Right on! Gate of Thunder was the bomb, baby!! It had a hard rocking sound track, superior audio effects and graphics that made you want to lick the screen!

Few shooters of the time could touch it on any level.

I bought this from my local game exchange and the manager recommended it to me because im a collector and he said it was pretty rare and sold it to me for $40 and i feel a little bit ripped off since i usually trust him. Can somebody explain if i should be pissed or not?

@MegamanBurst That isn't too bad. It seems to go for about thirty bucks. It is anything but "rare" though. They made quite a number of them (since they were included with the Super System Card AND the Turbo Duo systems). Have a great one.

@spida1a I was one day late at EB Games they was selling the TG-16 the one with the CD built in for $50.00 dollars and the CD with six games also. The guy told me I could have gotten one.

One other guy said the TG-16 is no good. I said ok you buy one game for SNES and one for Sega Genesis and you spend $100.00 dollars and I'll spend $50.00 and get six games.

Such a great review. I also purchased this game with the Super CD card. I think arkmainable, is right about what he said for there being a version of the 3 in 1 disc having Air Zonk. A while back when I was on ebay a seller was selling the 3 in 1 game disc that was for Turbo Duo display units (for retail stores). At the title screen instead of Bonk with the 3 games there was Zonk (to help select the game desired). I think this Turbo Duo Display disc did not have a lable on the front of the disc.

spida1a, love your TG reviews/overviews! haven't watched them all yet (its hard, especially when you flash super rare currently overpriced stuff I'm kicking myself over not buying 10 years ago) Gate of Thunder tho. This was released as a disc only game in the US roughly a year before being part of the 3-in-1 disc. I know because I remember seeing the stand alone game on store shelves :)

@burf12345 Gate of Thunder came first, packed with the TurboDuo when it first came out. I already had the TG-16 and CD system at the time, but the new system launch had games I wanted. GOT was a pleasant surprise... Devil mode is not impossible, nor is it frustratingly difficult, and the length of the game was just right. The music is the best part.
