There was equipment and tyre hoses in the pit box. If the pit crew were ready, it would not be there and so he could stop in the right place.

you kidding?...i was in fron of it! everyone else was so shocked by kubica's crash seconds before that even the RF1 pit-stop crew forgot to man their positions as kovalainen pulled in. this was not caught by any TV station.

Ok there where no mechanics but he could STOP at the spot to wait for them only and not to pull him back to the place ... that was stiupid

it did i looked at the brief shot u get of heki in the pits from that race at the stop movements are identical, the f1 world feed didnt catch it and replay it cuz of kubica's crash being more intresting to watch
