll dreams realized.

  • Very Powerful! Love it! No wonder they are my favorite band!!!!

  • where can I get these demo's????

  • Its in standard tuning? Thought it'd be in E flat...

  • F'n awesome!!! It's Cold Gin time again!!!

  • Love this song ..kiss is the hottest band in the world ! Classic album ..35 yrs and still going strong , been a kiss fan for since I was a kid .. Those were the days

  • @Bassmaster970 : 100% agree with you !!!!!

  • This is pure magic, the chemistry and fun and desire Gene, Ace, Paul and Peter was great.

  • YOU WANTED THE BEST, YOU GOT THE BEST, THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD, KIϟϟ

  • early, dark ages stuff; this was before they took to tuning their guitars a half step down.

  • Ace wrote this song while riding on the subway. true

  • love the drums after the break near the end

  • You can hear them getting it together here. Awesome.

  • You can hear them getting in it together here. Awesome.

  • Where can I get a copy of this ?.....

  • Man, this kicks ass!!!

  • this is the kiss i like. once the 80s hit hey went to shit

  • 05:55 I love the way Pete plays that straight beat on the first verse.

  • witch one of them is screaming wwhhoooww in the beginging

  • @norwaydude6 FIREHOUSE

  • @01artist what the fuck firehouse it,s a song........

  • @norwaydude6 Yes it is a song off of the KISS record that came out in 73-74. The earlier live versions is killer hot.

  • @01artist yeah but i asked whos screaming in the begginging and you answered firehouse

  • @norwaydude6 If you read my next post to you it says "I read the message wrong" and I also said "it was Paul Stanley" as well as Gene Simmons together that screams that at the beginning of Fire House. I made a mistake and I appalogize.

  • @01artist dude i screw tings up all the time it,s ok

  • @01artist Sorry I get the message wrong, It is Paul Stanley that say that in the beginning of Fire House. Sorry for the missinformation

  • Just to let people know Alot of the demo versions of songs that KISS did at first were used when doing live concerts. That is how they did it. Just like when someone makes a film they do it they way they want it and then they cut it down to a shorter size.

  • this has like an ac dc sound to it

  • The drums at the end are pure Peter Criss! Great!

  • @frwyguy right on!

  • This is the tune that a young guitarist would have written, with the wild solo at the end. Much better than the released version, except the drums at the end.

  • shame that we cant hear what ace sounded like when he originally sang it. his voice was supposed to be pretty flat so gene got the song.

  • @MaddBadgerr Actually according to KISStory, Ace never wanted to be a singer. He preferred to play lead guitar and do backup vocals. It wasn't until later that Ace sang on an album or on tours. I do like this version, grittier, more KISS' style.

  • @lordzaphodbeeb lol reminds me of 'im snowblind, i cant see a thing, im snowblind, I DONT WANNA SING'

  • @MaddBadgerr I'd have loved to hear Ace sing this though. He did turn out to be a great vocalist.

  • @MaddBadgerr I read somewhere a very long time ago that for Ace to be able to hit the notes accurately, that sometimes he had to lay on his back during the studio sessions

  • @airtanker1 sounds like a rumour inspired by that episode of The Simpsons where Homer gets injured but gains an opera-singing ability whenever he lies flat on his back

  • @MaddBadgerr Funny!!

  • @airtanker1 It wasn't hitting notes that was the issue, it's that he would have anxiety attacks. He would lie down so that he could relax and not get too nervous.

  • Eddie Kramer produced these demos. He later produced "Alive"

I have to agree with Eddie, these demos kick the shit out of the actual release, lots more raw energy

  • Moor cowbell!

  • @Azreal93 LMFAO!!!

  • Sounds almost the same as the official released version, but drums at the ending are terrible. I prefer the Alive version better.

  • yeah¡¡¡

  • You know how little kids are singing songs while they are out playing or on the swingset?? That was me in the 70's, but singing KISS songs. LOL Little kid on the swingset singing stuff like "Cold Gin", "Love Gun", and "Rock and Roll All Nite"..... I'm sure I wasn't the only kid in grade school that knew all the words and guitar solos.

