@meccaturbo indeed, let me ask you what engine being used in today's USA's commerical airlines would be the most efficient? I think its 737 but im not sure lol
@speeddevil2193 The CFM56 engines used on the 737's are extremely efficient. They either are the most efficient, or close to it. Award winning partnership by GE and Snecma of France.
How do you know that it was built in 1969? I never found info about the production date inside the aircraft or did you ask the pilot?
Well, I took the route CBB-LPZ twice in 2003, also with 727-100 of LAB taking the first flight in the early morning out of three daily flight they once made.
Love the old Boeing machines also Aerosur stuff!!!!
@WolleKing There's plenty of sites online where you can research the history of an aircraft by its registration. Airlinersdotnet is a good one. This particular 727 was delivered brand new to LAB and served 36 full years with them only. Many airliners go through different hands, this one stuck around with its original owner.
The 727 was the best aircraft ever built, period! I am a longtime admirer of this aircraft and was lucky to work for 4 years as an airline crew member for now defunct American Trans Air. For a while we were able to bid monthly schedules by aircraft type and for 8 solid months I flew only 727 trips, it was great. The sounds of the engines bring back flying memories, I miss this bird.
no, the 717 is basically a dc-9 that was meant for the 21st century. Two engines mounted on the rear with T-tail instead of three engines, one engine in s-duct, mounted on the rear with T-tail
he's making a flaps 5 degrees takeoff; this is due to the airport being at a hgih altitude for less drag...note the long run. I miss flying these old birds too !!!
Pleasing, pleasing sound :))

Old P&W JT8D's....great engine, but not very fuel efficient. CFM56 series is a much more modern engine, far more fuel efficient.

Is this the "original" 727? The engine looks quite close to the wing, so I think it's not the 727-200.

Yes it is, it's 727-100, built in 1969.

That old recollections, it was the first plane in the one that travels, and it was of the best of his epoch.

Pretty standard, nothing abnormal about the flap setting.
