@mrdummy27 I have both and the beatbox definitely has the better sound quality however due to the size of the sony its able to pump out more bass. It really depends on whether you want something large with thumping bass or something more compact with great audio quality.

you can get one at the Sam's Club i work at for $149 bucks! it's a one time buy.. i'm grabbin one tomorrow for myself.. dont listen to the others.. this boombox has balls to spare.. and the main cabinet is wood.. not plastic.. it wieghs almost 28 pounds! very solid construction.. at that price you really cant beat it..

OK KNOW LISTEN I MEAN READ THIS CAREFULLY .. This is getting the same reputation as the 80's dicolite boombox know one then brought it and know they are paying crazy money for it so look at it the way you like to but this Sony is ok in my opinion and if I could I'll pick one up an sell it when they stop making them or I just keep it to enjoy posting it on YouTube and hear people feen for it

look the lights on it r okay! however the logic3 jive box is one of the best ipod speakers out there. it has 90 rms watts and a highly tuned x-radiator. it has 2 tweeters, one big bass speaker and 2 other speakers, the thing is amazing and the best thing you can add a few to gether and omg will you room fill with quality sound amazing low dropping bass! i highly recommend the logic3 jivebox, bass and treble adjustment volume track change and lights, blue, green and red! check it out. :D

@Nellylark The bass was not even decent, especially for the $225 price-tag. You can pickup better quality systems for the same

price. Probably best to stay away from BestBuy or FutureShop and go to a place that just deals with audio systems like "2001 audio video".

@PLmikePL Yeah it was nice for the couple days I had it but the salesperson lied to me and said it would work fine with the iPhone 4. There was too much interference and the volume would randomly fluctuate. Not to mention the bass was terrible.

thing was terrible, I hadn't return it within 2 days because the quality was so bad. when I bought it the representative told me it was compatible with the iPhone which was completely wrong.