  • @MrBB6953 I agree, I was going around school all the time going "you pull the trigger of my love gun baby" lol.

  • @Hawgknot : Back then, it was funny....today, probably get thrown out of school and have no idea why lol

  • @MrBB6953 right, rofl, still great jams though, KISS will never die man, never.

  • @Hawgknot : Never die!! Yeah, sticking out the tongue at 7 years old and telling girls that 'they call me Dr. Love" only works for so long LOL good thing I didn't know what Plaster Caster was or art class would've really got me in trouble.

  • @MrBB6953 oh man same here, i didnt hear "Plaster Caster" until i was in the 10th grade but, i never bothered to get the ingredients whipped up, lol.

  • better than the album version!!!

  • My kind of music, thank you for share this my friend!

  • KISS + Eddie Kramer = Pure Magic.

  • KISS owes everything to Ace Frehley

  • Man that sounds like a phone ringing in the background like this was recorded open air much later. Naturally back in 72-73 they didn't have tones back then...just ring a ding ding bells. It seems to happen during the chorus but not all the time which leads me to believe it's some sort of feedback from the drums?

  • les plus beaux pour l'epoque

  • ITS COLD GIN TIME AGAIN!!!!

  • wow compare this with the Gene's voice on Sonic Boom? totally different

  • @GOORVY : i've said for years this sounds like ace singing in a rougher voice. doesn't sound like gene to me at all

  • This is a better version than the one that made it to the album.

  • I saw the boys on the In Concert TV show in March of 1974, and went out and bought this album. This is their best studio album. Their live shows today still revolve around the songs from this album. I saw the boys in Toronto in June of 1974, and that was an incredible time period for this band. New. Fresh. Exciting. Hungry.

  • Awesome KISS really fuckin' good!!!!

Gene, Ace, Paul and Peter are a gods of rock and roll!!!

  • This is so incredibly good. This reminds me of why I fell in love with kiss in 1978.

  • nice post. the vocals here are better than the record which was great

  • before superfame, they had great songs and performances, ace played so good, etc. this is my favorite record of theirs.

  • who's voice is that?

  • @unsology gene

  • @unsology

    Gene's.

  • Kiss was always heavier then those who came after.....

  • cool demo!!

  • not bad from a little jewish boy who hadn't even seen a television before moving to america. I guess he deserves his money and (ass)holiness..

  • gene's vocals here are really exceptional!

  • This is in a different key than the studio version

  • because they didnt tune down for the demo

  • It's time to leave and get anouther qart around the corner at the licker store

  • The best versions of all of there stuff was the Demos. Why they didn't use this one was beyound me.

  • @01artist not soo crisp and 'presentable' which is ok... that's why live was soo important back 'then'...

i was there... we soo looked forward to live! no, i'm not complaining. now, demos are a xmas gift!

  • Ace sings this so much better than Gene ever could. Ace wrote it, so heknows what emotions would be needed to sing it. Check him singing it on the 1998 Psycho Circus Tour.

  • MarshallDawn:

Ace didn't want to sing it. Gene tried to encourage him to, but Ace was afraid. He sang "Shock Me" alone, laying down on the floor in the dark. Also, since Gene doesn't drink, it doesn't really make sense for him to sing it.

  • The vocal is great..

  • Basic good old stuff. That's classic. And it's magic. I love that sound.

  • ace looks stoned in the pic here lol.

  • very creative solo and exellent clasiic kiss song, kiss sules before and now

  • Possibly the best classic rock song EVER.

    Kiss rules :]

  • @sb3124

Ace Frehley is what rules. Amazing.

  • Ace Frehley is pure magic, some of the old KISS demos have amazing groove and you can just hear the chemistry the original 4 had.

  • Classic

  • wait... thats not paul singing its gene or ace or both like on the album. but not paul he sound way dif.

