When I worked for government, we had to read a step-by-step technique book on developing mental powers. I recently found it for free online, which really shocked me because generally this stuff is suppressed and doesn't get out. Now, I don't know which tactics might have to do with hypnosis, physics, conjuring, or outright new stuff, but a video documentary by people who are looking for sensationalism is hardly the best reference. Nor are scientists who are not experienced in looking for illusions, tricks, or more innocent confusions.
I don't believe a whit of energy healing, crystals, etc, but their placebo effect is often greatly similar to hypnosis. Such a reliable "placebo" is very powerful and useful.

@trekgeek nothing wrong with being a skeptic, and perhaps this appeals to magic yet not all magicians use tricks! What test or investigations have you personally done or should I say demonstrated? How come you never question your own doubt? Since you like to question everything. What you chose to perceive you will look to support with evidence whether it's to debunk and master.

It's fine to imagine what might be, but we must then test and investigate to determine what is. Question and investigate everything. Only believe what has been demonstrated in a controlled, confirmed setting.

@trekgeek1 Ok first of all you can see clearly ripped the paper in front on the camera and there was no chemicals packaged in there, second of all how do you explain the electrical current that runs through his body on command? Even though I didnt see this with my own eyes I do see a video of it on youtube showing visual proof that these events at one time did in fact happen... it not like saying that if you read a book then when you die you will grow wings and fly up to a golden sky kingdom...

Seeing a video is not proof. I've watched magic shows on T.V. but I don't believe a motorcycle disappeared under a sheet. It's a trick. What we must remember is that magicians exist all over the world. These performers can make a good living by tricking people. The James Randii foundation offers 1 million dollars to anyone who can demonstrate supernatural abilities. NOBODY has ever claimed it. I can't explain all his tricks, but I can't explain most magic tricks either.

Do you have any idea of how many people have bought into various charlatan's, some admitted, others exposed, based on such evidence? Remember Uri Geller's popularity, among others?
I've seen Derren Brown light a lightbulb through a plastic bag, which all then exploded inwards, no less. I've had a friend who, since highschool, could name half a dozen ways to surreptitiously light something on fire - the man had his hand in the middle of a newspaper which allows for a lot of actions.

Now, I don't know which tactics might have to do with hypnosis, physics, conjuring, or outright new stuff, but a video documentary by people who are looking for sensationalism is hardly the best reference. Nor are scientists who are not experienced in looking for illusions, tricks, or more innocent confusions.
I don't believe a whit of energy healing, crystals, etc, but their placebo effect is often greatly similar to hypnosis. Such a reliable "placebo" is very powerful and useful.
