For the record, I have both...and this malfunction was directly caused by my not cleaning the gun for several thousand rounds...

The 930 is a crap shoot. You either get a good one or a junker. So far i've had two junkers.

are you using lite lodes? they may not have enough umph to cycle.

Nope, I am using the same ammo I have used from the start, and this is a Mossberg, not a Benelli... LOL they will shoot anything [when they work]
After disassembly, it seems the piston broke. I am going to try to weasel a new one out of mossberg, otherwise it's Brownells...