  • Sweet....This sounds better than the version on the 1st album......This was the demo produced by Eddie Kramer, who also produced Alive, and all of the good studio records..I guess, being a new band at the time they got stuck with whatever producer the record company wanted..too bad cause the first record would have been better sonically with Eddie Kramer producing...awesome song all the same though!

  • bob ezrins production on destroyer is great

  • Paul looks like he's pinching a monster loaf.

  • ha ha ha !!! Or his christmas goose came early!!!

  • Ha ha ha!! That,s a funny expression to take a major crap!

  • I'm loving how Peter's snare sounds like a tom.

  • I know it`s cool...

but I like the snare way better when it`s tighter ; )

  • when this song came out, i was nine and me andmy friend used to play kiss. lol. i was space Ace! magic, really good times. i grew listening only kiss!

  • I was 18 when this was written and recorded! wow!

  • haha my father was like 12 or 11. and man did he do a great job raising me to a metal head! Kiss was the first band i saw live. my favorite band. i love them, and will allwayes do!

  • I got this on cassette for Christmas in 1995. I've spent hundreds of hours listening to that tape. Pure magic!

And no, I wouldn't be interested in selling!

  • sniffs... i'm back.... where i belong.. *wipes tears*

  • were can i download this

  • love this better than the one on the actual record!

  • WICKED Gene vocals, here! Love it! Raw, vintage and edgy,. Thank you.

  • Great demo! =D

  • there first album release is there best

  • dynasty is good but only because of Ace. His 3 songs are the 3 best on the album. props to him for staying away from that disco crap

  • omg did the songs in the beginning always run this long? i'm not complaining i just find it weird. i guess cause it's a demo and they wanna get all their talent out there. idk.

  • Hell yes.

  • Nice.

  • The record company had make-up artist come in and do their make-up for this cover. Gene's make-up is a little different also. Niether Gene or Peter liked the way it turned out. I read that in one of the books Gene put out!

  • peter's makeup on this cover is so odd and different looking did he ever appear like that on stage?

  • mabye like very few shows in the beginning, but it looks like it takes hours to take it on... so the live-mask is quicker to take on....

  • @bloodlinefilms No Peter never did play with this version this make-Up. This was done for the record cover art by a make-up artist. Peter hated it but it was suposed to look mre Japanese Kabuki for some odd reason.

  • thank u ace for this great kiss classic

  • KISS at there best!

  • hmm sounds like this has remade version starting from 5.17... say if im wrong but it sounds like so

  • I know I am going to get a lot of flack from this But the Kiss debut album rocks way better then Guns and Roses.

  • yeah no!!! Kiss is a million times better than guns and roses!!!!

  • @fronio89 absolutely, however not a lot of people think the GNR debut album is the best debut album, and the only few are wrong haha

  • @GOORVY for 1987 it was an incredible LP.

was begger than crazy Nights, But kiss out did them in everything.

including Releasing New LP's Every year until 86 that was the first

year they missed. the 98- 2009 was way too Long for a wait

  • @MetalHeart8787 of course it IS a grat LP but people think the LP is the best debut album and it isn't and you're right, too long for a wait haha

  • @GOORVY yeah Hotter than hell & dressed to kill are so much better.

for 80's Bands Yeah their first release are usually the Best like cinderella &

poison & skidrow, after the first lp they went down hill.

  • @MetalHeart8787 : oh the first kiss album and rock and roll over are my 2 fave 70's kiss albums. everyone's different tho, lol

  • @strutter0812 I do like it especially stutter & kissin time.

Rock&roll over is an Amazing LP also one of my favs.

theres so many kiss lps i like

  • @fronio89 why do you think you wouldve gotten flamed for dissing GNR on a KISS Vid?

  • @Blackdragon52k Its similar to the remark I made on Emotional Rescue ,saying that was the last true Stones album. (which in my oipinion it was). I got dozens of Stern hate-mail style replys. With my replys to theirs they cry like like little bitches to administration saying I was offensive to them. Covering my tracks, besides I crushed them, 2 even lost their accounts.........

