  • lol

    "now ill use the dramal"

    dremel*

  • WTF!!!! MISTAKE, MISTAKE, MISTAKE, the lathe is fine I also use

this type of lathe setup ( The Poor Mans Pakistani Lathe) it works

well, BUT DONT USE A DREMEL TOOL, Use metal files smooth or coarse

these work very well, Try It........"Tip of the day."

  • it would of been easyer and faster to make a giant pencil sharpener

  • Nice Job... Might need some tweaking but you Got'er done..

  • Thanks Madinventor. Some of us don't have machines to do the job correctly. Perhaps that is whats wrong with allowing other countries to take that chance and just try.

  • I assure you that the speed was low and if you noticed the Dremel was secured by screws.

    It worked for me.

  • I can't believe this vid has more dislikes than likes. I have a complete machine shop, and I still find this idea very useful and cool. :-D

  • holly fucking shit !!!!…

this guy's ready for suicide !!!…

that piece of wood is wobbling as hell, the motor holds only by duck tape the rest is not more secured, he didn't care for thinking of a tool holder and he wears no gloves (and probably no goggles !…)…

  • @vincent7520 Just a comment. I hope you don't wear gloves when working on your actual lathe. I have worked in a few machine shops and the general rule is to no wear gloves when working on rotating equipment (lathe, drill press, mill, etc...). Reason being is the glove is an easy item for the equipment to grab and hold on to. I have actually seen people lose fingers on a lathed because their glove got caught. Face shield, goggles are a must though!! Personally, I like this Red-Neck solution

  • @tgbailey1 My bad about the gloves. You are perfectly right : I got overwhelmed by my own argument : I never wear gloves either, and always fold up my sleeves around my arms.

I wouldn't call it a Red-Neck solution : most Red-Necks I met in the US or at home are great professionals and do things very seriously with the appropriate tools. They're even able to make their own tools !…

Have a good week end !…

  • this guy sounds just like a computer voice =]

  • not a 2x4

  • Inventive, creative!

  • if you set that up with the drill on the left, it would spin the top towards you, and you could have used a wood rasp to turn the dowl down. unless that drill have a reverse, then that would work to.

good idea thou. you got the job done. that's what counts. as a matter of fact, i have a pitchfork that needs the same thing done to the handle to set it back in there. so, thank you for the idea.

  • decider and lovin it

  • now that's a cool idea !, thanks for sharing.

    Tim

  • HAHA never would have thought of using hand drill!!!! nice job sir.

  • What is this. I don't even...

    Wtf is a druh-mel?

    At 1:28, X marks the -- nevermind.

  • this is the sort of video that I can fall in love with, thank you VERY MUCH for sharing. You sound like a TOP bloke !

  • A little difficult way to do it but very creative and got the job done.

  • you could have the f thing cut with a kitchen knife

  • simple and very helpful...niceeeee

  • Maybe resting a Coors on your stomach and watching the mindless box is a better way to spend an afternoon. Yes, I could have whittled it but the whole idea was to get those brain cells sparking. It works for me. I feel sorry for your brother.

  • It's taut not taunt , "Great way to waste an afternoon" I would have just whittled it down with a jack knife, then sanded it smooth by hand . However if you have 30 or 40 of those handles that need to be sanded down this is probably a good way to go but for just one it's a bit of overkill . You remind me of my brother. He would take 6 hours to fabricate a 20lb hammer to kill an ant

  • Interesting set up. I agree..Red Green would be proud of this guy! He would probably recomend a little more duct tape though.

  • Coming from masters of wood as yourself, thank you!

  • @bohdanmon Being creative and working with what you got gets big points in my world! Especially if it gets the job done! Thanks for sharing.

  • @woodentoolcompany needs a few more parts for a chicken defeather. try using a rasp instead of a dremel.

  • Crafty Not something i would want to do my work on but hey for a table leg why not. kinda ingenious smashed in with "Red Green"

  • Very squirrely setup. But hey. It works!

  • insted of using a dremel tool i would have used a rasp and then a smooth file

  • not bad

  • it is DREmel...with the emphasis on the first syllable...not dreMEL...

  • Red Green would be proud!

  • you say dremel funny

  • duct tape lathe

  • It's always satisfying to solve a problem with a bit of imagination and some 'make-do'.

    Best Wishes, Brendan.
