  • Robert Newton the greatest Pirate of them all

  • @omearadaniel Argh ,Barnacle Bob agrees!

  • I wonder how many people that do the "pirate voice" realize they're really doing Robert Newton's Long John Silver.. and not nearly as well.. thanks for posting!

  • First saw this in B&W ! God what memories it brings back! I was a little kid when this series aired.............love to see the whole series again - just for old times sake me hearties HAR HAR!

  • Do u have the whole series?

  • In the "Hancock's Half Hour" episode "The Set That Failed" Tony Hancock hilariously acts out this show by himself & they had his Robert Newtonn impression as a running (or hopping) gag

  • @BlackMariaDownUnder Hancock once said that he was huge admirer of Robert Newtonand that he based his own personality on him.

  • @GordonMorrice and who wouldnt?lol

  • Several 1950's filmed adventures were made in colour as it was anticipated that Colour TV would come in way earlier than it did. Long John Silver was actually made in Australia, which didn't even have TV then !

  • yeah poor long john silver :( "its looks like the end of the world " yeah really true X3without silver ,who could have some adventures :( ?

  • poor John :(

  • Fantastic characters....1955 in color??