  • @fronio89 Damn, they would have been mad at me then. I've always felt that Some Girls was the last true Stones album.

  • good old days

  • That's interesting. Don Trump don't drink either. They're both super successful! I would rather fuck 4,600 wimmen than drink.

  • When did Gene give up drinking?

  • GENE NEVER DRANK! EVER! Ace wrote the song, but Gene sang it.

  • idd gene never drank! nor drugs or something but you don't have to give mymusicdiscovery a dumb down for that!

  • Lol sorry I'm just tired of everyone saying Gene drank just because he sang this song.

  • Cause dumb people don't realize Ace pretty much made this song.

  • Exactly. Which is a lot of people.

  • yea ace did alot of writing when he was with the band. hes all over the first three albums

  • @legolas1994304 Gene has had a drink. He said he has drank wine at dinner before just to be polite while with Niel Bogart.. But he doesn't make it a habbit of drinking. I do not drink either but it is more because I think it all taste like shit.

  • Genes secret vice was pills........

  • u suck he's never before

  • dude you suck, for not owning a copy of

"Music from the Elder and "Creatures of the Night".

  • what i own a copy of creatures and the elder

  • Me too. And I've listened to The Elder and Creatures a hell of a lot more than Dynasty or Unmasked.

  • Creatures of the Night is CRIMINALLY underrated. Their heaviest and most kick ass album. And The Elder is a thousand times better than Dynasty and Unmasked.

  • To bad they did not remove "I was made "and put "Strutter 78" on Dynasty.

It was really not a bad album.

  • Ironically enough, Dynasty is the effort that got me into KISS. Was nine years old when I first heard "I Was Made For Lovin' You" at a friend's birthday party. "I Was Made..." is one of my ALL TIME favorites!

  • i want to download this version on my comp but cant find it

  • This was the picture on the cover of that album, right??? Or is it a variation from the one on the actual cover?

  • This is an out-take from the actual cover shoots. I have included all in my 73-75 sideshow, with was deleted.

  • @robgreg7 variation, but this is better haha

  • I'm liking these demos better than the versions that made it onto the album!

    Whered you get these?

Also this is a better cover! It better represents each band member's personality and paul doesn't look like he has a lazy eye here like he doesnt on the actual cover!

    Whered you get the picture?!

  • It really would make more sense for Ace to sing this. he wrote it and Gene doesn't even drink! Oh well! Still a kick ass song!

  • funny how gene is singin this and he is agaist drinkin

whata pussy but he fucking rocks

  • Yo, KISSbestfan, there's no way this '72. 1973 yes.

  • I wish they had put this on the box set. I would like to hear the Love Gun demos Gene Simmons did with the Van Halens, but the rights aren't being given out by the Van Halens.

  • This fucking kicks ass.

  • Peter's playing is actually better on this compared to the original.I also find the vocals on these early demos are sassier.

  • And to think Stanley and Simmons got tired of Eddie Kramer and traded him off for super douchebag Vini Poncia. Dynasty and Unmasked ruined them.

  • I know... they should never done the solo albums, I think that`s one of the reasons they broke up...

  • 1978 was the most successful year for KISS but it was also the end and the solo albums didn't help at. However it was kickass to see how great Ace Frehley's solo album turned out.

  • I know, the solo albums went great, but it splittet `em : (

  • If they only pressed say 20 thousand copys each, they would of been excellent additions to any fans collection ...

  • That's a good point. I think Casablanca had more copies of those albums pressed than anything else that the band ever did. They sold a lot at first but a lot of them were sent back to the pressing plants or put in the bargain bins.

  • @EILIVdrummer They broke up because Peter and Ace thought they were the shit. They were not happy being in a band. They wanted to be the band. Ace did well in the 80's because he had talent. He did what he was good at. Peter on the other hand was given a bad rap by being in KISS. Peter is a great Jazz Drummer but everyone wants him to be a rock and roll drummer. So for Peter to be famous he needs to be able to do what he is best at. But upon doing that he would loose all of his fan base.

  • @01artist I can't really say I agree, but sure. c:
