That's not the engine, otherwise the Pete would sound no different than the Autocar ASL. The pumps are still open. I've noticed that this particular pump-motor [that powers the packing systems in the body] is usually always on during drive but probably not supplying. We have these same RLs in San Francisco on Autocars using the same pumps, and driven similarly as well. I guess it's up to operator discretion whether or not to completely shut the pumps off.
@staintedcards I don't know if that's the engine or the PTO. I don't think he's the normal driver,though. This is an ex-AW truck. They kinda use it for whatever they need it for that day. Christmas trees,missed stops,a spare,two commodities,one commodity,you name it.
