its the old one but its upgraded with a novak hv 6.5 brushless system, big bore shocks and heavy duty oil filled diffs. its a beast. both e-maxxs suck stock.
i have the rtr and the forward is very touchy , but the reverse is nice and slow and smooth . i put the 14 tooth pinion and front locker in and it crawls over any thing . i am waiting on a motor to come in the mail , " integy v10 hand wound 60 s crawler motor " will the stock e.s.c. run this motor ?? i'm praying that this motor will solve the " too quick and jumpy " problem . i am asking you because you seem very knowledgable . thanks
Crawler motors are actually very kind to the ESC. because they're wound with many turns the current doesn't peak very high. the stock esc will have no problem coping with that motor. only quick motors (with less turns) will draw high currents and need special ESC's. For steering power check the maximum BEC current, more is better... greets, Steyn
I fitted my AX10 with a HPI truck puller 2 motor, works very nice. It allows for a very smooth throttle, has as much torque as you could wish for, and draws 1 (one!) Ampere at max speed on level ground - meaning that I can run over one hour on my 2.200 mAh lipo battery. I used a small two-cell pack that I put on top of the steering servo to get the center of gravity low and forward. And I'm using a stock ESC.
first i masked the inside for the two tone and windows, then i sprayed the brown. i then removed the two tone masking (not the windows) and i sprayed the beige. then i removed all the masking and applyed the rust&dust stuff on the outside.
Bricks are difficult because they're slippery on the sloped sides and the points and ridges that stick out will hang on the axles very easely (very annoying) good luck!
Maybe you can help me. I just finished building my ax-10 and my problem is that when I connect the motor, it starts running without me pulling the trigger. I tried adjusting the radio but no use. Please help
Setup you're electronic speed controller first. (without the motor attached) check the manual for the procedure, there's allwais a set-up button, good luck
yes it's a lot of fun straight out the box. downside is that i love customizing and tweaking but this is allready very good so it leaves little room for improvement...

i used a mini tripod to level the camera
