Even IF Cuba became a US playground, it would provide a much better standard of living than the majority of Cubans live in now. I was in Havana in September and it is amazing that what once was a prosperous, beautiful island nation is now a decaying, dysfunctional ghetto. Of course Fidel lives in the lap of luxury with abundant wealth, while the majority of Cubanos live in abject poverty. Younger Cubans want relations with the US,,,they long for US dollars to upgrade their standard of life.
